【Virian

Late twenties
High elf
6'2

【Appearance & Personality】

The prince is tall and certainly handsome, albeit the latter in a non-traditional sense. His hair is curly and voluminous and sometimes completely out of control. His eyes are a bright golden brown with flecks of green, his jawline is sharp; yet still he describes his own face as "odd". The chiselled handsomeness is offset by plump, often flushed cheeks and deep dimples. His smile is wide and bright and his front teeth are crooked. His appearance truly depends on his expression: when neutral or serious he's solidly what anyone would call sexy. But he's giggly and good-natured, he smiles easily and often, and as soon as he does he shifts from sexy to simply adorable. With the crooked front teeth and plump pink cheeks he sometimes looks something like a bunny or a chipmunk. But even with his beauty it's his personality that truly defines him.

He's bubbly and energetic in front of crowds, and while that's 100% genuine, it's more one of his moods than an accurate representation of his personality as a whole. There's another side to him, equally entertaining but very different. Virian may seem quite snarky and even rude once you've gotten to know him a bit personally, but he soon mellows and calms down a bit once the relationship begins to establish itself. At a younger age he was hilarious and good-hearted but sometimes brash and rude, but at a later age, when he's aged a bit and settled into who he truly is, the man he would become is pure and gentle; soft-spoken and exceptionally kind. His personality truly depends on what stage of the life he's in.

【Backstory】

During the high times, born as a high elf, within the high society of Esteria's elite, Virian was born into war.

His mother, Marianlei, was the leader of one of the most influential clans in the realm, and his father, Edwyrd, was the leader of a neighbouring, much smaller clan. Shortly after the union brought on by their marriage, while Marianlei was heavy with child, an uprising broke out. It soon broke out into a revolution which ripped throughout the whole land, sending all magical creatures into a state of panic and despair.

While fighting to protect their borders, Edwyrd was captured by a sorceress, Nimue, who saw potential within the silent warrior, and forced him to fall in love with her. Together they produced a son whom they named Ellsar, and a year later, when Edwyrd came back to his original family, he brought his new one with him, too.

Although Marianlei and Nimue could never tolerate one another as they shared a husband-- for a couple of years later Edwyrd married Nimue, too--, their sons, Virian and Ellsar, became excellent companions. Sharing their childhood together, the curious Virian and the calculating Ellsar grew into strapping young lads who spent their time going on thrilling adventures and pulling pranks on their fellow kin. But then, during the height of the war, an unexpected act ruined their friendship but brought the country together-- their father became king.

After years of fighting and treachery, the country began to unwind as their new ruler shut down additional plots and his family became a strong beacon of hope for the future of Esteria. There was, however, the problem with succession. He had two sons, so far, but each mother wanted her own son to become the crown prince. Inside of the newly-established palace grounds, a secret conflict raged on. Eventually, after years of debating and petty rivalry between the queens, Virian was proclaimed the rightful heir. With this decision made, Nimue banned her household, including her son's, from acknowledging themselves with Marianlei and Virian's household. And so, the boys grew apart.

Life on royal grounds was much different than life on clan soil. As Virian was treated differently, he began to notice as the years passed that the people around him weren't the same as before. If the person held no title or power, then he had no business associating with them in the first place. Instead of having time to play outside and practice magic with his friends, he was put into private lessons to be taught the traditional faith and the savvy political way of life.

Into this environment, Marianlei gave birth to a pair of twins-- a girl they named Gwendlilian and a boy given the name Theodred. As their big brother, Virian worked very hard to protect both of the twins, but especially Gwen. Born with an incurable illness, she lived throughout her early childhood in a chair, with no one but Virian to show her the pleasures of life. Often he skipped his lessons to play with her, sometimes even taking her out into their private garden grounds and teaching her how to ride on pegasuses. Through the court physicians care, Yanz, she learned to walk, meaning that the illness wasn't visible-- the pain, however, would never leave her be.

As the years grew on and the king's power began to dwindle, he began to marry off his children for alliances. First of all, he chose his only daughter to marry the oldest son of an influential lord that controlled most of the Tecumrial Waters, ruling from the undersea city of Tethrei. Deeming her too sickly and too young to be married off, Virian protested against the marriage only to be unceremoniously forced into engagement with another child of the influential lord himself instead of his sister. A mer-elf, her name was Nanai, and she was forced to leave the ocean and join Virian at the royal grounds. Both of them were only-- in a human 'age-range'-- 12.

