 " Keep staring...

and you're gonna look as fucked up as me."

Upon first sight, Kei stands just above average height and strongly built, about as physically capable as a human around his size could be. Jet black hair falls forward in somewhat of a messy and haphazard manner, shaven close on the left side of his face. The ends still show remnants of being dyed a dark blue color once upon a time.Where one would expect a face, his skin gives way to scarred bone: a fanged | SKULL | of strange nature, sharing both human and feline attributes. Where eyes should be, hollow sockets linger. The interior vague as if a material is seemingly too dark for light to penetrate.

His ears themselves rely on a different frequency to hear, thus, his hearing is higher than that of a human. Things like humming from electronics, machinery, and other high pitched noises can give him a headache in a matter of minutes. He's gotten a knack for being able to understand other creatures as well, such as felines, canines, and an assortment of others.  A feline's tail lingers likewise, topping off the strange choice of demon physiology that is the man's make-up. It serves a use in aiding the adjusting of his balance. With little chance of facial expressions... one must rely mostly on his body language.

(For example. If he's coming closer it's probably to try and kill you.)

And so, he made his home on streets altogether meaner and

dirtier than those others would walk. A place where blood runs

in the gutters and the occasional screams in the night drown

out the music. "

His residence is within an old abandoned theatre that had been shut down for many years. Originating in the 1800's as an opera house, the establish eventually shut down following the death of a young singer by the name of Ophelia. Left vacant for many years after, in 1920's renovations went underway to turn the building into a motion picture and small performance theater. A short thirty years after, the productions stop and it resumed its role as another vacant building in the city. For the few that wander in on accident, the inside is coated with a layer of dust other than the few parts he inhabited since the curse. He had chosen a room off to the side behind the theatre stage with a back door, as well as a few others that remain oddly locked. These maintained parts are surprisingly well taken care of despite his destructive nature. The theatre also has quite a large population of cats that he occasionally takes home out of pity. The demon considers it as 'paying rent' seeing that the strays came long before he.

Kei's second residence is an apartment in close proximity, following his release of the curse and in gaining his humanity back. Two blocks down and one to the left of the theatre building, he pays a landlord a royal sum to ask no questions and to take care of utilities on a six-month basis. He spends his time there only occasionally to sleep and when cold; it serves as a retreat from his mercenary work. While nothing special, it serves as a link to humanity he had otherwise been lacking.

Part 1Part 2 |

The wrong person walked into the wrong place at the wrong moment.

What happened on that night, as a result, he lost his life. Or rather, what little of a life that a homeless kid on the street could have. If you think he died, you would be both right and wrong. He lost a life. His old life, and he wouldn't be getting it back. The wrongful footsteps into an abandoned theatre building were lead with the intention of refuge. In agitating the spirit which still lingered within the ruins, what it would bring him would be five years of solitude to his name. What was once flesh withered to scarred bone. What were once eyes became hollow sockets. What were once teeth were turned to fangs. A loss of humanity and in place, something far more demonic to have altered his being. The breaking point that started the transition from the unfortunate teen, to a promising sociopath in the making. In a way, he lost everything including his humanity. He gained something far stronger all the same

He lost a life. What he gained was nine moreIt seems like something just short of immortality, doesn't it? A 'gift' of immortality that would quite literally be the death of him.

" You thought you could kill me off that easy..?  "

The cat has a reputation as long as the Empire State building high. Murder, theft, drugs, vehicular homicide, you name it, he's done it, even several times over. Being a bit of an anarchist, he has little respect for the law and truly believes his actions will never catch up to him. Adding in some supernatural ability and what seems like the promise of immortality, he somehow manages to keep himself under the radar.

He has a habit of destruction on impulse in which a life can sometimes mean little to him. With empathy being a rather lost emotion for some reason or another, the ideals or opinions of others occasionally fail to register, and can often mean little to the demon.

Kei is well known to have a fixation on weaponry and has amassed himself a small collection over the last five years or so. Mainly knives and guns, with some past dabbling in explosives. Hardly ever does he make a move without a weapon on him at all times.

There isn't much hospitable about the man upon meeting. He's aggressive and overall has a short temper. His words come out as bitter and laced with sarcasm. Kei finds enjoyment in making others squirm, whether it be by his cursed appearance or the smartass comments that leave his mouth.

