" I'm a cold-hearted bitch, but I'm damn good at it..."

The youngest, and the last, in the line of Kanes, Eleanor is a Hunter. Some call the profession "Slayer", others refer to it as a "Monster Hunter". Whichever name you prefer to give them, the Kanes, for centuries, have been tracking and exterminating those supernatural beings that make the mistake of upsetting the natural order of life; killing innocents, exposing themselves to the Mundanes- atrocities one might consider morally obstruct and dangerous to the general peace of the populace. Hunters maintain that delicate balance between human survival and being prey.

There is a theory that for every poison existing in nature, there is a naturally occurring antidote. Where a poisonous plant grows, nearby is the antidote. Such is the case with Hunters. Where there are monsters in the darkness, there are those who slay them. They are there to protect the innocent, to stay in the shadows and be the unspoken heroes. It's a dirty, horrifying, unforgiving profession, but someone's gotta do it, right? The profession of being a Hunter covers a wide range of specific jobs, from anywhere to field work, such as Lenny's particular area of expertise, to weapons development, even research and exorcisms. There are things that go bump in the night, but Hunters are the ones who bump back.

But as with all things, there are caveats. Since Eleanor's birth, the Kanes have been, for the better part, an elite group of  men dedicated to upholding the order between the Mundanes and the Supernatural. Humans trained in the occult, skilled in combat, and damn good at killing. Each generation acted in turn as an Elder to train the younger in their field. From century to century, they are equipped with a wide array of weaponry forged to give a human a fairly good advantage above the Supernatural, and the Kane mansion is rumored to have a library of the Occult that rivals those in the Hells. It is also rumored to hold a collection of artifacts to bring any museum of the paranormal to its knees in jealousy.

A petite five-foot two, Lenny is often underestimated for her size, to the misfortune of those who have thought she's an easy target.

She is agile, muscular, and highly toned from a lifetime of dedicated training, due mostly to the physical need of being able to keep up with those she finds herself up against on a regular basis. A human hardly ever has the upper hand against the supernatural, even under the best tutelage.

Large, hazel eyes surrounded by a thick curtain of dark lashes are comparable to a doe. Innocent, yet fiery, they are complemented by soft features. Their deviously sweet appearance comes in quite handy when playing the card of ignorance, a favorite of the sharp Huntress...you lure in more flies with honey than vinegar, after all..

A mane of thick hair is usually kept in tousled, sandy waves, often loose and tumbling down her back, just as often as she forgets to brush it.

Most importantly, perhaps it is a genetic mutation, or some sort of curse on her family, the blood that runs through Lenny's veins is sugary sweet, a heady scent of honey that in more than one occasion, has nearly driven blood-drinkers to the brink of Ferality. A natural goal for someone afflicted with this type of nuance such as Lenny, is a fierce, determined search for both a cause and a cure.

Although it may not always be visible, Lenny is never without her silver Colt revolver, passed from generation to generation of Kanes, the family moniker engraved on the blessed barrel. The general consensus of the origins of the Colt have been agreed upon that the weapon was procured by Eleanor's great great great grandfather, given to him by a priest who had fashioned the revolver specifically for the purpose of hunting the Supernatural, as was apparent by the smithing from pure silver, and the ability to be loaded with everything from an average bullet, to wood-tipped, silver-tipped, and whatever else might come in handy against a creature with far greater strength than that of a mere human.

"Sometimes the monsters are real. Sometimes, those things that go bump in the night are truly the things of nightmares. And sometimes, the only way to win is to be the bigger monster."

  • [ Hiya Lenny] 2352939412?profile=RESIZE_710x

  • Such foolish pride, yet understanding of the dangers she faced. The vampyre before her gave a swanky smile and gently rubed his thumb over the young lady's fingers, careful and cautious, yet flirty. "Appearances can be deceiving. People may be monsters, and monsters may be people. If one isn't careful, they may put themselves in...harm's way." He whispers softly, allowing his hand to trace up the skin of her arm, over her shoulder and neck, and eventually dust some of her hair back over her ear.

Above, the night's benefactor listened and shivered in disgust. Young immortals, always playing their elaborate and ego-serving games, attempting to prove their superiority to humans. A tragic trait passed down across the centuries, which often ended in their eventual end at the hands of wiser mortals. He disliked most who shared this quirk, but this newblood in particular irked him. Perhaps it was best to leave him in the hands of a more...intelligent being, to handle.

