EVERY STORY HAS A BEGINNING...

We all have our beginnings. His happens to start in a home located in the middle of nowhere. That's the way he has always thought of it. Somewhere in the mountains, beneath the dark and looming cliffs, and subject to the forever howling winds. A place where there is little sun and even the wildlife doesn't choose to stray towards. His beginning started there with a complicated family. It wasn't until he left home that he felt like the true beginning of his life was upon him.

As an Elder his history is too long to recount for every living soul. He's made too many enemies, human and supernatural alike, along the way. But there are a few things he can confirm. He wasn't there for every big historical event. For those that he was apart of, he found a way to know some of the key players. He took a fasination with almost every war. When he didn't dabble in warfare and grew bored of humanities repetitive need for it, Apollonius chose to follow his pursuits in business...or partying....whichever he felt like doing even though they tended to go hand-in-hand.

Don't mistake him. A vampire's memory, while good, isn't perfect. No one can expect that he'll remember every little thing. Some of the history books have it wrong anyways. History is always told from the perspective of the Victor so it doesn't surprise him. Always remaining hush hush on the matters, and to not embarass himself on what he doesn't remember, Apollo keeps his lips sealed about anything related to the past. Though when inquired about, he'll gladly share what he does remember.

EVERY STORY HAS A MIDDLE...

A little over two decades ago, Apollonius decided it was time to wage his own war. The war to end all wars. Or so he believes. Tired of watching fueds between species that no longer hold the ground they used to, Apollonius seeks to bring harmony among the supernatural world. There are whispers that he is leading a rebellion and the only reason he is able to get as far as he has is because he's an Elder. Sometimes, it's an advantage to be old.

Recuirting efforts began with his motley crew but have since expanded to included supernaturals in every city. There is no limit to what they can achieve when brought together. While it is a little contradictory in nature, warriors in his band of misfits are taken on a volunteer basis. No one is forced to wage the war with him. Some only seek refuge, neutral grounds where they can come together to get along. Others want to fight to end the bloodshed and centuries worth of deceit and misguided values. Everyone has their own reasons for joining. Those that do are protected by everyone. They rally to protect their own. While they are on their way to creating the peace he seeks, everyone knows that Monsters are still monsters and their leader doesn't stray from using a heavy hand or the darkness he was given.

He's no fortune teller. Can't see the future or predict what is going to happen next. All he knows is that he dreams of a day when the conflict is over. When supernaturals come together and live in a strange sense of harmony. A time where useless bloodfueds are resolved and children aren't expected to hold the grudges their parents instilled in them. As far as he can see, the end is nowhere near. The middle of his story is still being written. Hell, he would argue he is still tangled in the beginning of something new. Only time will tell. He just hopes he finds the Kingpin on the otherside of the war before it's too late...

MODEL LOOKS: IF YOU'RE SEXY AND YOU KNOW IT CLAP YOUR HANDS

Height: 6'1"
Weight: 188lbs
Build: tall and lean
Tatttoos: None. Maybe he'll consider one.
Scars: Plenty. Not all vampires heal the way you think.

An anomonly from his siblings in everyway, Apollonius's appearance is as stark of a difference. Glacier blue eyes peer through long lashes most women are jealous of.  Longer platinum blonde hair is almost always combed into place, but still allows for a few runaway strands. Skin slightly kissed by the sun but still on the paler side. What can a vampire do? Always clean shaven. Clothes undeniably pristine and pressed. Common outfits include dark jeans and a dress shirt of some kind. He doesn't mind t-shirts, but when running a business he always needs to look the part. Casual for him still looks put together and he takes pride in his appearance. Bussiness man or Fraternity boy? He's been described as both.

SHINNING PERSONALITY: LAWFUL NEUTRAL/CHAOTIC TENDENACIES

Lawful Neutral: At first glance he comes off as the silent brooding type. He watches and waits, seeing everyone and everything around him. When he is done being the observer, however, Apollo transforms into a social butterfly: undoubtedly dramatic, self-confident, and playful. He gladly engages in conversations, preferring ones that are centered on deeper topics compared to trivial matters. There is a nautral prowling elegance to his movements, a confidence **coughcough* and flamboyancy *coughcough* that demands attention, and a silent dominance in his curiosity. He's brave, hard to challenge, and damn near impossible to hurt or kill. Arrogance is often mistaken for his confidence, but everything about him is genuine, including that bourbon soaked charm. With a burning determination buried down into the bone he carries his head high with his shoulders back and a consistent cheshire smirk on his lips.

Chaotic Neutral: Having lived a long life, it's no surprise to Apollo that he's gone from one end of the spectrum to the other. Survival makes everyone do things they'd rather not. Only in the last decade or two has he transitioned to a more welcoming sort of character. His fued with his eldest brother drives him to do things he'd rather not speak of. The traits however are there. Obsessions can get out of hand. Being heavy handed has it's perks. Selfish gains are driven by selfish motives and fulfilled by selfish actions. Deceit can be second nature.  Different times call for different measures and he isn't afraid to go there if he has to.

