Summary:

Tempest is a young Arctic Oceanic Drake from a dying breed that’s been poached into near extinction for their ability to manipulate water. Since being liberated from the New Zealand royal navy’s control, he’s been roaming the seas alone for several years in hopes of seeking out other dragonkin.

Personality:

For the most part, he's a jovial type of being, lazy, and an idiot at times, rarely takes anything seriously.

Abilities:

- Aquamancy -

3744690023?profile=RESIZE_710x

Tempest possesses an advanced form of water manipulation, being able to create tsunamis, summon hurricanes at will, conjure up storms, whirlpools, or shoot beams of pressurized water at either an enemy or prey. His skills even allow him to influence the water molecules in a person’s blood to a degree. For fast travel across the seas, he can manipulate the surrounding water to propel himself at unimaginable speeds below or above the surface.

- Ice Magic -

3744691322?profile=RESIZE_710x

Another unique trait his kind carries. This includes being able to cool his surroundings, freeze a selection of water, create hardened ice spikes that can be turned into projectiles, and cause a devastating hailstorm by freezing a small portion of the heavens. A common defense move used by him is creating thick ice walls.

Weather Manipulation - Like the rest of his kin, he can conjure up devastating storms and hurricanes. This allows him to flood entire towns and cities if given enough time. While weather control can be one of his most powerful abilities, it often burns out most of his magic depending on the scale it’s being done on.

Lightning Redirection - Exactly what it sounds like. Knowing basic Atomkinesis has enabled him to draw electrons from the atmosphere until they can be charged enough to create a brief bolt and be projected where he wishes. If not done correctly, Tempest can risk frying himself in the process or anyone around him. This rare attack move doesn’t change the fact he’s vulnerable to electricity naturally. This can only be used if a severe thunderstorm is present.

Weapons:

Poseidon’s Trident - A legendary item given to him by the God of the seas himself. This allows Tempest to use more special forms of water manipulation and can be used as a melee weapon while in human form. In addition, the Trident can break any Ocean bound curse or be used to alter the sea level.

Appearance:

Tempest is roughly ninety-one feet in length from head to tail. Reflective azure scales cover most of his hulking form, with a golden underbelly and varying turquoise flippers. Three horns can be found bent back across his head almost like a trident, along with emerald serpentine irises, and webbed ears. While he lacks a pair of wings, two large fins remain on his back to keep him level in water. Gold spinal fins run down along his armored back and stop near the end of the tail.

Long ago sea drake populations used to range in the hundreds per pod, arguably one of the ultimate apex predators with the exception of Leviathan. There were many different variations of them, from their unholy deep-sea cousins to freshwater species, tropic breeds, and many others throughout the globe. While their winged counterparts inland were being wiped out, their numbers in the wild remained unchanged for some time.

With the industrial age came the ultimate decline. As mankind's technology became more advanced, so did their weapons, and that enabled them to finally combat the aquatic dragons effectively despite their docile temperament. But this was not the root cause for their elimination: Pollution of the seas claimed more of their lives than humanity's crusade over could. As a direct result, most became biologically vulnerable and died of illness. All that contamination wiped out many of their pods. Tempest is one of the few survivors of this.

Prior to being forcibly separated from his mother, the juvenile of a drake was captured and had undergone training to serve the Navy for a new program they created. Though defiant at first, they managed to tame him when a woman named Diadena Hernandez was assigned to him as his handler. She succeeded in getting him to corporate and went on a number of missions with her Draconic partner. The two became emotionally attached after a period of time.

Once the news had spread of a decision to dissect him came about, Diadena removed his tracker and turned him loose. From there, he fled from the Naval base before migrating hundreds of miles away.

It was only later until the young Dovah heard a song coming from the shoreline. Something about that melody had drawn him towards it in ways that could not be described, other than an uncontrollable urge to confront it and be with whoever was singing it. The one responsible was what appeared to be a young brunette woman, who was too shocked to flee at the sight of him. In his seemingly delusional state, Tempest showered her with affection in the form of licks, nuzzles, and even attempting to hold her. As if knowing he'd be in danger just for staying out there in the open, she chose to travel and run off with him.

Whether his love for her became willing or was a long-term side effect of her sings, the two became an inseparable pair who got in and out of trouble together.

He was a Sea Dragon, she was a Siren, and neither one had a place to call home.

Together they became an unlikely duo, like two fugitives who had no one but each other to rely on.