To the few he has not driven away, to those that he considers good company, odds they aren't as fooled. He still has quite a bit of human at his core. He's stubborn. Sometimes clingy. Shows some emotion. Even genuinely smiles from time to time.

Note-worthy "Possessions"

Sometime after the release of the curse, finding himself in what was seemingly another rock bottom in his life, it was a familiar face passing through the city that had pulled him back onto his feet and ultimately gave the man a chance at a meaningful livelihood. This came after an impromptu hunt with none other than the Huntress, Alice D. O'Malley. An acquaintance turned friend by strange circumstances, later turned into teacher and coach that he would trust more than anyone else affiliated with. It was for the second time that she had suggested he joined the ranks of the Hunters distinguished within the organization, to which, in search of a purpose other than dwelling on the streets he finally accepted.

The process was to begin with an opening interview, which started with discussing his reasoning in applying. In all honesty, the man hardly knew what he was doing there. Aside from the simple fact that he had nothing else promising to turn to. Explaining his tiredness for doing empty mercenary jobs on the street turned to the explanation of the curse to which he was plagued... and ended promptly with a gunshot wound to the side of the head. With his justifications found as credible, as well as the shock that persisted to Alice's 'demonstration' of the curse's ability, he woke up to the news that he was allowed forward. Once his ears had ceased ringing a gruesome obstacle course to prove as physical fitness testing, and finally, a week's preparation came to pass and he was onward to his first hunt in New Orleans.

The first and second hunts came as successes, to each not without their own fatalities. A man once thriving in a lifestyle without boundaries nor morality now is doing what he can to walk a line between right and wrong for the first time in his life. The trials thus far have lead to injury, physical strain, and some emotional trauma heading forward that he didn't quite know he was capable of expressing. Regardless, two hunts into his certification, something has hit home to the point where Jason/Kei is certain of continuing onward. Of his own will, as well as full motivation that he isn't about to let Alice down.

If anything at all could be said in a description to the cat, it would be that Kei is someone that is generally hard to be around. As a person he's irritable. Inhospitable. Violence-prone, sharp with his words and quick to anger. Disregarding the feelings of others. There is no aspect of his personality that suggests he'd ever truly learned how to keep people around him without eventually causing a falling out, usually sooner rather than later. And so, that is the common outcome at hand. Close to someone one day, discarded the next when subconsciously it seems to reap no benefit on his behalf.

With everything stated holding truth, it could be also said that he's trying. Whether that be coming to a truce with his daughter Agnes after several years of conflict, or taking on a social role he'd never been accustomed to as he carries on with the Society.  In the end, he's gained some familiar faces, each for better or for worse.

Alice is hands down one of his closest friends he has to his name. She has been there to pick him up from some of his harder times and is ultimately the person responsible for getting him onto a straight and narrow path with his life. As a result, he's willing to do whatever he can in order to keep her around. Whether that means having her back for each hunt or being invested in taking as much hell from her as he needs to, in order to get past the wall she's put up around herself.  (x1)

Agnes is Jason's one and only biological child. Due to the fact that he had never wanted nor expected to have kids, he was absent for almost the entirety of her upbringing. Fast forward fifteen years, the two had clashed from the moment they had met as Agnes got her due revenge, the two fighting even up until present meetings. There is no telling whether the two are on good or bad terms, as it changes by the week. As of recent, the relationship between the two has improved with Agnes' time spent in holding at the Hunter Society's Headquarters.

A seasoned killer and a trained thief- what better combination is there? There’s no telling how the two interact with having such little in common between them, or how Jason ever came to take a liking to the man. Either way, the two have gotten into their fair share of mischief, and have emptied several glasses at the bar on occasion. More or less from alcohol-induced talks, Cooper is a person Jason’s found himself opening up to, offering information Alice or Agnes wouldn’t get a hold of so easily.

Alrighty, so I'll say it here now so you can't get nearly as mad at me later.

An advisory warning: Kei is an offensive character. He is built to be an asshole. Expect violence, language, gore, and so on to be a possibility in writing. Also be aware that he has a habit of meeting people and then essentially 'tossing' them if they no longer seem beneficial. It's a built-in character flaw, he's workin' on it. Expect harsh words, blood, possible falling outs, and general abrasiveness from him if you choose to move forward in writing. With all that being said I give you full permission to kill Kei as long as it fits into the plot reasonably. *Shrugs.*

Also please know and be prepared for the fact that I inevitably tend to choose favorites on who I respond to first. Some plots are older than others. Some hold more gravity on the character than others. This comes less as a personal reason and more for the priority of keeping character development rolling.