"Careful where you step, Sweetheart. Not all that lurks in the night hides in shadows. Some Monsters are made of Sunshine & Gold, smiling at you from across the street in broad Daylight."
Blood relatives

Family is a forgein concept to him. The word is thrown around enough times that he understands that 'family' is supposed to the people you are directly related to. Nature predetermines that the womb you came from and the seed that bore you are your parents. Any other poor soul lucky enough to share the same womb is a sibling. By maternal and paternal instincts as well as nature's defined laws, this family is "supposed" to care about you.

It's all a crock of shit.

Maybe in some families this is true. He witnesses it often enough among humans that he hopes, for their sake, it is. Yet there's always a dark twist and only time is willing to share what it is. In Apollo's case, he's one of three children. The middle child of a broken family and he's long since been estranged. Viewed once as the Golden Boy, no pun intended, he was on the receving end of an abusive relationship with his older brother, worshipped by his mother, and  showered with 'tough love'  and strange dissecting behavior by his father. He wasn't able to make sense of the dynamics until he was in the first century of young, twisted life. Quickly Apollonius silqouied himself, learning when to walk on egg shells and when to go bat shit crazy. It wasn't until she came along that his perception changed.

After her soundless birth and the three day ritual that took place, Apollonius snuck into her room in the middle of the day. The slumbering house didn't know any better. He propped himself up on the bed beside her, those wide doe eyes looking at him and her little hands reaching out to his face. She cooed at him and that's when he forever became wrapped around her little finger.

Sianoa Grimm (Mother) and Ragnvald Grimm (Father)  unknown status (NPC)

Apollonius, while in the beginning was on good terms with his parents, now harbors a deep sedated hatred for his father. Somewhere in his heart, he's been able to grant his mother forgiveness. They used, abused, and took advantage of him for his talents. The hatred stems from turning the siblings against each other.

Demitrius "Demitri" Grimm (Older Brother) - unknown status (NPC)

Convinced by his parents that his brother attacked him out of an innate hatred and disgust for what/who Apollo was; Apollo has spent his entire life in retaliation for it. Apollonius swore he would be faster, stronger, and better than Demitri so that one day he would finally be the monster Grimm wanted him to be. Unbeknownst to anyone, his relationship with his eldest brother shaped the values he lives by now.

Freya Grimm (Younger Sister) - Handling Seattle Headquaters (NPC)

This little hellion is a storm of chaos at the heels of their enemies. As frigid as her powers are and she attempts to be, Apollo is one of the few who sees her 'soft' side. She is someone he always wishes to protect. This is the only one who he never felt abandoned him in his family. They are a strange pair. Best friends. Wing-man/Wing-woman and all. Onlookers may mistake them for lovers, especially with how much they tease each other, but their opinions are far from the truth.

Shameless Flirt
Interests (x0)
Non-committal but not impossible for more.

TEN YEARS AGO...

A long hallway painted in black stretched on for what felt like miles. You've already crossed through that rackety door from the alleyway. A strange place for the entrance to any place of business. The hallway smelt of fresh paint and primer. Makes sense since the walls caught the light as you walk by. The paint was still drying. The nearer you came to the room at the end the better you heard them: Young monsters talking of things that should never be.

"Have ya ever been in love, Apollonius?" A female's southern accent filled the air. Quieter than it normally did but that's due to the expansiveness of the room they were in. Massive and more like a warehouse main floor than the back-end of a building's first floor.

"Love?" A confused but pleased voice responded. For a moment, silence settled between them. Why ask a question like that?

"Yes, love. Idiot. You know when-"

"I know what love is , Rosewillow."A breathless sigh slipped past his lips. "No, I've never been in love. "

"Have you ever wanted to be in love?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because love gets in the way."

"In the way of?" A playful growl rumbled in his chest. Apollonius rolled from his back onto his side. One arm propped up his head while the other reached out to touch her cotton candy colored hair. That crazy long mane of hers laid sprawled out beneath her head. Stark contrast to the grey floors and her fair flesh. It's a rare moment for these two. They are the only ones to see this side of each other. Carefree, innocent, and blissful. The time when hopes and dreams have yet to be retaliated by reality.

"Of doing what's necessary."

"Necessary is a blurred line, Apollonius. You know that."

"I do and my resolve remains the same."

"Will you ever fall in love?"

"God, I hope not." A fond smile pulled at his lips and softened those glacial eyes. There was a romantic hidden behind his layers.

"Why?" Rosewillow turned her head to meet his. Faces mere inches away. Green eyes, the kind cut from emeralds in a swirling green jungle, peered up at him.

"Because it means I would be a sap. And what good would I be then?"