Nanai's father, unexpectedly, began to cut off communication, and the subject of her dowry became a matter of national importance. Her dowry was almost the entire reason for the marriage, in the first place, so until that had been resolved the wedding was pushed back until further notice. Because of this, Nanai suddenly became a prisoner at her new home. Virian, too preoccupied with his own life, barely even noticed that Nanai was stuck there. Indeed, he almost forgot that they were even intended for one another. There was, however, someone else who did notice her presence and pitied her for it- Ellsar.

As seasons changed and the prince began to grow into his ears, the trade between Esteria and Earth began to grow. Humans began to arrive in Esteria, and elves went to Earth, too. During this time, peace seemed to prosper and both lands became richer with both knowledge and materials. One budding spring, a family arrived on royal lands as the husband and father was an advisor to the emperor of Japan. His daughter, with black raven hair and an adventurous spirit, caught the attention of a rebellious and stubborn prince Virian.

Du Lei-Wei ignored Virian at first, but that only made him more determined. As two teenagers with no care in the world, it seemed as though nothing mattered but them two. What they didn't know-- because they didn't care enough to notice-- was that a war was beginning to brew between the two kinds. By the time the war broke out, Virian's heart and mind belonged completely to Lei-Wei, so

【Life  on  Earth】

Haven arrived in the year 1378, Virian experienced a lot of our history first-hand. Because of this, he has endured much more than he'd ever admit and he has grown immensely because of that. His favourite place to stay has always been and will always be France, so that is the place he dwells within the most. But, because of troubling fact that to humans he seems quite immortal, he has to deal with the trouble of living countless different lives, eventually only to leave that area and not bother coming back for a few decades or so as a descendant of his former self.

Through this strategy of always being a descendant, he has grown quite a powerful but secretive dynasty. Haven lived life as everything from a flamboyant court member to a reclusive artist, he has had his share of human life and enjoyments but never forgets where he comes from. Suffering greatly from being separated from his family for so long, he would leave in an instant if he could. For, you see, one day in Esteria is roughly equal to a whole month on Earth, so time moves painfully slow for Virian. He watches his friends deteriorate as he stays frozen. He has to endure the changes of time, all the while unable to know anything about the safety of his own land.

Despite the constant worry hanging over his head, Virian has long since decided to live his life on Earth to the fullest. In France, he owns multiple homes but prefers to stay at his manor just at the outskirts of Paris. He owns a few homes in the US, too, but always prefers to be at his penthouse in New York.

What job he holds simply depends on the time period and the roleplay at hand. But, whatever you do, don't expect the expected.

【Strengths】

As a high elf, magical blood courses through Virian's royal veins. Because of this, he holds some natural powers, but is also able to learn new ones if he puts in enough effort. His natural powers, however, will always be the strongest. For example, he has the ability to conjure objects to him with a simple snap of his fingers. He also carries the ability of telekinesis, invisibility, and levitation. Powers he has put in the time to learn are photokinesis, inflammation, and astral projection.

Other than magical forces, Virian also holds quite a lot of other strengths. He is fluent in multiple languages, an avid painter, plays the flute uncommonly well, and thinks quite quickly on his feet. In fact, his ability to improvise might be his most valuable asset of all.

  • ;yes. It was fine.  Good I’m glad it helped.  I felt like to get a better handle of the universe set up.  How the Queenpin became such a successful drug dealer. That detailing how her “”drug”” worked and how being what she was, that she had an edge over regular humans. Both being a vampire with special gifts and that her drug is easier to deal with then other drugs.  To help get that all set up.

I’ve been thinking of my reply and how I want it to go.  If he leaves without her noticing. Do we have them cross paths again or does she think of some clever way to spot him which actually gave me an idea that I can use for part of her background story now.   I should have a reply today or tomorrow hopefully.  Thursday’s is avengers day so total media blackout for that. lol .)

  • As soon as they got to the town they were staying in that night, Malory would need to start drawing this. The scene, the animals, the tusks. Her eyes drank in as many details as she could, wanting to remember it all so she could commit it to paper as soon as she could. The giants weren’t the type of giants Malory was used to as well. Earthly giants were mostly big, rock-like creatures that slept for decades, ate deer, and only woke up to find a mate. These giants seemed far more human than that.

