"Something inside me has always been there...but now it's awake."

Who is Rey?

Abandoned by her parents at a young age, Rey was forced into a life of struggle and hardship on the unforgiving desert planet of Jakku. Working as a Scavenger for scraps of food in exchange for parts, Rey grew up in almost complete solitude. Although she had no friends, her upbringing made her resilient, independent and strong against any danger that came her way. Rey continued to stay on Jakku until the age of 19, always hoping that her parents would return. In her heart, Rey knew that they were never coming back.

By some miraculous chance, Rey met and befriended a defected storm trooper named Finn, as well as an astromech droid called BB-8. It was this meeting that would change the course of her life forever. Not only did Rey find herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic battle between the Resistance and the First Order, but she discovered that she is very strong with the force, an energy that flows through all living things.

Since then, Rey has had many adventures; from besting Kylo Ren in lightsaber combat, to learning the ways of the force from Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, to almost single-handedly saving the Resistance from total annihilation. At first, Rey was uncertain of her place in this war. Now, she knows where she belongs and who her true friends are. She will use all of her power to help defeat the First Order, and bring peace to the galaxy.

What does Rey look like?

Rey is a young woman with a fair complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes and sparse freckles across her face. She stands at 5’6” (170cm) and has a lean but strong build. Her hair is worn either in three seperate buns or held long in the back. Her outfit varies depending on her situation and circumstances.

Personality

Rey is a brave and strong-minded individual. Despite her difficult childhood, Rey is not a cold or distant person. She is friendly to almost everyone she meets, unless they give her a reason not to be. She has a strong sense of justice and will put herself at risk to help someone in need. However, she can come across as fairly naive as she is still young and has much to learn about the universe. Due to the trauma of being seperated from her parents at a young age, Rey does struggle with abandonment issues and will become withdrawn if she feels a new friend is going to leave her. She also struggles with facing her past and has even lied to herself in order to cope with her pain. Overall, Rey is a genuinely good person who would do anything for her friends and loved ones.

Skills and Abilities

Although life on Jakku was difficult, Rey had the advantage of growing up in an area that many diverse life forms would visit. As a result, Rey was able to pick up on various alien languages, including droid speech and the language of Wookiees.

As a Scavenger, Rey’s knowledge of machinery and parts is very advanced. She is also a talented pilot and gunner, especially aboard the Milennium Falcon.

Rey’s weaponry consists of a quarter-staff, blaster and a blue lightsaber. Despite having very little lightsaber experience, she can wield one fairly well. As mentioned previously, she is also strong with the force and can use it in several ways; such as bringing objects towards her, playing mind tricks and sensing the energy of others. As Rey is on the light side of the force, she will only use her powers for good.

  • The wolf stared at Rey blankly when the First Order was mentioned. It didn't take long for woman to realise that Ayesha wasn't following so she soon explained. The canine nodded slowly.

"So, if this First Order took over the World it would be bad? They are the bogeymen for every single planet in the entire universe?"

Ayesha's ears perked proudly at her naive understanding of such a large thing. "I guess the war hasn't reached this planet yet. My species are at war with The Saviors but it sounds so small compared to what you are describing."

The wolf finally closed the distance and sat down in front of Rey. It would have been probably easier if she shifted into her human form, but the lack of clothes would probably make an embarrassing situation. "So what brings you to this planet?"

  • "Ayesha." She answered casually her eyes inspecting the alien before her with a hint of surprise and curiosity. The wolf's posture was relaxed, tail down, head bowed slightly. "Strange... I expected aliens to be green, or something. Maybe a tail? But you look human?" Ayesha said bluntly, ears lowering at how disrespectful she sounded. "Sorry... I didn't mean to sound rude."

Taking a step forward, and another the canine slowly approached the woman, inhaling her unusual scent with interest. "The resistance? What is that if you don't mind me asking?"

Thinking back to the lives of humanity, their authority pinged back with a possible, assuming answer. "Is it like a police force?" Ayesha quickly came to the conclusion that Rey probably didn't realise what they were. "The human police are protectors. They uphold the law."

  • The arrival of the ship hadn't gone unnoticed, a large flying object that was rather different to the ones that inhabited earth. It clearly was not of this world, and left a lot of unanswered questions.

Yet the being that left the ship looked just as human as the ones that inhabited earth. The canine stood silently in the shadows of the trees, watching the motions of the visitor in an attempt to detect any danger from this being. But no malicious or aggressive scents came from the woman, and her body language seemed relaxed.

Curious, Ayesha followed the other quietly remaining hidden by the undergrowth, whilst the woman took a stroll. Unable to hold back, she eventually stepped out from the cover of the forest, stopping meters in front of her. Ears perked forward, Ayesha cocked her head to the side, the question blurted into the womans mind.

    "Are you an alien?"

  • The young man winced as she tossed him over her shoulder. "You're wasting your time with me, miss. I do not have much time." He looked back towards the beach as she carried him to the Rebel base. Several crew members were waiting for her. Once they noticed the stranger on her back one of them grabbed a stretcher and proceeded to assist her in laying him down. "Wait! You're going back to the beach alone?" He looked at her like she was crazy. Did Rey have any idea who she was dealing with?

By the time Rey got back to the beach the ship had landed. A tall horned woman dressed in a long black gown stood on the edge of the shoreline watching as a bird of some sort hovered over the water just above where the young man's vessel had gone down. He released a few sharp caws before returning to her shoulder.