Few people enter into Apollo's life that he is willing to trust or hold dear. Beyond his sister and those loyal to him that make up his crew, there are only a select few he would even consider friends. There are even fewer that he would admit were or are lovers.  A deep rooted fear keeps Apollonius from admitting to anyone that he cares for them. The only ones who will know are the ones on the receiving end of it. He puts on a good face for his enemies that he keeps everyone at arms length. But in all reality everyone, including those he recruits for his cause he cares for deeply. Like any battle though, there are casulties in war. Beneath that movie star appearance or attitude, is a loyal, protective, and honorable friend/lover.

TWINKLE TOES † FUN SIZE † SMURF

PESKY HUNTER OBSESSION

After they interfered with each other's hunt, Apollo invited the Hunter along for an adventure. He has Rogues to kill and she is a Hunter. Their relationship is mutually beneficial. At first, he did it out of curiosity: he wanted to know more about how the Fun Sized Smurf ticked. They bantered in a way he didn't with others and it was bound to become an obsession. She keeps him on his toes and he knows he does the same for her. He invited her into a world she knows nothing about: His world.  Will she come to regret it or love it?

Part 1

Q-tip: "What do you know, the Smurf has a sense of humor..."

Twinkle Toes: "Am no' a fuckin' Smurf, ya bollix dit."

Q-tip: "Fine. No Smurf. You don't seem as mischievous as them anyways and that wouldn't be any fun. Twinkle work better?"

Twinkle Toes: "Am warse than a Smurf could ever be."

Part 2

Q-Tip: “Sure you aren’t a Smurf? You sure are playful enough to be one. Fun sized, too.”

Twinkle Toes: "Ya want yer dick 'fun sized' too? Am sure I could take off a few inches perfectly fine."

LITTLE CRIMINAL † MINI ME † SMARTASS

CINNABUN   PRECIOUS HUMAN

This precious little vessel first crossed Apollo's path in a bar. With a sweet promise and cheers to the next "bite" Apollo promised to cross Omega's path again. Omega doubted the toast would ever come true. Never doubt the Elder. For in his promise, Nikolas walked straight into trouble. Dabbling in his own curiosity he neared death three times in one night. First at the hand of Ricky, and twice by the equally as sarcastic Helena. Hence Nikki boy's nickname, Smartass. In his own mischief, Apollonius rescued the mortal from his companions and whisked him away for a healing drink. Apart they are completely different. Together they are smooth little criminals. Breaking and Entering may just become a habit...

Part 1

Apollo: "Come on, we'll go around back."

Nik: "Serious, are you really...?"

Apollo: **pulls hard on the door handle of a bar to snap the lock after hours**

Nik: ...

Apollo: "Oops. I'll send them a check for it later."

Nik: "You've gotta be kidding me."

***silence as the two of them become criminals***

Every leader has his followers. The best teams can sometimes be the ones unintentionally formed. Surprise! Through the years, Apollo collected his fair share of enemies. Apparently, he collected his fair share of allies as well. The motley crew he has surrounded himself with are the ones he calls family. More than his own flesh and blood. While his recruits are critical to The Cause none of them share the same place on the chess board.

Each with their own selfish motivations, his band of misfits chose to follow him into uncharted territories. One of them called him a "mad man"  for thinking he could change the order of things. Yet, here they all are. Apollo entrusts his life to each of them. They've shared bloodshed, tears, lows and highs, and celebrations together. They serve a unique purpose on the team. Each run a special aspect of the daily operations while simulataneously plotting the end of the on-going war. Blood makes you related. But Loyalty, makes you family. This is his true family.

Characters listed below are NPCs. They often show up in the story with an active role to play and help move things along. If Apollo isn't your cup of tea, these characters may also be played separately. Choose your adventure.

"Rip" "The Spy/Ghost" - Unknown

Not much is known about their resident spy aka Ghost. Apollo has known him for as long as he can remember and he still doesn't know the man's abilities, species, or even his real name. Ripley is loyal and acts without hesitation. Often a step ahead of the Elder. Apollo owes Ripley for saving his life. Multiple times. In the centuries that Ripley has come in and out of Apollo's life, he's said few word (most assume he's mute), changed appearances often, and altered his personalitiy more. Believed alignment is true neutral. True alignment, unknown.

"Rose" "The Informant/Voodoo Princess" - Voodoo Priestess

They met in New Orleans. She was your resident voodoo witch and running a shop known as The Black Cat. He stumbled across her path and because of his past dealings with witches decided that she was the one he wanted to befriend. Rose is his business partner.  Provocative, expressive, and quick-witted. Her alignment is Chaotic Neutral with Chaotic Evil tendenancies. It's hard to turn a woman of her caliber from her wicked ways. She may be on the 'side' of good, but the lines are always blurred. Don't be confused, she's always out to get her way.