Secondly, as the writer, I prefer long-term plots unless we plan otherwise. This means I'm looking far into the future, and anything that happens within plot has the possibility to affect Kei's overall story, and even tangle with other stories. Finally, I am a site Admin (as you may already know by now). Feel free to come to me with any questions you have regarding the site, coding, issues in the community, or if you just feel like bullshitting. I'm around.

  • "Aye, ya pissed off Nes before, ya know she be gettin' in yer head. Ya piss off a Russian, a full one, an' they rip yer head off." She shouldn't need to tell him that, he should know not to say anything that might set anyone off, and it was out of hospitality of the a man that called them here that they were able to take this room for free as they were, didn't need that tarnished.

The phone more or less were strings that were pulled by Neseva. Hunters often didn't get high tech stuff from the HSHQ until they were fully into being a hunter, that they were worth the investment. Nes wanted to do something nice for him, and it was his final hunt, he deserved it. Not to mention he had saved her ass few times as well, she could give him more than just a thanks or tormenting his head whenever he saw fit to. It was nice to be nice sometimes.

Alice made a face that he brushed it off like that. If he didn't want to say fine, but don't bring it up in the first place. Whatever, see if she cared. Which she didn't. So what. She got his bloody present and handed it off to him, the leather wasn't anything that shouldn't be caught up on. She knew that was a dead give away but she wasn't really trying to hide it either . Not like she was any good at wrapping presents either, she just gave it right on to him and watched the excitement light on his face. It was sweet in it's own way. He would look nice in it and it would protect him from a few outwardly things that might end up getting him killed. He had more places to put guns. Might even pop off a few grenades like she often did. It was almost a running gag now, but it was easier to say since she was the one that was not getting blown up.

Great, now here came the mush. Alice turned her head to look at him, rubbing her clothed arms tiredly then awkwardly scratched at her already messy head. "Um yeah. ya don' need to say that." She didn't want to accept her feelings, or his. She would rain check it, they didn't need to bring that up, didn't need to be said, man, he was still going. "I mean, its me job to do it." She pointed out to him now. He needed to do it with a mentor after all, he and Nes both, they couldn't very well do it on their own. They could have gotten another mentor, maybe, but what fun would that be? Not like Alice was doing anything. "Yeah, yer welcome." She finally said to him. Turning her head away so that she didn't have to look at him getting all choked up about it.

She turned to him, watching while he got out his own little thing. Her eyes silently went to his chest where the necklace was, her own was safely pressed against her collar bone where she was seldom to take it off. Holding her hand out she took the awfully wrapped package, as though that's what it even should be called. Not like either of them really took the time to try and wrap it anyway. She looked up to him than down at it. Pulling whatever it was out of the bag and letting it drop in her hand, bringing it up to eye level to survey it.

  • "They wouldn't have listened if we did er didn't anyway." Alice coursed, "They don' care that we be here to help, just that we be here to deal with it. These people are to themselves, ootside people showin' up an askin' aboot the dead ain't the best way to be helpin' them. They want us to just go in and figure it oot, not sit around askin' who what an' why. They want blood." Alice understood that. She had that same mindset as a kid when she was hackin' and slashin' anyone that kept her away from getting to her sister. She was trying to stay hidden though, and Alice only grew to hate her. "Lets hope its talk fer helpin' us, an' no' tryin' to run us oot."

She was still waking up in her own way, sleeping too hard for her own good. She felt groggy and heavy. Not at all on edge as she should be. With how her dreams were it was a wonder how she was still going like this. With what she saw.. Bah, didn't matter. Open the fucking present. "I don' fuckin' know." She then snapped in a growl. Oops, looks like she heard it anyway.

When he turned the phone on it blinked with the HS logo of the skull and the sword before flicking to the home screen with Jason's Name in the middle, asking him to set up the device. It would be done at a later time when he could actually put the information in, but it was his, his full fledged phone. One step closer into actually being the hunter he was training to be. It wasn't so much as getting a card to prove it, but getting through the zealous and tormenting hunts to earn the spot to get the card.