"However, I'm quite certain that such a lovely creature as you has no fear of danger. Tell me~ do you delight in the thrill? Shiver when something dangerous comes to play?" The man inquired, his hand now tracing the outline of her arm's many veins. His facade may very well be nearing its end...

(I'm so sorry about the long wait! I know how long it's taken to get this out, and I will do my best to reply more quickly in the future if you decide to keep the ball rolling.))

  •  Perhaps it had been just that, a coincidence or intentional, but either way, she was faced with a problem now, a bump in the road she'd have to somehow overcome.

For the beast's part, he was wound with a nervous and cautious energy. Teeth were bared in warning, his steps slow and measured as he arched widely around where she stood. The dark fur was bristled, standing on end at his back, but he didn't need to try and make himself appear bigger than her, when he was in fact just that. The energy around them was tense, but it was not through anger or aggression, rather it was of a cautious and defensive nature. She could surely use that to her advantage, that is, if she could read between the lines here. That this beast was merely being defensive and protective and not outwardly looking to harm her for any other reason than to protect something.

    But what?

One of the ears atop the beast's head flickers foward to the sound of the gun cocking and this seems to make it more uneasy as it let's out another growl. If he must die protecting his own, he will.. Vaughn has this mindset in either form. The beast cannot articulate any thought over the matter as far as trying to reason with why she was here, other than that her presense was a threat. The man would have no doubt been more reasoning in simply questioning her to learn her intentions, but alas.. the beast cannot do so.

Her words come as noise and simply that. But her tone, the beast doesn't react well to and if she won't leave willingly.. He leaps forth, snapping his teeth, but doesn't exactly make to pounce directly at her. It's a scare tactic. Some part of his brain is trying at one last effort to get her to turn tail and leave before he has to take drastic measures to get rid of her for good. As he leaps, it's no doubt startling and who knows just how she might actually react if she thought he was really going to try and lunge for her and if she did nothing then..who's to say the next leap won't be the actual attempt?

  • It's been so fuckin' long, man! Holy shit.  How ya been? What're you up too?

    I wanna' write!

  • Girl, the back of yo head is ridiculus'!

...Can I have yo numba? Can I have it? Can I have it? Can I?

  • (I am terribly sorry for the late reply. But I had to figure out a unique storyline, and so here it is, the beginning of it; as presented mostly through the eyes of one of Dracula's minions, as Dracula himself is more of a 'main boss' kind of figure.)

  • Monster.

It is inside of his head, clawing at whatever was left of his soul.
Just underneath a paper-thin surface, it lurks, loud enough for him to hear its call, but distant, locked inside of a dark room, at the very corner of his mind.
But its still there, tearing at the veil separating him and it, trying to reach what was left of his humanity.

And he fears that it is only a matter of time before it manages to break through fully.
Because his existence is linked to this monster, he has to let it through on occasion, or else he would simply wither and die, like a flower come fall.

And lately it's been able to find ways to show itself more often.
Ways to change itself, to make itself seem more presentable than usual.
Ways to change him, to make the difference between him and it seem that much lesser than before.

And so this test would reveal how far he was willing to let go of his humanity, in order to stay ‘alive’, because his adversary, he was assured...would show him no mercy for what he was, for the threat that he posed to the living.
It was a battle for his humanity.

And so it was that he walked through the opulently wealthy crowd, and it was not long until he had sunk his hook into the bait, and slowly dragged her along towards a corner, remote and somewhat more quiet.

His hand traveled her thigh, upwards and along her upper back, and under the delightful intoxication of excessive amounts of alcohol, the female giggled and allowed him to gently crane her head back, exposing her neck to him, and the veins that throbbed succulently underneath that smooth skin.

She watched him come closer as she placed a cigarette in between her lips, inhaling deeply, letting the smoke seep into her cells, allowing herself to be carried over into new plains of pleasure as he soon placed his lips against her skin, sharp teeth puncturing her skin and drawing blood and smoke, filling the young vampire’s mouth with that sweet sweet rush of nicotine, which blended almost seamlessly with that wonderful taste of iron.