                                      "Hel" "The Cleaner" - Wendigo

Their story and how they crossed paths isn't a story often whispered. All anyone knows is that somewhere along the way, Apollo did something for Helena. Ever since, she has been in his debt. While their story began centuries before Apollo ever met Rosewillow, Helena didn't join the motley crew until a few years after everything began. He summoned her and she came. Alignment is chaotic good. She's brash, easily tempered with Ricky, enjoys taunting others, and sarcastic. But she always acts within her limits. "Take a walk on the wild side, kid" is her motto.

"Ricky" "The Tracker/Enforcer"- Turned Vampire

Country boy turned into a military grunt. Cedric would never say this was the best time of his life. While deployed he attempted suicide. In the midst of a war torn land and on the brink of death that his sire came along. She likes to believe she "saved him." In truth, she only brought him from one hell to another. Newly turned and not at all in his right mind for how he could control himself, Apollo gave him a way. He doesn't believe in the cause but he's more loyal to Apollo. He's lawfully good, cocky firecracker, and always wearing his heart on his sleeve.

  • “Where are you going?”

That was the first question his two-legged friend proposed. It was often when these two met, or so much as communicate, and he had very limited control over what the young drake would do knowing his tendencies. As of recently, there was no cause for major concern, just a necessary reminder for him to avoid drawing unwanted attention. The man himself, dressed in a black trenchcoat with short onyx strands crossed both his arms.

    “Maybe_somewhere beyond the shallows?”

“You’re not seriously going to risk someone seeing you, right? I can’t do anything if they have a Swat team go on another witch hunt for you. Just stay out of trouble and don’t reveal yourself in public, okay? I’d rather not see you end up as some science experiment.”

“You don’t have to tell me twice!”

His sass provoked the Captain into moving his head side to side in disapproval, followed by a lengthy exhale from both nostrils. Regardless, one gloved hand came up and stroked the Dovah’s chin seconds after, closing the mercury irises that laid beneath a two-piece visor that resembled sunglasses. Said naval officer was nudged slightly in the shoulder before receiving a somewhat playful response. “No promises.”

Little did the man know that there were indeed no promises made on what would come later, or what Tempest was going to be involved with. Sooner or later he was going to regret not putting more emphasis on not interacting with the local population.

    -----------------------

On the following evening, the pavement and sidewalks were left moist by recent rainfall, potholes in the asphalt were half filled with water, the heavens obstructed by a thick blanket of dark gray clouds. All that descended from above was a fine mist from overcast weather, which would prompt most pedestrians to keep their hands in their pockets due to a slightly chilling temperature outside.

Numerous brick structures were lined parallel with one another, some having grime coating portions of their weathered exteriors, while others were more pristine. A few single-story shops and restaurants could occasionally be found further away, in addition to a nightclub down the corner intersection.

A pair of white and onyx tenny shoes made their way across one puddle, lightly splashing water droplets across their surroundings. Both hands rubbed themselves together beneath an ultramarine hoodie for warmth, all that stuck out were his shoulder length, azure locks. Emerald hues kept their focus set on the path ahead before the five-foot-ten figure took a sharp turn right towards an open alleyway, where a few exit doors with steps could be found, a few dumpsters, ladders, and metal balconies overlooking it.

Noticing a potential spot where he could possibly camp for a short period of time, the alleged young man managed to springboard off his feet and latch both hands onto a piece of railing, then summersault his way up another level. Without slipping, he effortlessly leaped several more times onto one of the overhanging metal porches and crouch down behind a corner in its railing. Not long after the sleeves on his jacket were adjusted for comfort.

Within minutes, the aquatic male in disguise eventually stood up to prop his elbows up, then rest his chin on both closed knuckles. One hand reached into a pocket inside his jeans to retrieve a wallet and opening it, grunting at the lack of contents inside until it’d be put away. For those next few moments, he continuously gazed down at the alleyway beneath him and the sidewalk ahead, patiently awaiting the arrival of any unsuspecting victims.

  • With amiable amusement still lingering on that porcelain face, Cassella leaned in slightly, an effort to be close to keep that gossip modulated. While she still remained alert, ears picking up shuffling footsteps and jingling alarms of each visitor, at that moment, she seemed to value tidbits of information above most things. The humans nearby didn't even notice, still indulged in their own brand of chatter. She allowed Alli to go on, blinking slightly as she heard a new voice pitching in.

The gentleman with a newspaper. Of course, he's probably one of them, too. A brief glance of a smile was cast over that direction for a moment, before averting back to the pair.
"Wow, now I feel special." This was breathed in a light-hearted laugh, shaking her head once more. "It sounds like a neat combination of borderline and glamour. Keeps things separated yet together. Damn, that's really brilliant. Who comes up with this stuff?" And what does it mean if one can hear it spoken by both humans and other folk, really? An in-between? But of course, she didn't really ask that out loud-- whatever speculation was left for her to think about. Being around for a long time doesn't necessarily equates to knowing everything. Sooner or later, she'll find someone to ask anyway. She always does.

