"Something inside me has always been there...but now it's awake."

Who is Rey?

Abandoned by her parents at a young age, Rey was forced into a life of struggle and hardship on the unforgiving desert planet of Jakku. Working as a Scavenger for scraps of food in exchange for parts, Rey grew up in almost complete solitude. Although she had no friends, her upbringing made her resilient, independent and strong against any danger that came her way. Rey continued to stay on Jakku until the age of 19, always hoping that her parents would return. In her heart, Rey knew that they were never coming back.

By some miraculous chance, Rey met and befriended a defected storm trooper named Finn, as well as an astromech droid called BB-8. It was this meeting that would change the course of her life forever. Not only did Rey find herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic battle between the Resistance and the First Order, but she discovered that she is very strong with the force, an energy that flows through all living things.

Since then, Rey has had many adventures; from besting Kylo Ren in lightsaber combat, to learning the ways of the force from Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, to almost single-handedly saving the Resistance from total annihilation. At first, Rey was uncertain of her place in this war. Now, she knows where she belongs and who her true friends are. She will use all of her power to help defeat the First Order, and bring peace to the galaxy.

What does Rey look like?

Rey is a young woman with a fair complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes and sparse freckles across her face. She stands at 5’6” (170cm) and has a lean but strong build. Her hair is worn either in three seperate buns or held long in the back. Her outfit varies depending on her situation and circumstances.

Rey is a brave and strong-minded individual. Despite her difficult childhood, Rey is not a cold or distant person. She is friendly to almost everyone she meets, unless they give her a reason not to be. She has a strong sense of justice and will put herself at risk to help someone in need. However, she can come across as fairly naive as she is still young and has much to learn about the universe. Due to the trauma of being seperated from her parents at a young age, Rey does struggle with abandonment issues and will become withdrawn if she feels a new friend is going to leave her. She also struggles with facing her past and has even lied to herself in order to cope with her pain. Overall, Rey is a genuinely good person who would do anything for her friends and loved ones.

Skills and Abilities

Although life on Jakku was difficult, Rey had the advantage of growing up in an area that many diverse life forms would visit. As a result, Rey was able to pick up on various alien languages, including droid speech and the language of Wookiees.

As a Scavenger, Rey’s knowledge of machinery and parts is very advanced. She is also a talented pilot and gunner, especially aboard the Millennium Falcon.

Rey’s weaponry consists of a quarter-staff, blaster and a blue lightsaber. Despite having very little lightsaber experience, she can wield one fairly well. As mentioned previously, she is also strong with the force and can use it in several ways; such as bringing objects towards her, playing Jedi mind tricks and sensing the energy of others. As Rey is on the light side of the force, she will only use her powers for good.

  • Please be respectful. I think that’s pretty self-explanatory.

  • No god-modding or forcing the roleplay to hit a dead-end (such as killing my character) unless it was previously discussed.

  • AU’s are perfectly fine.

  • No bullying or harassment towards the writer. In-character swearing is fine but I do not tolerate racial slurs or similar offensive language either within or outside of the roleplay.

  • Proper grammar is a must! The odd typo is fine, but I need to understand what you are trying to say.

  • You can expect a reply within 24 hours. If I have not replied to you by then, I am most likely sick or extremely busy.

  • I will only hold a max of 13 ongoing roleplays at a time. If you don't see your character listed here, it's because I haven't heard from you in a long time. It doesn't mean I no longer wish to write with you. However, if someone has bumped into your spot, you will have to wait until another thread opens up.

  • "Probably a couple hours at most depending on how long I was asleep." Russ said with a shrug. "I should be going to prepare my armor." Russ said turning to leave. "Meet me here in an hour." Russ said walking down the hall leaving the two there.

"Well.. Would you care to join me?" Lucia asked watching Russ leave. "I should prepare my own armor of we are to be in a fight." She said and motioned for Rey to follow as she headed back the way she went.

  • "I heard enough to understand." She said with a reassuring smile. "And I am glad to see that I did have a reason to join you on this mission." She stood next to russ dwarfed by the massive warrior yet wasnot overshadowed by him and glanced up at him. "I just wish you would have told me and I would have brought the sisters of battle with us."

"And that would have defeated the purpose of coming alone." Russ retorted with a grunt and looked back to rey. "So, when we arrive, will you know where to find this.. first order.. you called it?

  • The hug was certainly unexpected, but not unwelcome. And as Rey wrapped her arms around him, Brian found himself slowling returning the embrace. He closed his eyes again, realizing that he had forgotten what it was like to be in physical contact with another person. And just how lonely he had been.

"Thank you..." He whispered again quietly to her. This support, just having someone who believed in him...it was exactly what he needed. And he couldn't be more grateful.

As they parted, Brian nodded slowly. Yes. It was hard. Even though it was only one night of each month, the risks and consquences associated with it were immeasurable and devastating. And one mistake could cost an innocent person their life. It was not any easy way he lived, but he dealt with it the best he could.

If nothing else, he was glad Rey was taking his condition so seriously, instead of making a joke out of it which others would be inclined perhaps to do. Or disregard his story entirely. And she had done niether.

3193614036?profile=RESIZE_710xAt her question, Brian's eyes shifted nervously over to the calendar on the fridge."Two days from now..." He said quietly with a nervous sigh.

"Listen...if you want to leave...I won't hold it against you. If you don't feel safe around me anymore....I get it. It's...it's fine." He added with a small sigh of self-loathing. He wasn't fully sure what Rey was planning to do at this point, but the least he could do was give her a way out. Putting pressure on her to stay, not despite of his secret but because of it was the very last thing Brian wanted to do.