Malory followed along with Virian, her steps careful and quiet, as if she was worried simply snapping a twig could wake the large creature. When Virian took her hand and put it on the mammoth, Malory’s heart stopped beating. She could feel the power in this massive animal. There was nothing magic about it, it was just...what it was. A large creature would have a lot of power, strength, majesty, that Malory had never experienced before. She didn’t have the words for it. This was, truly, something she’d never forget. She wouldn’t let herself forget.

It took a few moments for Malory to get a hold of herself, but once she did, a wide grin broke across her face. She gently stroked the mammoth’s fur, defiantly not the softest thing she’s touched but she didn’t care. Carefully, she started moving closer to the head, so she could look at the tusks a bit closer. She needed to see the details so she could draw them accurately later. She was so awestruck that she wasn’t even speaking or paying attention to Virian, her attention fully on the mammoth.

  • Malory had no idea of the turmoil going on in Virian’s head at the moment, as the incident was already settled in her mind. She slipped, Virian used his magic to keep her from falling. She had seen him use his powers several times before, surely manipulating trees wasn’t that hard for him. The thought of anyone or anything else being responsible for it didn’t even come to mind. What, she did it? The tree did it by itself to be kind? Yeah, no. It was totally, one hundred percent, Virian’s doing.

Once they reached the top of the hill, Malory couldn’t keep her jaw from dropping as she took in the sight before her. She had seen many, many unbelievable things in her day. But, somehow, this felt more unreal. A mammoth, multiple mammoths, a creature humans had hunted to extinction thousands of years ago, were right there in front of her. Seeing a fairy in your yard? Whatever, fairies weren’t real to most people, they were rare but still alive. This creature, on the other hand, hadn’t been seen for so, so long. When Malory got back to Earth, she would live knowing that no other human living on the planet had seen a mammoth for multiple millennia.

The urge to touch the giant creature was intense, painfully so. To feel a creature that large and powerful—it was a chance she would never, ever get again. Malory looked to Virian, her blue eyes bright with wonder, like a child seeing a fireworks show for the first time. “Can—can we get any closer?” She asked in a whisper, though it was unlikely that the nearest giant could hear them anyways.

  • [ You're welcome! Very cool page and character. Would you like to plot? ]

  • “Oh yes, lucky abnormal me, engaged to an elf price no less.” Malory rolled her eyes at Virian in a playful manner as she put her own jar—now filled with stream water—away in her own pack, getting ready to go again. She gave her body one more stretch before standing fully, putting her pack on her back, and grabbing her sword.

Now, did they really have the time for another adventure...?

Oh, what the hell? Malory was already stuck here, one more hour wouldn’t really be that much of a loss, would it? She might as well do something fun, see something amazing. So yeah, Malory agreed to go see the mammoths. Getting to see these animals in person...she couldn’t pass up on the opportunity, and damnit, Virian knew she wouldn’t, too.

Malory had to put her sword away by the time they got to that steep hill, she needed both hands to climb. But she was listening to Virian the whole time as he spoke about how time in Esteria worked. Their years were extremely short, counting ages must be difficult. Unless, elves aged differently than humans...questions for another time. But she could ask a couple now. “So...the three moons, and the sun, are literal beings? Or, souls of beings? Or...mag—ahh!”

One of the rocks Malory grabbed onto for support slipped out of the earth and fell, causing Malory to start to fall backwards. A branch that was just out of Malory’s reach as she tried to grab it for support suddenly grew a few more inches, stretching out to reach her hand. She grabbed hold of it, and stopped herself from falling back down the hill. It wouldn’t have been a deadly fall, but it would have been a hell of a painful one, possibly forcing them to delay their trip had Malory gotten hurt.

Malory let out a breath of relief, looking at the branch, then to Virian. “Thanks...” She said quietly. Because who else could have made the branch so unnaturally extend like that than the only magic person here? Because it definitely wasn’t Malory who had done that. As Malory regained her footing and let go of the branch, three flower buds sprouted from where her hand had been, growing and opening into some lovely, white flowers. Malory rolled her eyes at this. “Show off.” Again, she addressed Virian, thinking now he must just be showing off his powers to her.

  • [ Aaaand I'm back! Will be replying to everyone throughout this weekend. Hope you have a lovely holiday, if you happen to celebrate Easter ^^ ]

  • A sandal covered foot stepped onto the wooden pier. Normally the amount of emotional engery in crowds pulled at her attention in the same way white noise did. She knew it was there, but no attention needed to be given to it. As she stepped onto the wooden dock, the energy she initially felt from the busy crowded space changed. A singular pull latched onto her senses and forced her full attention to it.