"What?" She looked at him, her brows drawn down, even in a groggy daze she still looked pissed, clearly not seeing the mistletoe, not that she wanted to.. Her hair was tussled around, the brown roots evident at the top of her head and into the blue ends, she might blame being busy on the hunts to not change her hair, but then she had done it before, hand't she? This was something different, but not something that he should be thinking about right now.

Alice flipped off the covers and stepped onto the cold wood to walk to her own bags near the door. The duffel was open as she reached around and pushed things aside, clanks of guns and items then a large amount of noise as she pulled out a long, thin but bulky box. She came to sit at the edge of the bed and threw the box towards him lazily. "Um, yeah, happy Yule."

The box looked oddly like what clothing would come in, and sure enough, it was exactly that. When he opened it the sweet but leathery smell of a hide was sniffed. And a look down proved why. He was presented with a leather jacket. Black, as they often were, this one reflected the light and showed an intricate detail in the stitching, very heavy duty, very fitting if he pulled it out. "Its.. ah, it's custom made. Ya have holsters inside, an, its mostly bullet proof. In main areas. Real hunter jacket, keeps off venoms er the warst of gas's lots of magic ebbed in it. Ya know.. Pockets to hold things in, guns an' all. Ya need good armor, an this is a head start in it." She half assed a smile, it never went to her eyes. "Yer welcome."

  • Alice didn't move when he stepped form the shower. Even when he was getting the rest of his clothing on and asked her how she had slept. She slept fine, if not for a swirl of darkness in her dreams where she used to dream of nothing. She was conflicted and trying to stone it over with her own self pride and lack of reassurance that everything would be alright. She didn't care, didn't need to. It was just a lack of a dream, no biggie. Her mind was fine.

After a few more thumbs on her phone she laid it down on her chest while she turned her body to look at him. Taking in that he had took a shower then nodded. "Aye, slept fine." Better than no answer at all. She sat up and rubbed her fingers through her tangled hair. "They ain't just feedin' fer them." Alice commented, possibly answering where it was Nes went as well. "Small villages like this, cannae waste resarces on every family. They be feedin' fer the lot of people too. Its a good time fer us to see how they are, get an idea of how scared they are aboot the attacks. Maybe find out a lil mare on what's happenin'." Business as usual. Even a dinner wouldn't just be a dinner.

Letting that slide while she woke she looked over to Jason's side of the bed and to the present then sighed. "Look like Nes got it fer you too." She plucked up her still wrapped present and waved it. "It's Christmas after all. Guess it be a better time than any to be givin' ya yers too." Wait, she got him something? Sounded like she was just rambling about things. But how particular of her.

"Well, open that one, I'll get yers in a sec." Right now she pulled the wrapping off of her own and stared down at the box. It had a few tea bags, then a gift card for somewhere. Alice looked over the tea bags, leaving Jason to get to his own box. Should he sit down and open it he would find it to be oddly heavy. Getting it open revealed a sleep, black phone that pas thick on the edges and the back showed the symbol of the HSHQ. Looked like he earned his own phone in the ranks. He had to assume Alice's wasn't just some rinky dink one from a store. Hers was reinforced and was hooked directly to the HSHQ, not to anything outside of it. Now his was too. There was a note in side as well written from Nes. It read:

Jay, my man. This here is a phone, bullet proof, water proof, spell proof, hack proof, lots of proofs just for you. It isn't a card but it's a step to say that you're becoming a hunter, good job. I call it the 9-lives phone. Anything that should kill you won't kill the phone. Cool huh? Enjoy!

PS. Look up. You're welcome and use it wisely.

    Neseva out!

God.. what was up? If he looked up, his eyes would follow nothing but ceiling then, at the end of the bed, wrapped in red ribbon and would hardly catch the eye was mistletoe. Look at her trying to get them hitched. He might kill her for it, but in some ways she didn't care, he only expected a thank you from it.

  • Ah well, no need to press, he didn't need a lecture from her, especially about it. So Nes just did the good thing and left it alone. They had enough to think about, and sleep was on that top priority at the moment. Christmas was something that always made her happy, but simply that was because she had the most perfect little life growing up. Sure she was left out of doing things as a kid because, hello, weird, but she still had an innocent love for such things. And it was okay, she knew Santa didn't exist.