As they carried on together, the two became increasingly frustrated with the size difference between them, it almost became a sort of barrier. To compensate for this, he drained the Siren's blood and replaced it with his own, which held some magical properties that could convert another into one of his kind. As a result, Clarion instead became a sea serpent. It was through him that she learned how to hunt prey with her new lifestyle. Them migrating together became a daily routine.

. . .

Sometime prior to meeting a man who forged an adopted family of monsters, something terrible happened that forced their group to disband. In the midst of all that chaos, Tempest and his mate Clarion were unable to locate each other quickly enough and fled separately. Just like last time, he was required to travel alone for a second time.

Hopefully for the last.

As for his whereabouts, Tempest is currently on an endless migration, whether it be in search of Clarion, the family, or to seek something else. With no one left to turn to, he conceals himself from any boats or ships that would draw attention to himself. He'll frequently roam in shallow waters, and is known to occasionally take on human form to explore any populated coasts thanks to a special transformation powder.

Answerer:

9797513070?profile=RESIZE_400x

One of Tempest's surviving siblings, who was captured by Onyx Corp, had his memories wiped, received heavy augments for combat, and trained to be paired with a handler/rider. Like all augmented water drakes, Answerer mostly lacks a personality and only knows how to follow orders due to the brainwashing inflicted by his captors. He has a difficult time when it comes to independent thought.

Now without a rider, the modified brute actively seeks out another in hopes of being given a purpose again, unable to contemplate the idea of choosing his own path or going against what his mind was programmed to do. Anyone with a resemblance to his prior handler, even just personality-wise, is likely to be approached. It's not uncommon for someone to react negatively before Answer either retaliates or continues on.

When interacting with others, one of three things are likely to happen: Either assisting them, eliminating the one in question, or simply ignore said individual. Avoid falling into the wrong category unless he can be subdued.

Trua:

9797517668?profile=RESIZE_400x

Being a former prince from a long-lost empire, Trua is a hybrid between an Eastern dragon and a European sea drake, able to wield both water and air-manipulation-based magic. This has enabled him to take to the skies, in addition to being amphibious.

Despite the incredible feats he's capable of, he is unusually small for a Dragon, being only twenty feet long from head to tail. The former royalty suffers from amnesia, unable to remember his past. To make matters worse, he often experiences back problems due to the disproportionate amount of weight on his spine from his body structure, also mute from an injury he received to his vocal cords.

It's common for him to hide his walking disability from others, which affects him even in human form, often choosing to sit in a wheelchair when possible, or swim in water while in his true appearance to reveal the strain on his bad spine. Others may find out from him hurting himself by accident or abruptly stopping during a lengthy walk.

To communicate with others since he's mute, Trua will either use sign language, or physically write words into soil or paper if someone doesn't know it.

Mel:

9801611279?profile=RESIZE_400x

Being a biological uncle to and the same species as Tempest, Mel is an ancient sea drake who is also Trua's father, in addition to being the former leader of his now long lost pod. Said beast is very well composed due to being literally thousands of years old, he is both the oldest, largest, and most wise member of his kind, often being a father-like figure to those around who befriended him.

Having vast experience in combat, he is a prodigy with water-manipulation magic. It is said that wherever Mel is present, a great tropical storm will follow, and that his aquamancy is so advanced, that he can separate the hydrogen from oxygen, and ionize it to create a burning hot plasma, which can be fired in beams. Mel is also highly proficient in the use of cryomancy since ice is just water in a different form. Despite how devastating most of his ranged attacks can be, the big guy prefers getting up close and personal during a brawl. Very heavy explosives are needed to pierce his armored scales.

Due to his massive size, only large prey is sought after, often favoring large species of sharks (including Great Whites), walruses, and rays. One exception to this is sea lion pups, which he finds sweeter in terms of taste. Despite hunting all sorts of marine life, he does not prey on humans or two-legged beings.

  • Draven seemed discontented with her reaction, but alas seemed to have enough sense to not press her. A wise move. Zora stirred upon Zoriko’s bag, clutching the scales beside her so maintain balance. Zoriko felt her discomfort, yet resolved not to let it affect her stance.

Proudly she walked away from them now, without even bothering to look back. Not at Tempest, not at Draven. Though a child, Tempest received her command and was old enough to decide whether he would obey her or not. Several centuries of experience, wars, and countless battles became the source of her words. Yet she knew that the youth have a sense of brashness that comes from sheer excitement. Part of her hoped he would be mature about conducting himself around a beast who threatened him so. After all, they were in no condition to fight another beast after leaving that forsaken ship.