Caelestra's mouth dried up and her nose crinkled in the air. The foul scent of fish washed over her senses, but it was the hint of rot that came with it. Fine blonde hairs on her arms stood on end. Caelestra recognized this. It wasn't truly anything in the air. There was no smell of rot beyond the regularly fishing business in the waters around them. What she 'smelt' was the disgust and betrayal poisioning a soul and spilling into the space around them. The emotions hit her like a tidal wave, taking over everything.

Where there had only been peace before, her mood soured. Rocks felt like they'd formed in her stomach and made her heart sink. Betrayal and a wish for vengance. The raised voice and the man and woman in front her started to break through the busyiness of the pier. With his back turned to her, Caelestra could only spy the woman's face. Even at a distance Cael could see the red and swollen eyes of a woman who'd spent the whole night crying. Her voice could break glass for the rage in it and the way it cracked as she yelled at him. Another step and the woman's emotions hit Caelestra like a train. Why did she never have better control over this?

Air caught in her lungs. Her whole body stilled and tensed in motion. Eyes widened. She'd never had emotions take over her in that way. She could feel the panic of it washing over her. please, move she pleaded with herself. What was happening? That's when she saw it, the faintest vision of mirage around the woman. She too stilled until she pushed the man over the edge. When the woman was released from the grasp of whatever held her, air sucked into Cael's lung with a hiss. She bent over, hands on her knees and coughed. Betrayal and vengance were replaced by confusion. The powerful emotions faded into the backdrop and the woman's confusion along with those of the others on the pier became white noise to her mind again.

The spirit had escaped down the same back alley like space Caelestra was sucking air in. Distinct sounds of virian's quickened footsteps pounding against the wooden dock forced her to raise her head. Eyes peered through her thick lashes. He'd dropped something on the groun. "Hey," Caelestra called softly at first. But she could see Virian's focus wasn't on her, it was on whatever he was chasing. She couldn't see it so when Caelestra stepped toward him, looking to interfere with his path, Caelestra weakly pointed behind him and her other hand sought to grab his arm if he ended up moving past her instead of practically running her.  "Your bag," she snapped out as she tried to catch her breath. Damn emotions.

Catherine watched the man, she listened to all his words in their entirety.  And, on top of that, she watched his actions quite often, if not perpetually that accompanied them throughout.  Expressions of her changed quite often, yet for the most part, her attempt was to remain neutral, because that was her safe bet here and now.  Yet, when it came her turn to speak, she eyed the documents first, which she knew the man could and would leak to the US government, if she didn’t accept his offer.  And, the other thing she eyed closely was his check for $950.62.  It was for her, just for meeting up with him it seemed, well if she chose to accept the offer, that request of wanting her to work within his firm, to then keep any and all secrets she should, or would learn.  What the man didn’t know perhaps; The woman was good with keeping secrets, she always had been, even if it would have cost her the job she had once loved more than anything- And before moving to Paris, while working her job as a detective, a well-kept secret and more had been kept for ten long years, if not more.  And, why? To protect someone else, to protect the fake that he too had faked his own death, yet not only that…. She had once protected him so he wouldn’t be exposed for who, or rather what he was (A beast).  That was all in the past though, and this was the present, the one and only reality now.  So, shaking that thought off, and those possible wandering thoughts of hers, ever so discreetly and lightly, she eyed him closely still, while looking somewhat into his eyes, giving no answer, not directly anyway, and not by word of mouth.  'To accept though, without creating a scene.  Or, not accept, and risk her entire life, this new life being exposed?'

Following his words, that offer, that check, it seemed like forever before the woman uttered a word or made a single movement.  Yet, when the brunette finally made what appeared to be some movement, it would be her hand reaching for that check, to accept it.  Once her palm was flat upon it, she let it remain there, without pulling it towards her, or anything else for that moment.  All that she did do was look up at him, while shaking her head.  Yet, without words, those shade of green-hazel somewhat would speak this towards the man, well if he could read between the lines, 'I’ll give it a trial run, to work within your firm that is, as a lawyer- And while there, I’ll keep any and all secrets, Monsieur.  Whatever you ask of me, well for the most part at least, I shall do.'  Those thoughts were all internal somewhat, though with or without words, she was sure that the man would understand.  Yet, eventually she made a sound, first it being the slight clearing of her throat before words would follow.