Alice gave a look to him with that comment. Sure. That Christmas dinner was fun, from all angles. The tea Nikki had gave her had long since been finished. Tea went fast with the Irish woman, hunts or not. Among other things.. it was okay. Everyone seemed to have a good night.

But sleep was-a-calling and the two girls made sure that they were fully into it. It might have took a few times for Alice to fall. Waking up a few times only to toss and turn about until she was in a better position to fall asleep. This might have also helped the pillows that were carelessly tossed. If this was going to be the result every night they stayed there than it was a wonder she eve attempted to put it there in the first place. Point? It had not woken her, but in that affect she had inched closer towards him, but not enough to cross that line.

When he woke to the light, the box, the smell of food he did not see a Nes oddly. She had long since been gone. Alice was still passed out. Laying on her stomach with her cheek rested to the pillow soundly. He getting out of bed didn't bother her at all either. She slept through his shower which was all to himself. Any look at a clock around it it would tell that it was around eleven in the morning. When he got out of the shower she had turned herself so that her back now faced him, but it looked like she was flicking through her phone now. No more sleep it looked like. What a lovely morning.

  • "Why wouldn't they celebrate it? It's a freezing damn fortress here, they're huge people that probably have moose and bears for pets and they can celebrate it when they damn well please. I'm pretty sure it's not the same as what Christmas is like out int he America's. My family and I have only celebrated that, but dad does teach me a lot about the Russian culture too. It's more of the spirit of it, being around each other. Funny traditions. Mistletoe, festivals, food, company. Roasted pig has got to be the best part about it though. Best thing ever, no doubts about it."

"So, it's to be assumin' we are in some family's home aboot to celebrate a Yule with em."

Neseva thought about it and smiled. "Yeah! You, or we can help by getting rid of what's going after them. So that tomorrow we don't have to feel guilty about stuffing our faces with stuffed pig! Anyway, goodnight!" She flopped over, proceeded to get herself comfy, than presumed with attempting to fall asleep.

Alice took the insight to wait for Jason to get his baring into order by getting into bed before she switched of the bedside lamp. The crackle of the fire was still going in the place and it lit the room with it's orange glow but at least it kept it warm enough. It was like a central heating with a fireplace in each room it seemed She silently wondered to herself how it was they were able to keep them going and keep it so warm but concentrating on the mellow of it she was quickly into sleep.

Thankfully there were no early morning roll calls. They were not forced awake and there was no pinchy Russian innkeeper who was forcing them out of bed to clean. It would have felt like a typical Christmas morning with the rich smell of food in the air if not for the fact that they were on a hunt. On Jason's side on a table that was on his own side of the bed rested a small box, same with Alice though hers was more slim. The barrier between them had been broken, to whatever extent it was would depend on just how tangled they were, but the pillows had long since been forgotten, just the stream of heavy light through thickly curtained windows, and those little presents to greet them.

  • Harlem night lights were a hell of a show to watch. Her robin egg blue hues stayed locked on the window, knees hugged against her chest as she coiled against the couch. Soft snores murmured from the single bedroom of the apartment where her grandmother slept, and on the floor beside her lie her twin sister, Cassiopeia. The loud crackle of police sirens sounded off throughout New York and Sirius Versailles couldn't take it anymore. She was up, pulling off her pajama shorts to replace them with skin tight black jeans. She merely slipped on an old Adidas hoodie over her Guns n Roses tee, running fingers through chestnut brown locks in preparation for a black beanie atop her head.

Sirius snagged her trusty old bag, the bag that held everything that allowed the two sisters to make it across America in tact. From southern California to New York to be exact. Carefully, she tugged the bag over her back and pried open the window as quietly as she could. Sticking one long shapely leg beneath, Sirius was quick to morph into the form of a young Siamese she-cat, allowing her to slip down from the apartments heights.

She let out a mrrow of surprise as the heavy bag dragged her down, however thanks to her feline reflexes, she landed on her petite, delicate paws. Muscles contracted as little mestizo returned to human form, and any passerby might spot a glimpse of the sketchy scene in the Harlem alleyway.

