Born in France, Caine grew up poor, after his biological father died, his mother agreed to list herself as a mail order bride for a rich man in the United States in order for them both to have a better life.
Caine joined the Marines at 18 and was deployed for 4 years.
After his step fathers passing, he was left with his fortune, closing most of his father's run down hotels, selling them to build what is the Lotus Hotel and Casino.
His mother died of cancer, never being able to see the finished product of his dream establishment.
Many profits of the Lotus help discharged military with no where to go, offering them jobs or stay, while other money is used to help families who have lost those in war.
Although Caine seems kind, he has a dark need to relive the bloodshed seen overseas.
The basement of the Lotus is used to inflict torment on those who have not paid dues and the wealthy are welcome one Saturday of each month to see exactly how it's done – for a fee of course.