Zoriko shrugged draconian shoulders. She knew he hesitated, but alas this is a decision he must make for himself. Zora let out an audible gasp when he transformed now. Zoriko looked behind at her briefly, her expression was practically glowing. This was something Zoriko had always admired about her, even in the face of possible altercation, she’d manage to find some light. In this case, it was the presence of all the dragons. Tremors were felt now, once more. Both the pendant around her neck and the ring upon Zora’s finger emitted warning signals. As if on cue, Zoriko shifted her back slightly, bumping her up a bit and ensuring Zora’s stability, in case of sudden flight.

Looking to its source, Zoriko watched with gritted anticipation, until finally, another massive silhouette emerged. This dragon was definitely much larger than her, but not as much as draven. He had stepped in front of Zoriko now. Simply of respect due to age, she bowed her head slightly, though from a distance it looked more like a nod. Illuminated ruby hues remained affixed on him, not shifting even when Zora stirred. Her guard was up now more than ever. This gaze was only abrupted when Tempest announced who he was, but instead of feeling pleasure from meeting someone new, a pit formed deep in her stomach. She had a bad feeling.

She watched, somewhat dumbfounded as the two quarreled rather aggressively. As nonchalant as Zoriko was, however, Zora’s personality was much more irascible, much more volatile. And in this situation, she could not hold her thoughts to herself.

With a deep breath, Zora projected effectively to her audience, “If you want to quarrel as such, please take care of it off my island. With all due respect, Elders, this island is inhabited by spirits.”

Traits like this were admirable, the courage to address a distressed crowd, like a leader. However this situation was the one Zoriko was trying to escape from, she did not want to become a part of this disputation in the first place.

Ruby hues flickered to where Tempest was, only to realize he was no longer there. Without drawing attention to herself, she looked around until she caught a glimpse of him, nudging the human onto his back.

Albeit feeling a bit betrayed, she knew she could not restrict the actions of another. A glance was thrown his way before turning and walking away. A few brisk steps came before she took flight.

Tempest had an opportunity to escape but he chose to disobey her instead, but Zoriko was not going to place herself in harm’s way. Not after meeting Zora after centuries.

  • // Omg yesss. Inbox?

  • "Well, I have been flexible for quite a long time; and it improved when I joined the circus. I am able to balance myself in a high position, one such as being upside-down and on my index fingers."  Ty Lee explained.

  • The beast before her began explaining its name, and its purpose among other banter. It had become quite obvious at that point that Draven then had no intention of hurting Zoriko, and likely not Tempest as well.

In fact, its intentions were quite straightforward; a point in the right direction, toward the man who caused the disturbance in the first place. Zoriko stared at the beast before looking away momentarily. This would be when she noticed the effect of these words on Tempest.

War beasts like this one are quite short-tempered beings. In fact, her own mother used to tell her stories similar to this one; a man known as Kei disrupted her slumber, and thus suffered a brutal, gruesome death in return. If Skya had taught her anything, it would be to drop heroics, if any existed, and play neutral. What is intended will happen, and meddling seldom placates the situation.

    Thus she wouldn't.

"Allow me, Draven, to get to the point as well. We are neither foes nor allies. This is your battle to fight. Therefore I will not confirm your words. However, I do not deny them either. Make what you will of this."

Her eyes narrowed, similar serpentine irises replaced circular ones, and her hues took on a radiant, almost angry glow. Her brows furrowed, and she gave the beast a deathly stare. Within milliseconds, a bright white radiance enveloped her, as she began shifting.

This time, however, it was slightly different. She was not her normal size, but much larger. She stood in her feral form, pearlescent scales glimmering in the sunlight. She stood about 13 feet in height, nearly double her normal size. This wasn't a glamour, this was something that subconsciously happened. Raising her neck up, she looked the beast directly in his eyes, a silent message being passed to them. A demand to not ruin the peace upon this island for the spirits that inhabit.

Telepathic messages were then sent to Tempest. Messages like this could only be sent when she was in her dragon form. This too was a demand, "Do NOT move, do NOT help that human. We are in no condition to fight a battle that isn't ours to begin with"

With this, the dragonness lowered her left wing, slanting her body slightly. Zora knew exactly what this meant, immediately leaving Tempest's side, and climbing her back.