Slinging the bag over her shoulder, Sirius made her way from the alley" fishing in her pockets for a Camelback cigarette. She grunted as she could not find a working lighter. "Fuck." She murmured, however upon tasting the air, she could smell the presence within the shadows. Was it her father? No. Her mother? No. No? Then Sirius couldn't care less. She continued down the street, tapping the nearest poor chap on the shoulder. "Aye. gotta lighter on you?"
  • "What does it matter how old he is?! How old are you compared to Alice, huh?! Not like we did anything. I'm right up there with miss virgin over here!" Nes motioned her hand to Alice who at that point backed out. She wasn't ashamed of her status with that, Hell, more power to her. And sure, good to hear that the kid wasn't out whoring herself. Especially with some mystery demon kid. Pam would blow a catgut knowing that Nes was out making buddies with them now. Well, besides Jason of course. "Yes, I met him on the hunt. I'm actually helping him. Helping him right now too so shut your yap and listen to your stupid music already. GOSH." A wayward glance from another passenger on the plane, be it sympathetic or upset at the teen, Alice shot the finger towards them and let that be that.

Plane ride out the way, even worse plane ride done, car ride done, now they were at the hotel, warm and cozy, horray. It was the calm before the storm that was about to happen. The trio didn't know yet what they were really going to be hit with, but it wouldn't be something to sit around and wait on. The moment that they were god and ready again they would be off for the real portion of the hunt. But even the people who called which must have been the man whom came to get them, Sasha, could not expect for them to run on an empty tank like this.

Once they were settled in the room and getting situated who who or where people were sitting Alice couldn't argue or care too less about it. Fine, they'll be sharing a bed? He better be on his side of it if he knew what was dame good for him. Nes enjoyed the conflicting emotions between the two of them. One was pleasantly fine, the other would bitch and groan for as long as they weer there but she would keep it to herself. No way in hell was she about to let the teen know that she was going to be well, fine with it, in fact. But to hell with hat. it wasn't going to be said, get it out of his head right now.

Nes, when she was looked at gave a wink to Jason, but said nothing more before he disappeared behind the bathroom door and the two girls got to changing. Alice had flannel pants and a long sleeved shirt, because no matter how warm it was in the room now there was no guarantee that it would stay that warm. Nes was fashioned similar, pants and a shirt. She threw more logs onto the fire that would help them further through the night than settled into her own bed with a yawn. "It's Christmas tomorrow."

Alice looked over who was now on her side of the bed that she claimed, a pillow, well, a few of them, placed between the two to keep him on his side under the covers. "What are ya talkin' aboot?"

"Russia, it's Christmas tomorrow for them." She replied with a grin. "Why do you think Christmas stuff is still up down there?"

"It didn't occur." Alice mumbled to herself and she kept her back to Jason whenever he got out of the bathroom and came to bed as well. "Never thought hey really celebrated it."

"Yeah, we do. But ya know. Fit to where it is out there in America. Unless you have a present for me?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

    "Sod off."

She grinned. "Fine, fine. See you two tomorrow." She turned away from them and made a show of taking up as much of the bed as she could with her small body.

Alice rolled her eyes, but said nothing while she waited for Jason to join before turning of the light, sleep would be a small hassle, but it wasn't impossible.

  • "Nothing. It was nothing, shut up. You're not my dad or something." It was really easy to believe that she was still just a kid out in this dangerous hunt that could very well kill her. Most kids when they put in that form that they want to be a full hunter at 18 take months or years even to find a mentor that will take them through the trials. It's a long and unforgiving process. Neseva lucked out, she was neither 18 or had to wait for a mentor, she was lucked out with Alice and Jason, it would have been only the two should Nes have been told no. But her mother knew better, knew that if her daughter wanted to get out she couldn't tell her no and keep her in, because in all honesty she would have done it anyway, later in life, it didn't matter.

"He's just a friend, yup." Had her mother asked? She couldn't recall, still, she puffed up her chest and replied, "Yep, just a friend. Friend that I helped in a hunt and stuff." She grew more nervous the more that he was pressuring. In and out of her brain, she glared over at Jason, "he's a demon. Okay. Leave me alone."

Even Alice glanced over. Well, look at the rebel child.

"Shut up!" She shot at them both now. "Damn, some peoples kids man." She would leave it at that, and it better stay at that.

Meanwhile on the plane she was cackling like an animal, just listening to Jason's thought about the adorable fluffy puppers as she called them. Rubbing their furry cheeks and even encouraging Jason to come join along because, as if he would ever do that. He was damn near shaking in his boots. Alice found some amusement in it too, she just was not as open about it as Nes was, the dogs looked happy though. Well fed and trained enough not to just come trotting up to people, much to Jason's happiness more than likely.