Or rather, some things just gently, gradually unravel themselves.

"I've heard about the Crimson Room from a couple of hotel staff..." her voice trailed off as she subtly tilted her head sideways. One hand receiving the warmth of her cup that's halfway down, the other propping her cheek. "Just a snippet, really. They seemed to be so thrilled over it. More like a VIP room of sorts then, I reckon?" A healthy amount of intrigue was displayed to this.

Gleaming gray eyes gazed at the other young woman who added a few more things. "You had me at dancing. I think I'm sold." And drinks too. Liquor, mostly. Free or not, it was a vice that she always welcomed--sometimes a little more than she would be proud of to admit, especially these days. One can already guess which section she will be frequenting at each place that she visits. Of course, however, that's not one thing that anyone would expect to slip from a tourist. Cassella visibly took a mental note of these things, eyebrows perking up as the list went on. There's quite a variety!

And more importantly... anything. It was a short, bittersweet silence that had befallen this young woman as if for a moment, she actually looked thoughtful. Hopeful. As if for once in a long time, she finally allowed that fragile bit of hope show through. She wanted so much to believe that. How about water creatures? Dragons? That truly sounds like an outrageous thing to ask at this point. But if a diversity of creatures were there, perhaps, just perhaps, it won't sound too extreme.

"I'm amazed, really, so many entities being able to mingle in one place and I figured that they're not at the end of the list. Back then it gets chaotic or there are some conservative old ones that will never agree. But here we are. What a time to be alive." Indeed. Eyes gradually averted away. " Does the place go by very specific rules for both sides then?"

While there have been notable mortals that she knew that successfully integrated themselves into a different facet of society, and she has been a witness to a time where this was completely possible, the majority just cannot be bothered to do so. It sounds...too good to be true? And at what cost was it paid for? This sort of freedom in a place that was so packed will never come free.

And in a way, it did remind her of one man that she used to know. One who almost had the same ambitions of coexisting, and came so close in achieving so. Almost.

"Say..." she pursed her lips slightly. "Have you two ever came across on something that you wouldn't exactly expect to be there?"
  •

    *turns on megaphone*

GET YOUR SHINY, SEQUIN ASS OFF THE BEACH. YOU'RE BLINDING THESE BITCH ASS KIDS.

  • "Is that the game you're playing, then?" Came from Amiliae after the spout of laughter with her friends. "No one's gonna believe that innocent shit here, McLunny, you might as well cut it out. Not with all the rumors floating around like they are."

"An' what innocent shyte am I playin', Amiliae?" Holly's angry voice was higher than the British of Baby-Blues. The little blonde was seeing nothing but fire in her eyes as well where she was being pinned into a corner by the two other girls who kissed Baby-Blue's ass religiously she in the middle facing Holly. "I 'aven't done anythin' to ye. I said leave me alone."

Another laugh. "You think I'm going to believe that coming from you? You sleep constantly in class and yet you still have a passing grade? It's easy to see what's going on. Especially with what everyone has seen you do."

"Aye? An' tell me what's goin' on then. Since yer the textbook definition of smart?"

"Ohh..." One of Amiliae's friends hummed with a giggle. This only triggered the blonde more.

"Oh right, like you are? Like how you're sneaking around with the TA? Do you think I'm fucking stupid? Everyone knows you're shagging him to get a better grade. Always bundling yourself up like that? Are you wearing your little outfits for him under all of that? You're not fooling anyone. What's under there that you're always trying to hide?"

"That's none of yer business." Holly defended, only making Amiliae smirk.

"It's probably not even only to him. I'll bet she does it to all the teachers, too." Said the chocolate haired friend. Besides her other friend, strawberry blonde, agreed.

"An' his me.. friend. Am no' shaggin' anyone. Is this because I knew some stuff in class? That's no reason to bully me, ye don' have to do this." Holly attempted to reason. "Clarley ye know some stuff too, ye can go to his club after school if ye wanna know mare. Am no' tryin' te steal him from ye er anythin' but there's no reason to be bullyin' me fer it."

"You're friends. Okay. I don't want him. I just want you to admit the truth to yourself, little miss class star. You know, he could lose his job as a TA for all the rumors floating around about you two. How you're hidden away at the library with him?"

Holly's lips parted. She had no idea, anyone, especially her would know about that. "Why do you--"

"Or how you're passing notes to each other in class. Own up to what you are, you little freak. You always stay after school and are always tired in class? Right. It's okay to squeeze by in classes by shaggin' him in secret, but those hickeys on your neck are another story. Own up to your shagging for grades, sweetheart. Huh, who am I to judge? I mean, I might not do it for grades at all, but at least I know when to admit to it."