Zora's ring began glowing a brilliant sapphire, as a smile took to her face.

Zoriko looked toward Tempest. She intended to walk away. Whether he chose to ride her, walk beside her, or walk a completely different path, was up to him.

  • When she was poked, Ty Lee's balance was almost thrown off. She glanced at Tempest with a raised eyebrow.

  • As they started off, his eyes were set forward to where the sun had risen, and the Northern direction they would be headed. They had the sun to guide them for some time… before he knew it would be up to both his memory and what assistance he had in the very front pages of his journal. Noticing the other’s struggle through the trees, a quiet chuckle was heard.

“I can walk… it is no trouble.” Suddenly, footsteps walked beside the drake. When had Spencer gotten down? Surely it would have been felt- but there he was. A chill was left in the air momentarily that perhaps the other wouldn’t notice.

The subject of his hair left him pondering silently. It always had; his mind could not simply leave it be. Before he could delve too deeply into the troubling thoughts, Spencer exhaled. A small smile grew. “Not even a name, mind you… Spencer was a given name. By a young girl, nonetheless.” History blurred for the man, after so many years. He still had his select memories that came in rather clear.

Checking his surroundings on occasion, Spencer strode forward to keep up with the other with relative ease. He knew the trees would abandon them soon enough for the upper parts of the Earth Nation. The silence seemed to come as little bother to the man. He spent a great deal of his time in a territory that was just that, after all. However, when a question was posed once more, Spencer glanced toward Tempest with a bit of a chuckle.

“Neither. I try and avoid eating meat when I can. On occasion though, or when I am traveling…” Spencer’s shoulders gave a shrug. An amused smile still persisted. “Turkey.” Looking upward to the sky, the man would almost pause as something caught his attention above. A glint... a flash of something that had passed overhead, then it was gone from his vision. Speaking nothing of it, he kept on walking. His eyes went forward as he recalibrated their steps, keeping them moving in their general destination.

  • A hum of amusement left the man when he noticed eyes open… and then closed. Not one to take defeat so tranquil, he gave the drake another nudge. And another. As many as it took before he was in the least certain his words were heard. “Up and at ‘em… we have a day of travel ahead of us.” Spencer repeated persistently.

The white-haired man, as he watched the other’s morning struggle, seemed ready in his fullest. Clothes had been changed, his cloak pulled loosely over top, hood down, left to rest on his shoulders. His bag was packed, blade in tow across one of his shoulders. Sensing movement, the man stepped back to give the other space to get onto his feet. As the other woke up, he moved to pull his bag over his shoulder as well, turning back to examine the other’s tiredness still lingering on his face. When lifted so suddenly, Spencer winced and ducked his head at the prospect, taking a seat nonetheless.

“As for today, we may take our time. I must admit… I am guiding us by memory,” Spencer murmured. “There are old tricks, ways in which to not fall lost in the Nightwing grounds. Should my memory serve me right, I may get us close… from there we are searching for something that has been slumbering for decades…” He frowned to the thought. “Yet if it pays off then we have a vital ally in what war may come.” Pausing, he uttered the direction of Northeast to the drake, pointing off toward the tree line’s horizon due in the direction stated. “Finding it is one task. Convincing it may be another. Just as well, we know little of what is happening on our coast.”

Trouble showed on the man’s face, just as well as it was laced in his tone. It was eventually shaken away when Tempest’s question was posed. For a moment, Spencer fell silent. He glanced toward what white locks he could see, a hand reaching up to snag one between his fingertips.

“I know… perhaps it sounds odd… but I don’t know.” He answered almost blankly. “There… is a point in time up until I can no longer remember. I woke up, I was in a field of grass… before that point, I know nothing. Of myself, of my origin… I could not tell you a single thing.” Spencer admitted. He paused quietly once more, letting the strand of hair fall free. “I’ve come to believe that it could have been dark once. My roots are dark… it fades at a certain length it seems…” Spencer’s voice trailed off. They were questions unanswered yet, marked so by a certain distance in his expression as he thought.

  • Ty Lee's eyes opened and she lowered one foot to the ground to get off her fingers and to the ground before getting into a flexible pose where she was laying barely on the ground while her legs were pointed up to the sky.

  • Ty Lee was balancing herself upside-down on her index fingers. Her eyes were closed as she inhaled slowly to breathe in the air to help her concentrate. After all, her flexibility and balance requires all her concentration.