But he would not kill, he would not allow the monster the satisfaction, and soon let go, puffs of smoke now slowly swirling from his blood-stained lips.
And he left her there to bask in the afterglow of his embrace, and went deeper into the crowd instead, and caught sense of something familiar.
Now he was in to means attuned to the way of his kind, but he could somewhat detect them, and he knew that there was one near. Perhaps a rogue, or maybe another servant of the master.

He did not know, but he knew he could certainly use some pointers for locating his prey, and so he began to hone in, walking towards who he assumed to be, just another vampire.
Little did he know his prey was closer than he originally thought.

  • \\Hi! Thank you for accepting my request, I'm really in love with your profile and your character as well, though the name seems oddly familiar to me...I can't exactly remember if we tried roleplaying with one another once before. But anyway, I hope you had a great holiday :)

  • Defeat after agonizing defeat...his archrival’s gloats seemed to almost haunt his mind – the sound of his own little brother, the one who stripped him of everything. His throne, his people..his birth right...over the years their battles grew less about reclaiming what was rightfully his, but instead Apophis found himself wanting to slaughter Ra in the most gruesome way. As always however Ra never travelled alone, and consistently devised tactics on keeping the serpent at bay – which only fueled his desire to have his revenge.

To kill Ra meant that Apophis would have to be more strategic. Perhaps one possible answer was right in front of him. Over the years the god took notice of worshippers who named their foundations after him, which actually surprised the former king since back in his homeland Egyptians did the exact opposite. But it was through these so-called cults that the serpent found what he was looking for: a means to bring forth his revenge.

It would come in the form of a golden amulet called The Eye of Horus, with its centerpiece being a bright crimson ruby in its center. With it one had the power to bring pure chaos and destruction onto the world. And how did Apophis manage to acquire such a dangerous jewel? Well, certainly not by conventional means. His cult stole the amulet from an unknown museum located in the near center of London, and in turn, he stole it from them.

The only thing now was that the serpent was in no hurry to leave the new land that he travelled to. Even gods needed some form of vacation, and his plane to London had only arrived two day prior. Not to mention..if such a powerful amulet was here...perhaps there were others that would help him finally obtain what he desired. But for now, Apophis decided to indulge in mortal activities. His attire was on the simple side: a white button down shirt, a black jacket, along with matching pants and shoes. His accessories consisted of a thin silver chain around his neck and various rings with Egyptian symbols on both of his index and middle fingers. The serpent now walked in what appeared to be a semi-busy city street, glancing at the ones passing by. Humans...they were such fragile beings, capable of dying at any given moment, yet they also appeared to be some of the happiest.

Speaking of which, in his human form his eyes – which were golden - were a clear giveaway that he was abnormal compared to the rest; yet Apophis never seemed to care if he was noticed. Instead he continued his evening walk while still wondering if more museums around the area were worth investigating, unaware that there were people looking for him.

  • He stopped quick in his tracks.

The beast lifted it's large head, ears forward and nose taking in a deep breath of the air. What it got out of the scent was a threat. A growled rolled low in it's chest, lowering it's head as it waited for the chance for the air to tell him otherwise and when it hadn't, the beast tore off in it's direction. It moved swiftly, jumping over rocks and hills, fallen trees and roots where it knew these parts well enough by now to navigate.

The beast only stopped once more when the scent shifted direction. He was close, the being had been here not long ago. It's snout pushed along the ground as it sniffed and followed the trail until a sound had it lifting it's head, ears swiveling to the direction, first, before it's nose worked harder and this time detected something else. Two invaders in his territory and coming closer to the library..

    That was no good.

He was torn between who to go after first, but the beast soon settled on the closer scent and tore off once more, this time in the direction of Lenny...

There is no sound at first. Just an eery feeling that might have infiltrated her as though she were being watched before a shadow would shift and something would move forth to reveal itself. The large beast comes forth, head low, ears back and growls deeply from it's chest, warning her. Vaughn is not much in control of himself in this form, but he reacts upon scents and she was not familiar and therefore he saw her as a threat to his pack..

Meanwhile, Art was moving quick through the trees, having to stop a few times as he tried to sense the human and wolf, hesitating when he realizes they were close together..

And then came the other presence. Oh man. A demon, a human AND a wolf. The twelve year old groaned and resumed his quick pace, chosing the human and his leader's location, first.