"I don' got nothin' to admit to! Just because he doesn't like you, doesn't mean it's because of me! Yer a bitch, Amiliae, yer ugly in an' oot an' the only people who don' see that are the people ye've open yer legs to! Back off of me already!"

"You've got a smart fucking mouth, don't you?" Baby Blue scoffed. "And not admitting either. Guess everyone will just have to see what a little slut the McLunny girl is, huh? Poor you, will you stil be passing class once all is said and done? Maybe the other teachers will take pity and ask you for favors too, won't they? It's a shame really. Don't worry, I won't mention who it is. I don't want Mr. Grimm losing his job for you. You're not worth it."

  • Light eyes rolled when Apollonius directed the question to her in such a way. She ended it with a smile though. "No, but I also know that robbing a bank is bad too. This might not be the same as that, but if you knew that there was the chance that it might get you killed would you still try to do it too?" At least she wasn't a dunce. Her mind was in a straight-lined place, but at least her idea about it could have some meaningful point to it, if looked at in the same human way she was.

And in human nature, a pitiful example set by those that if you were big and bad in the world that you could get all you want, she thought to take that out on a person who she did not know the story of, likely how she had to many other people. People who looked weak, or seemed weak, or didn't like the same things that she did, they were prejudiced and treated ill because of that word 'different' slapped on their forehead. It was something possibly her parents taught her and allowed her to get away with. And to people like Holly, the freckly red-haired girl terrified of the world to step out of line and be struck down for it, she tolerated it. Because this was nothing to her, she could handle a bitchy blonde over the horror of needing to go home and dealing with a bigger real monster.

She was in the seat now, away, while Amiliae brushed off whatever glare Apollo was giving her because she soaked it up like a sponge. She knew she was hated, likely how her parents were in their neighborhood of other entitled snot nosed people. She was able to crack open a book for the remainder of the period while Apollo went on with his lesson and the joking of the college students who seemed to jump back in time to the crude years of being a care free teen. Because in these times college was just another level of school towards the end. Not a bone-crushing, dept collecting, just another step in life to go.

The lesson would dwindle, and soon the time would come with a silent bell to let them know that it was time to migrate off to another class for the quirky young people. For Holl,y she would make her way to the school library to fit in study hours before she would need to go home.

As it was coming to the end and the paper was mentioned Holly glanced to it and looked at the title of the so called spell. Love was not something in her future, but if there was a dusty spell in there that could change her father back to a time where he was happy then she would accept it.

"Quiz, what?! C'mon, Slome!" Whined a classmate. The rest of the class groaned. At least it was over current stuff and not something brand new. The sound of people putting their papers back into bags or arranging them was heard as they all were readying themselves to leave off. Holly waited as she often did. A little part in her was scared that Apollo would try and catch up with her however and she left just a little faster. Not long after her was Amiliae snickering something to the three of her friends.

Before Apollo himself could leave though, not that he truly could without packing up his things, Slome coughed to grab his attention and his big hairy hand gestured  to the table. "Yer did gran' sprog. 'Oy did it fee? Feel loike yer can chucker dis wit' a real class ofdis topic?" Slome would start with the elder. He spoke about some rights and wrongs and things that Apollo could do differently, but nothing too harsh on the man. It would end with a clap on Apollo's shoulder and Slome's contagious rocky breaking laugh. "Loike oi said, yer did grand. clap yer in class lay-ra dis week, boy." He would allow Apollo to clean up then leave himself.

Before he could get far, however, the cheap sound of a poodle fluffed blonde in pink was heard, ridiculing as ever. And not without the peircing venom she often had.

  • Holly had to think to herself on that notion. of things. If there were things like that, and they did exist, then she would continue to be in trouble as she was now. They had their own things to hide, their own things to protect. their lives, their honor, their line. Why protect a race that was would be more than happy to ruin, kill and hurt, that would only want to be saved yet would never return the favor? Holly understood that now. What was her life compared to many others that needed the help, anyway? Death and torment over a few different rocks, herbs, or knives? If they existed, would they allow for bad people to get away with doing bad things, hurting, killing, stealing, and wishing horrible forthcomings to happen to the most innocent of people? Maybe that's exactly why they didn't do it. It was no point to risk their lives for people who would only look at them like an enemy all of theirs.

"Like, I feel for the witches, or at least the pretenders and all. But at the same time why even try to practice it at all if that was going to be your future in it?" Baby-Blue aka Amiliae explained. She'd casually plucked up one of the crystals. Looking at the reflecting stone and how it hit the light then gently placed it back onto the table top.

"Oh, ewwww, that's goats skin?" A girl asked, not apart of the posse for Baby-Blue.

Her friend teased her by nudging her. "Ye'd eat goat belly in a second. Don ye goo an' turn yer nose up here."

Her face turned worse. "Okay, but eating and having its skin is different."

A boy in class hooped at her, "they be used fer condoms too, lassie!"