"You know how to reach me, Monsieur.  And, when you need me to begin, you can contact me, yes? Unless of course, right here and now, you request me to follow you, so you can lead me to where your firm is located."  'Did she have to up and leave, follow him now, so she would eventually learn of where his firm was, and where she would be working for a day only, or perhaps a month, months, or years on end? Or, did the two bid a farewell to the part ways, before he would contact her sometime again soon, well when he was ready for her to be involved with the firm that he owned?'

Time would tell, it seemed- And, all that the woman could do was wait, before she accepted the check between them fully.  As for some part of his words, as in they might find out later who sent this to him, she accepted that, though somehow knew it would be a lost cause.  ‘Why would he bother and/or care, when here and now he was getting what he wanted, right?’  Shaking that off however, and that part of this not important right now- The only thing that mattered was this final part of their meeting- Nothing more, nothing less.  And so, for as long as she was able to, the woman waited on the last part of their conversation before ways would be parted between the two.

    .

It wasn’t as easy for the man as he thought it was to get the woman to accept the offer, well if that was his thought process in that moment.  The brunette felt that she could pull the plug on this deal at anytime in the near, or far future, if she felt the need do.  And, she possibly would.  Yet, if that would occur, and be the eventual outcome? If it would be her that chose to stay, or he to bribe or blackmail her further, so she stayed, with the option of leaving become less and less possible? Time alone would tell.

  • Emery watched his calming demeanor while he spoke, she could sense he meant no harm and only wanted to help.. Which was something Emery had never seen before, such kindness to a woman whom he didnt even personally know. Nodding slowly she than brought her right hand up and out infront of her and Virian. . . Suddenly with the flick of her fingers above the candle before them both she spoke,  her voice gentle " That's kind of you for asking, when I know you've already been told by your men " Emerys green hues faded to a soft gray meaning she was in a more calm state than before while her fingers fiddled with the flame almost making it sort of dance before them.. with a warm smile her pearly white teeth showed as her eyes slowly laid over him.. she'd never been face to face with an elf before until now.

    2055948928?profile=RESIZE_710x

Pulling her hand back while crossing it back over her chest quietness set in for only a few more seconds before she was speaking once again " If staying is an option I'll have to take it, as of now.. I don't have anywhere I belong " Emerys voise wasnt sad nor angry, it was something she had been so very used to for sometime now, it wasnt anyone elses problem of how her life was.. it's something she would take day by day until she was able to be free from her coven continuously hunting her down like there prey. Emery pulled herself from her thoughts while she almost forgot for a moment in time there was this man standing before her kindly offering her help.  " Now, If you would like to come back later this evening I would be more than happy to show you my gratitude by making you supper tonight?  " Emery kind eyes watched him, looking over his ears to his fluffy thick curls than up towards his rugged sharp jawline to his kind hues that watched her as she did him.

Time passed on and Emery cleaned herself up while she awaited for the acquaintance of Virian, he was so kindly helping her by letting her stay so it was the least she could do. . . Emery brushed through her thick dark locks before making her way outside before picking some of the fresh vegetables she was growing in her small garden below the windmeal home. Emery was dressed in a soft yellow colored dress with her hair down in its wavy thick natrual state, looking out towards the valley her soft gray eyes waited just to see if Virian was near being supper was almost done being prepared for the two of them.

  •  Tension zinged through muscles when he guessed that she was in trouble, suspicion clouding her gaze wondering of this was a trick to lure her into a false sense of security. Although his offer to let her stay was kind, a little too kind.

"I might be. And what if I did stay here, wouldn't you end up painting a target on your head too?" She raised a testing brow despite the fact that he would have no issue facing those that were after her. The small amount of power he'd already displayed but her faith in that.

"And what is the catch for me staying here?" Ayesha cocked her head to the side curiously. Surely he would want something in return, nothing was free everyone always expected some kind of payment.

"I've intruded in your home, and broke a lamp and you offer me a place to stay? What if I was a thief? Or a murderer who is running away from the authorities. You're taking a big risk allowing me to stay."

"Either way, my answer is yes, I would like to stay here for a little while longer. Until it is deemed unsafe. Then I'll continue on my way." They'll catch up eventually and she would be a sitting duck if she remained in one place too long, but so far it had been a secure, safe house.