Out of the fridge and into the fire, the culture shock was a little new to Alice even. She had been to places that lacked a sort of lifestyle that one might have in a city, or even on a ranch, but these people were living on the bare minimum. While great it was still strange. They made their own laws out here, death with bad, death and food in their own way, and yet still they were surviving, striving, and making a name for themselves out in the middle of no where.

Up in the room however was a different story. Alice new it would be selfish to ask for two rooms, they did not have them to spare and they were lucky that they were even provided a place such as this. The bedside lamp in the middle of the two huge beds provided just enough light to fill the room in a strength warmth. There was a fireplace going, Alice might have a little trouble sleeping with it on but that was the main scarce of warmth in the room, she would just have to get over it, and sleeping in bed with him too, since Nes wasn't about to give up her own, not without spewing some nasty things that was.

"Damn right I will." She shot at Alice for even thinking it. The huntress glared than sighed. Another walk around the room and there was a small bathroom with a walk in shower, there was barely enough standing room but at least there was pluming and electricity, even if it was on a minimal amount. No TV's int he room, no coffee maker, they would have to do most of anything by hand.

"Well, you're the guy, in the bathroom to change you go." Nes ushered, waving her hand at him. Because regardless of anything, she was jettlagged. Wanted to try and sleep, and to be honest that bed felt like heaven. Memory foam mattress and a butt load of blankets, it would be like sleeping on a cloud.

Alice agreed with Nes on this one though she was not past just changing right then and there. Not like she hadn't done it before already.

"Ohhh?" Nes quipped, only to have a pillow slapped into her face.

"Shut it, swine! Jason! In the bathroom!"

  • What? Nes suddenly spouted as if she was surprised that he caught what little... or lot... she was doing on her phone. Like a deer caught in headlights Her disturbingly yellow eyes stared at him with distrust until she got over it and let go of her locked up features with a nervous laugh. "It's nothing." She stated. "He's.. He's just a friend. A dude I'm helping. It's my own little mini hunt, nothing for you to know or find out, so nuh." She stuck her tongue out even while she made herself comfortable in her seat. Huffing and keeping her phone within view of him. Certainly didn't see any goofy picture of some guy in the messenger window at all, nope. She was just telling him that they had landed and telling him not to get himself killed.

"Mini hunt?" Alice asked in question as she leaned past Jason to look at the kid.

"Bug off! My hunt!" She glared at the both of them.

"Yer mum lettin' ya go on em now? Ye? What's his name?"

"Just a guy, my hunt, go away! Go make out with your boyfriend or something." She waved a hand at both of them and stubbornly turned in her seat to continue texting while she could before the plane took off and more than not lost signal for the rest of the hunt, where they were going there was any doubt to being phone wires anywhere. They would be lucky to have full power.

Alice instantly frowned, looked up at Jason then stubbornly looked out the window to mind her own business without the snog option of it.

Two hours didn't last too long, the plane took off, refreshments were offered and almost like a blink they were in Moscow. It was even busier. Nes called her parents to tell them that they were there. Bags were grabbed and there was a shuffler waiting for them under Alice's name, because Belikov could be any Russian person here. Neseva was much more comfortable here, speaking with the people and knowing what they were saying. The shuffler was a burly bearded man. Piercing eyes, similar to Pam's but her's looked through the soul. He was dressed in thick furs oddly enough, but no one seemed to star oddly at him, it was Russia after all, wear what you eat.

He spoke to Nes when she came up, she slapped Alice on the arm for her ID which was presented and he nodded his head. "Name Sasha." It was damn near impossible to understand him, Alice just blinked. "Good friends with Deacon."

"Yeah, that's my dad. You're taking us to Nizhnyaya Zolotitsa?"
"Yes, first we take plane, then drive."

"How long is that goin' to take?" Alice asked as she pulled up her things and started to follow the man as he lead them a back way towards the flight ground to what could only be his plane. It looked a little rickity but hey, more than what other people can say. They didn't have any other way, this was a very out of reach time.

"Not long. We eat in plane then leave. Come." The eating involved was a roast he'd had made for them. Nes gobbled it up while Alice took her time with it. The plane was small, compact, but it would last the flight and was all fueled up. Once they were finished eating the scraps were thrown to three huge husky's that sat in the back of the plane. Nes had fun with them while the plane got started up and they were off yet again.