"Eww!" That came from several girls. And it took Slome clapping his hands to get attention again then soon aimed it back onto Apollo.

"Settle yerselves. Matthews, act loike an adult please."

Matthews snickers with an innocent. lolly to his head towards the bearded man. "Sorry, boss man."

"Go on', Mr. Grimm, yer doin' fine."

Holly was attempting to join the other boy from class who'd made it back to his seat. She jumped when an arm waved by her, stopping her before she could round the table and have a seat. It was Baby-Blue. Holly's eyes shadowed as her brow came down. "Move."

Amiliae chuckled and spoke softly.  "Why so mean? I'm only waiting for more amazing witch facts." Ain't this your favorite lesson? Witches and vampires, freak? It's like he was doing this just for you."

"I said move, ye hacket." Holly moved Baby-Blue's arm out the way and she retreated to her seat. Amiliae turned back to some of her friends and chuckled about it, then engaged back to whatever it was Apollo was about to go into next. She might not like the lesson, but it was nice to watch him give it. And it took away from class time that they would have to be studying for, too. Talk about a free period.

  • A wary glance was returned when the odd gaze was cast upon him from the vampire. Whether he could pinpoint the reason or not, he was no stranger to the expression. Apollo wasn’t looking at him at all. At least- he wasn’t trying to. How did Nik know? It wasn’t like he hadn’t gotten it before by others or done the same in the mirror. Above all, it made the hair on his arms raise despite the temperature in the car. Whether it was his own doing or not, he didn’t keep track anymore. “You’ve… dealt with demons in the past then?” Nikolas deduced after a moment or so of thought, studying the man’s expression. Curiosity killed the cat. Likewise, it had a way of causing hell for everything else.

He listened as the Elder skirted around the issue of demons, monsters, and whatever else went bump in the odd hours of the night. In the end, he had succeeded in summing it up in a frame that they had time for on the drive. “It was a lot easier when I didn’t see. It’s too late for it now.” Nikolas murmured. Ignorance was bliss, but did it always mean safety? He would have liked to think so, once upon a time. Nowadays the less he knew the more danger it posed; he knew he simply couldn’t bank on it anymore. “You knew something was up when we were at the bar… what about as far back as Sanctum?” As if the energy didn’t hover around the kid like a cloak by now. He raised a brow curiously. He knew some of what vampires could do, but clearly not all.

As both went to their own thoughts the car fell to silence. Eventually, he’d quit looking out the window for shadows and demons and simply watched the street lights pass instead. In time, his eyes turned from the window to look back at Apollo. “No… I didn’t,” Nik admitted openly. His gaze was prone toward studying the floor mats of the car on occasion. “But I know more now than I did.” That was for better or for worst. His words were stuck in his throat thereafter, chewing on his tongue as he thought. It was just one question, a handful of words at best. He chose a different one instead.

“You- mentioned you knew, or… worked with someone that knows magic. Right?” Nik prompted. The hand settled in his lap tapped against his leg silently. “Would they know anything about possession?” No matter how detached his tone was to the question, by expression alone he’d simply never been that great of a liar.

  • To anyone who will be more than happy to fill her in, Cassella was all ears, quietly turning a chair to face this other enthusiastic guest. Even with brief pauses of primly drinking her beverage, faded gray eyes never left this woman, momentarily crinkling in mild amusement at her choice of words as she gushed over a certain someone. A pale curl of hair was tucked back momentarily as she straightened up, like a quiet figurine weighing the weight of each word, gauging the atmosphere of the place as soon as small revelations were randomly tossed into it. By that time, she was already aware that perhaps, hers were not the only pair of ears that were listening.

A place where this was spoken so freely, almost giddily so with the mildest of reservations. For all the time that she spent at sea, tending to her own little business, it truly changed around here.

A city of answers, indeed. And by now she was actually wondering how this was made possible. Or rather, who was the one behind such ambition.

While she chuckled at this assumption, to keen eyes it seemed that it struck a chord. Maybe it was the words, the intonation of the voice. Maybe the demeanor and the feminine excitement that laced it. Nostalgia flooded those features, vanishing just as fast as it came as this entire conversation just served a very brief reminder. This wasn't completely denied, and yet, she shook her head. "I don't think I'm anything too interesting," Cassella gently replied. "I've only got acquaintances here and there as I run around. But the others... they're usually the chillest bunch I've ever met, I'd say."

A very relaxed answer, from someone drawing from experience. From the weight of her words, it did seem that to her, there was no need to hide, and she didn't seem surprised. If anything, the mere thought alone seemed to bring a good amount of warmth on that pallid face, every ounce of it genuine in every aspect. Just a common citizen with very close brushes just like how she always passed herself to be, even though her manners and her stories would say otherwise. She had always been a little too wrapped up with them, wasn't she? Always in, a little too deep, and up to now, she still was. Though bringing so much interest to herself in someone else's turf was not really in the list of the reasons why she was there.