  • "Rey," russ said lowly looking down at her. "My people are hardened by years of endless wars and corruption. I fear we are slowly losing the battle as we are outnumbered by the enemies that surround us. The only reason we are able to stand a chance is because they are also at war with each other. " He admitted sadly. "But with the help of your people, and the technology long lost to us, we can turn the tide and finally build the empire my father envisioned."

As he spoke Lucia had quietly entered the room and leaned against the wall as she listened. "Between Russ, octavian, and myself, we will be able to ensure that your worlds are left to their own. And even if there are some who wish to impose their will over the you, we will come to your aid. " she said with a smile saying what russ was trying to but failing to get his message through.

  • "Then that is why we must convince your leaders to accept my father's empire." He said with a smile and rested a hand on her shoulder. "for no reason other than survival." He said and let her shoulder go. "Perhaps, instead of Fenris and Terra, I should have taken you to a real battle. To see the things that plague our galaxy and make soldiers like myself necessary." He said then looked around "I can show you vid feeds if you'd like, but it's not the same as being face to face." He said with a slight smile thinking back on his battles

  • "10,000?" He asked looking at her slightly confused. "That's it? That's what is holding your galaxy in terrror? And that runt was their strongest?" He continued and laughed lighty shaking his head. "You couldn't muster the forces to bring a force that small down and still you want to deny joining the imperium. What would you do if an ork happened to find his way to your home? Or the traitors that nearly tore our galaxt apart?"

  • "Battle? That was barely as skirmish." He said with a sigh. "Yes, those I brought were my honor guard, the best warriors of my leagion, and each is worth a hundred men." he said confidently and looked down at her. "But that is nothing compared to a full fleet. Six thousand marines, nearly a million guardsmen.." Russ mused to himself with a slight smile. "It would be like the days of the crusades, before my father retired to Terra and the talons of chaos caught hold of my brothers.... but that time is long past. Maybe this is best, to handle this myself."

  • Once inside she notice a stair case leading upward which led to a rejuvination chamber with cybernetic parts for limbs. It would appear that Rey has found Vader's secret room where he comes to heal and replace his broken limbs.  Not only that their was a medical droid who was powered off and seemed to have been offline for quite a long time.  When she entered the room the lights would turn on and the door would close.  'Welcome Lord Vader.' Spoke an automatic voice while the water in a healing tube would open as if expecting Rey to enter, but most likely it was always programed to activate when someone arrived expecting it to be Vader.

Meanwhile the Magnadroids would enter the throne room where the Helm was. They searched through the room then stepped toward the helm and silently observed it. In the end they took their leave returning to where they once were.  When they left, the very same voice that spoke to Rey can be heard in her mind. 'They are gone now, you should leave or else they will find you and they will torture you like those who came here.'

It warned as the door would open once again which allowed her to leave. 'Warn your friends, warn those who still live after the war of the Empire.  Let them know, that General Grievous has returned to strike down what remains of the Jedi.'

  • "No," Russ said lowly, shaking his head. "I feel like I should have brought the full might of my legion, and the imperial navy along with me, but instead Im going with but a handfull of men to fight an enemy I know nothing about." He said with a sigh as he looked around the emtpy hall. "Im not even sure if what I've brought will make a difference."

  • After what he had said and confessed to her, Brian barely had enough courage to even look Rey in the eyes. It was a terrible mixture of embarassment, guilt and shame that he felt and it was all flooding into him at once. But the moment she began talking, he looked up at her in surprise at the kindness in her tone and how understanding and patient her words sounded to him.

When she began to explain his own, inermost feelings back to him, he didn't know what to do or how to feel. But the realization, the truth of what this curse had done to his psyche began to really sink in for him as she spoke it out loud to him, for a moment, if Rey had been looking closely, she would have seen just the faintest glimmer of unshed tears in his eyes. Because he realized that every word she said was true.

It seemed like something that should come so naturally, but Brian realized he had forgotten to breathe while she was speaking, having held his breath when waiting for her to respond to his confession. He finally allowed himself to breathe, exhaling slowly and closing his eyes briefly in pure relief.

No. Rey wasn't the type to run away or reject someone like him. He could tell, purely from her response. Although he doubted that she fully accepted him, she hadn't rejected the idea of it entirely and that alone was reassuring enough for him.

Brian curled and uncurled his hands at his sides into fists as he nodded slowly to himself, realizing that at least for now, everything was okay. And the world had not ended because he told Rey the truth. But his anxiety was still quite high, even at this moment.

"N...no...it's um..." Brian began, still trying to grasp how easily Rey had accepted his words. "...I have no control over it. But I wish I did." He said with a small, sad shake of his head.

"And I think I was born this way....I don't know how much you believe in curses but...it goes back so far in my family....I don't even know when it started...." He added. The past was so uncertain. History itself was so vague and often difficult to understand that he didn't even fully comprehend the nature of his curse himself. But from what little information he knew, it had to be a hex of some kind. Some sort of powerful spell that couldn't be broken, even centuries later.

"Um...I'm sorry...I...I know this is a lot for you to take in but uh..." He said with a nervous laugh. "Do you....actually believe me?" He asked. Her lack of fear towards him still seemed just too good to be true.

"....if so....um....thank you...." Brian added, nodding sincerely with tears in his eyes again but they never fell.