"The trail of blood stops by the rock." The villainess pointed a staff with a glowing green orb in the rock's direction. "He did not leave the beach on his own." Footprints were nearly impossible to make out in the dense sand. "No matter. He was useless. Perhaps someone else on this revolting planet can be of use to us?"

  • Christian's eyes drifted frequently between Kylo, the troops which stood behind him, and Rey in the corner of his eyes. Kylo seemed more impressed with Christian's willingness to negeotiate than he was with the actual offer. Not a good sign.

Christian could also hear the length of his patience in his voice. It was running short.  He wasn't thinking his options out, he was savoring his victory over them both. At his question, Christian gritted his teeth. He had the poor habit of being honest about things when asked, but didn't think Kylo would like his answer.

    "Err..it's complicated.."

Then, in a motion completed as quickly as it began, Christian flung his arm outward, throwing the heavy knife from his hand directly for the head of the man in black. Christian had no idea why Rey thought he might be able to stop a bullet, and for the same reason couldn't imagine the attack would be anything but successful. But inn any case, Kylo would have his answer about Christian.

  • For a great length of time Christian was quiet and kept perfectly still. Christian was no hero. He killed because killing needed done and sacrifice for that cause was not beyond him. There were qualities he and Kylo Ren did share. Slowly, from his belt line Christian drew a blade -- a large, heavy hunting knife, good for skinning animals. Could he not lunge for Kylo's neck as quickly as he could Rey's? The hunter supposed only one option would get him blasted to death, though.

His eyes drifted to Rey as she muttered his name and narrowed on her. It didn't take him long to make his decision.

"Like I said, we ain't been clear on what it is I want..." Of the three of them, Christian imagined Rey deserved to die the least...and to any end, the man in black couldn't give Christin what he wanted. Not unless he were suicidal. Again his attenion on the man in black. "I ain't got a problem taken a life...but I won't take hers. Let er live..and I'll do whatever it is you want. Your a man of opportunity...you hae a prisoner and an asset. But you kill er...and I won't tell you a thing." He didn't know enough about Kylo Ren and his history with Ren, or this war to know what his offer was worth, if anything, but what other options did he have?

  • The red glow in the ship was a good representation of how Christian felt: wired, agitated, yet still somehow expressed calmly. He accepted the first aid kit, removing a roll of bandages from it, and watched Rey as she studied the situation. He didn't need her to explain, he knew already who had caught up with them, knew the size of the ship and the number of men in force. She was right, they had no choice.

Christian walked with Rey from the one ship to the next, taking the time to wrap a bit of bandaging about his head. For Christian, this wasn't all bad news. In the back of his head, there was still the small chance he could strike the man in black. He simple hoped for the right chance.

The hunter was doing a count of the troops when Kylo addressed him, attempting to distract himself. Energy like Kylo's practically screamed at Christian..screamed to be removed. But he had to focus, it did no good put Rey's life in further danger as well. A light shake of his head.

"I don't think we've been clear about what my goals are..." A glance at Rey, then a shurg. "She made me a better offer." It occurred to Christian then that Rey may be in even more danger than he was. Did the man in black want the last Jedi to kill her? If so, it seemed Christian had found her for him whether he wanted to or not.

"But let er go an it's reason why we couldn't still work somethin out." It was a shot in the dark, but he didn't exactly have much to work with. His rough count of the troops put them at far, far too many.

  • Christian lurched forward and banged his head against something hard enough to draw blood. He nearly fell out of his seat. Grabbing another part of the ship for stability(it was all a cluster of metal, levels, buttons and lights to him) he groaned, a free hand coming to his head.

"The hell's going on? Did you hit something?" Christian understood the vastness of space and how impossible that should have been, but not light travel, let alone the process being interrupted. However, the term "locked on" registered perfectly. "To the ship?"

Claiming she knew who it was instantly drew images of the man in black, and the large ship he commanded. He had to hope she meant somoene else. "This is why I don't fly..." He felt like he was sitting in a row boat all of a sudden. Rising from his seat he readied himself, but for what he didn't know. But if Rey had instructions he could respond, and if not, he could at least die on his feet. Blood dripping into his eye made him wonder if maybe buckling back up was the best actual option.

  • There was a slight shake of his head as he watched her grimly. It was of ocurse too much to ask for the man in black to weild power over simply an army. Now, there was this. "No, doesn't ring a bell. But, if he's trained...Kylo like you say, I imagine he is a serious threat. This alliance of yours...I sincerly hope you are not the last of them, too."

Things were beginning to fall into place. The war, Kylo Ren, his position in it. Even what the man had offered. Christian thought maybe he understood what was happening the day Kylo made him the offer as well. They could see, maybe just not as clearly as him. Kylo Ren wanted a seeing eye dog.

  • Christian was getting the impression more and more than this war was lopsided, with Rey and her Alliance on the loosing end. With him, now, on the loosing in. But he watched patiently as she focused on the control console. But his eyes barely took notice of the moving canister. What he did see was the concentration of her life energy -- the force -- in a way he'd never seen before. It practically grew around her, and interacted with the object. He scratched his head. When she set it down he just watched her a while, unsure of what he'd seen.

"Yeah...maybe. I ain't never seen anything like that before." Christian recondiered the odds. "Maybe you all have do have a shot at this." Then he paused remembering when he met Kylo. The life energy around him was great...if it were manipulated the way Rey's was..."A trained power like that could be dangerous. And your the last...the last of the people who learned to do that?"