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you happen to be a regular of the place? Or rather... how were the past parties like?" Momentarily glancing down on the photographs on her lap, she pursed her lips. "I think I'd be staying around for a while, though I'm just wondering how was it on a usual basis."

  • It could have been the books, or that maybe it was a perspective that one day, she too, might fathom being proud enough to call herself such a being. To be able to draw good luck, nature. She'd read of those in the time of trials, the real Wiccans, who did nothing more with their powers rather than merrily make flowers or crops grow better in their garden. No harm in it, no foul. It only helped in winter when such things were needed or if they enjoyed watching spring flourish around them. It was harmless, an expression of admiration and secret things that helped the earth to flourish, instead, they were reaped for it, tormented, and called endless names for doing nothing but enjoying the moonlight on their bare skin, or a couple more potatoes for supper.

His stare might have done more damage if the girl was not already a person who mastered stares like that. She stared up as he loomed over her. Baby blue eyes to her namesake caught his own, then her expression twisted to that to mock confusion, her lip pinched at the top as her mouth gapped a git and she uttered a, "what?" At least she didn't say anything else. She stood happily with her explanation. Meanwhile Holly, unaware of the silent battle in her own name, shrank when Apollo had turned attention to her in the slightest and her head ducked lower. She didn't need everyone looking at her oddly because she knew taboo things like that. She certainly didn't want to undergo more horrored words like freak passing her ears in the hall because of excitement in the class for the topic.

One of Baby-Blue's friends spoke to answer. "Well, yeah? Nothing, right? It's not like Witches and stuff are real anyway."

Right... Holly thought to herself. They weren't. It wasn't. And nothing was going to save her. Not silly flowers or the idea that the impossible existed.

Yet she, as well as the table watched while Apollo unveiled what lay on the table. It was the typical hat and wand kit that a parent would give to their child to watch them pull an innocent stuffed bunny out of the hat. It was nothing anyone here had not already seen before. A few people in the class chuckled and giggled about it even they wondered when the punch line would hit.

It did when the other side of the table was taken into account. There was more than just the simple toy of children, and it turned into things that Holly had only ever read about, or when she dared to peek into fantasy shops where some brave woman in black with dark lipstick was twiddling herbs and such stones around their neck. When they asked what she needed Holly squeaked out a, 'nothing,' and quickly ran out to do other things she needed to do rather than worrying about fairytales.

Several of the students would look up to Slome, then Apollo, then they were skittering out of their seats to gather around the table of objects and wonders. Holly waited until the last moment. Standing in the back of the line, short as she was, to only catch a glimpse of the table as to not draw attention to herself, jacket pulled tighter around herself to hide further.

Baby-Blue was looking at the stones as a few of the other girls were. She sniffed the air, then recoiled a little with a scrunched look on her face. "Is the musty old book made of human skin, too?" She joked.

A friend of hers of the three snorted and gently pushed Baby-Blue's arm. "Ew, Emiliae. Gross."

"What?! It's true. Satan worshiping witches were said to have used the skin of their enemies to bind books.." She, Amiliae, as she was officially introduced as, looked at Apollo with a cute little smile. "Isn't that right, Mr. Grimm?"

  • Agnes nodded once in affirmation. "Sounds about right, Sunshine." A nickname, that was a step closer, yet one all too familiar that might even strike a nerve. It was purely sardonic in nature, and was said without even a thought to it. Trust was a rare commodity, and she values it more than money itself when it is shared. Agnes couldn't help but chortle to herself when he raised a finger. "Then you're doing a terrible job of not implying that, my dear." Another sarcastic crack, one picked up from said ally. One way or another, he was offering some assistance. When he mentioned her mother, the humor dropped and her gaze intensified. Her eyes weren't a soft blue like her mother's, they were sharp, piercing to the point that it made people either look away or they were glued to them. What little light filtered through the windows only sharpened them. Relief washed over when disproved her suspicions. "Glad to know we're on the same page then."

"The first...ally is a vampire, but he only has ties to me because of a debt he owes me. The second one I have my eye on is a sorceress he works for. She's rather...hot-tempered, seems too emotional, so I'm second-guessing that option." Agnes spoke her thoughts before taking another sip. Her brow raised ever so slightly when he mentioned that he had an enemy of his own. "An enemy, huh?" She muttered, bringing the glass to her lips and took the rest of the drink down. Agnes was in her own deliberation when he offered to hire her. Was she still going to do bounty hunter work? What if it looked bad on her now that she had a status to maintain? Then again, she probably needed to show how adept she actually is to those resources who start to question her skill set. Her legs stretched out, feet dangling over the edge of the booth's couch. Her elbow rested on the tabletop, and her chin nestled into her palm. "I'm listening." Agnes spoke casually.