The flight was slow and the plane was loud they touched down in a village with several houses spread apart, a car at ready for them when they touched down. Everything was packed into there and finally.. seriously, finally, they were on their way to the destination. There was a mixture of snow and rain, but it wasn't freezing just yet thank god. Still cold. More rain than anything. The drive took forever, longer than the plane and it would be midnight before they rolled into a disturbingly strange village. It was dark, the stars shown and twinkled without the threat of cities. The houses looked old but it seemed like a flourishing town on their own terms. People must be very to themselves. There was an in, a few bakers shops with food and trade, than small houses spread out across the land that had livestock of their own. Dead beaches with freezing cold waters batting at the shore. It was like they were stepping into Skyrim of all places.

Alice grew squeamish, but said nothing. This was truly a change, and even Nes was surprised by it. Speaking quietly with Sasha who helped with their bags to the in that had a warm light in it. When they stepped in a woman was at the desk though it looked more like a house. Four stories high, the hotel must be family owned. Very small, closed in, but cozy. There was a crackling fire, large and keeping the place warm. A visible kitchen, bathroom and dining room. What could be detected was some off sorts of Christmas decor. Not the bright greens and reds but noticeable. She looked up as the man stepped in with the newcomers. She rose and placed a kiss on his lips. They spoke quietly to each other.

"Hunters?" She asked carefully, than looked to the three of them. "We have expected you." She tells them than stood. Walking around the desk with a thickly clothed dress on than waved her hand for them to go up the stairs where she lead them to their room. The door opened to a somewhat spacious place. It wasn't grand or amazing, but it was a place they could stay and be protected at for the time being. Two king sized beds sat in the room thickly covered in quilts and furred blankets, and Nes took the liberty of hopping on one bed, taking full ownership of it. Alice glared, little bitch.

The woman and Neseva exchanged words, she nodded to Jason and Alice than left. The man whom had trailed behind stepped in. "We discuss problem tomorrow. Night."

"Thank you," Alice mumbled to him as he closed the door than glared at Nes. "Ya cannae be serious."

"I'm serious My bed. Not like you both haven't slept together before anyway. Go go." She caught Jason's gaze and smirked. "Enjoy."

  • Sly was nursing his empty glass while he waited for the next one and listened to Kei while he spoke. Looked like they were getting a little bit deeper here weren't they? Sly would not have assumed that Jason would be so loose lipped about it. Sly had a shining childhood compared to most. He had a family that loved him. Even when they were killed right before his eyes he didn't let that sink him. Even at the orphanage ha made a sure name for himself there. He and the guys there were the light of the show, achieving in life here they were now. Sure there was a bunch of stuff that are hell up to that point. Lots of heists, loss of people, things, and spunk in life. But they got back up to it. Sly could not imagine his father like that.

"Your dad sounds like he didn't deserve to even have kids." Sly murmured quietly. It's good that you got out of that, man. But you shouldn't let that reflect on you now. Throw out the bad, do something good for yourself. Be the father to her now that your dad was never to you. Or else you're gonna go through your entire life just seeing your dad." Sly wasn't exactly trying to get under his skin, but more so to point out that there was more to life than just living in a shadow of evil, it's about making it lighter for yourself.

"One day, hopefully. We're both pretty.. Well.." They were hardly touching each other now. Certainly not in that way, but in general. It was hard to be around each other knowing what they lost. And it was even harder trying to get by it. Sly was reaching up there in age, he wouldn't live forever. Years ticked by and he wanted to watch his kids grow up and be apart of their lives. "Thanks." Was all he could say to it. It was then that the bartender came and thus the drinks were told. It didn't take too much time for those to be brought and the glasses were given to the table.

"So then don't fuck it up." Sly explained blatantly. "I messed up one once... She waz one of my bes' friends, she chased me when I was hot in my game but was there when I was low. Know what I did? After two years of us happily being together I got bored. Not with her, but with the life I had made for myself. I was twenty-two and had a great career, a beautiful woman to come home to every day and I felt like my life was being written for me so I left it. It took doing that to meet the right person. And I'm happy, finally, as I should be." He smiled, then handed over two of the shots Jason and took the other two in his hand. "You ready, man?"
