Summary:

Tempest is a young Arctic Oceanic Drake from a dying breed that’s been poached into near extinction for their ability to manipulate water. Since being liberated from the New Zealand royal navy’s control, he’s been roaming the seas alone for several years in hopes of seeking out other dragonkin.

Personality:

For the most part, he's a jovial type of being, lazy, and an idiot at times, rarely takes anything seriously.

Abilities:

- Aquamancy -

3744690023?profile=RESIZE_710x

Tempest possesses an advanced form of water manipulation, being able to create tsunamis, summon hurricanes at will, conjure up storms, whirlpools, or shoot beams of pressurized water at either an enemy or prey. His skills even allow him to influence the water molecules in a person’s blood to a degree. For fast travel across the seas, he can manipulate the surrounding water to propel himself at unimaginable speeds below or above the surface.

- Ice Magic -

Another unique trait his kind carries. This includes being able to cool his surroundings, freeze a selection of water, create hardened ice spikes that can be turned into projectiles, and cause a devastating hailstorm by freezing a small portion of the heavens. A common defense move used by him is creating thick ice walls.

Weather Manipulation - Like the rest of his kin, he can conjure up devastating storms and hurricanes. This allows him to flood entire towns and cities if given enough time. While weather control can be one of his most powerful abilities, it often burns out most of his magic depending on the scale it’s being done on.

Lightning Redirection - Exactly what it sounds like. Knowing basic Atomkinesis has enabled him to draw electrons from the atmosphere until they can be charged enough to create a brief bolt and be projected where he wishes. If not done correctly, Tempest can risk frying himself in the process or anyone around him. This rare attack move doesn’t change the fact he’s vulnerable to electricity naturally. This can only be used if a severe thunderstorm is present.

Weapons:

Poseidon’s Trident - A legendary item given to him by the God of the seas himself. This allows Tempest to use more special forms of water manipulation and can be used as a melee weapon while in human form. In addition, the Trident can break any Ocean bound curse or be used to alter the sea level.

Appearance:

Tempest is roughly ninety-one feet in length from head to tail. Reflective azure scales cover most of his hulking form, with a golden underbelly and varying turquoise flippers. Three horns can be found bent back across his head almost like a trident, along with emerald serpentine irises, and webbed ears. While he lacks a pair of wings, two large fins remain on his back to keep him level in water. Gold spinal fins run down along his armored back and stop near the end of the tail.

Long ago sea drake populations used to range in the hundreds per pod, arguably one of the ultimate apex predators with the exception of Leviathan. There were many different variations of them, from their unholy deep-sea cousins to freshwater species, tropic breeds, and many others throughout the globe. While their winged counterparts inland were being wiped out, their numbers in the wild remained unchanged for some time.

With the industrial age came the ultimate decline. As mankind's technology became more advanced, so did their weapons, and that enabled them to finally combat the aquatic dragons effectively despite their docile temperament. But this was not the root cause for their elimination: Pollution of the seas claimed more of their lives than humanity's crusade over could. As a direct result, most became biologically vulnerable and died of illness. All that contamination wiped out many of their pods. Tempest is one of the few survivors of this.

Prior to being forcibly separated from his mother, the juvenile of a drake was captured and had undergone training to serve the Navy for a new program they created. Though defiant at first, they managed to tame him when a woman named Diadena Hernandez was assigned to him as his handler. She succeeded in getting him to corporate and went on a number of missions with her Draconic partner. The two became emotionally attached after a period of time.

Once the news had spread of a decision to dissect him came about, Diadena removed his tracker and turned him loose. From there, he fled from the Naval base before migrating hundreds of miles away.

It was only later until the young Dovah heard a song coming from the shoreline. Something about that melody had drawn him towards it in ways that could not be described, other than an uncontrollable urge to confront it and be with whoever was singing it. The one responsible was what appeared to be a young brunette woman, who was too shocked to flee at the sight of him. In his seemingly delusional state, Tempest showered her with affection in the form of licks, nuzzles, and even attempting to hold her. As if knowing he'd be in danger just for staying out there in the open, she chose to travel and run off with him.

Whether his love for her became willing or was a long-term side effect of her sings, the two became an inseparable pair who got in and out of trouble together.

He was a Sea Dragon, she was a Siren, and neither one had a place to call home.

Together they became an unlikely duo, like two fugitives who had no one but each other to rely on.

As they carried on together, the two became increasingly frustrated with the size difference between them, it almost became a sort of barrier. To compensate for this, he drained the Siren's blood and replaced it with his own, which held some magical properties that could convert another into one of his kind. As a result, Clarion instead became a sea serpent. It was through him that she learned how to hunt prey with her new lifestyle. Them migrating together became a daily routine.

. . .

Sometime prior to meeting a man who forged an adopted family of monsters, something terrible happened that forced their group to disband. In the midst of all that chaos, Tempest and his mate Clarion were unable to locate each other quickly enough and fled separately. Just like last time, he was required to travel alone for a second time.

Hopefully for the last.

As for his whereabouts, Tempest is currently on an endless migration, whether it be in search of Clarion, the family, or to seek something else. With no one left to turn to, he conceals himself from any boats or ships that would draw attention to himself. He'll frequently roam in shallow waters, and is known to occasionally take on human form to explore any populated coasts thanks to a special transformation powder.

Answerer:

One of Tempest's surviving siblings, who was captured by Onyx Corp, had his memories wiped, received heavy augments for combat, and trained to be paired with a handler/rider. Like all augmented water drakes, Answerer mostly lacks a personality and only knows how to follow orders due to the brainwashing inflicted by his captors. He has a difficult time when it comes to independent thought.

Now without a rider, the modified brute actively seeks out another in hopes of being given a purpose again, unable to contemplate the idea of choosing his own path or going against what his mind was programmed to do. Anyone with a resemblance to his prior handler, even just personality-wise, is likely to be approached. It's not uncommon for someone to react negatively before Answer either retaliates or continues on.

When interacting with others, one of three things are likely to happen: Either assisting them, eliminating the one in question, or simply ignore said individual. Avoid falling into the wrong category unless he can be subdued.

Trua:

9797517668?profile=RESIZE_400x

Being a former prince from a long-lost empire, Trua is a hybrid between an Eastern dragon and a European sea drake, able to wield both water and air-manipulation-based magic. This has enabled him to take to the skies, in addition to being amphibious.

Despite the incredible feats he's capable of, he is unusually small for a Dragon, being only twenty feet long from head to tail. The former royalty suffers from amnesia, unable to remember his past. To make matters worse, he often experiences back problems due to the disproportionate amount of weight on his spine from his body structure, also mute from an injury he received to his vocal cords.

It's common for him to hide his walking disability from others, which affects him even in human form, often choosing to sit in a wheelchair when possible, or swim in water while in his true appearance to reveal the strain on his bad spine. Others may find out from him hurting himself by accident or abruptly stopping during a lengthy walk.

To communicate with others since he's mute, Trua will either use sign language, or physically write words into soil or paper if someone doesn't know it.

Mel:

9801611279?profile=RESIZE_400x

Being a biological uncle to and the same species as Tempest, Mel is an ancient sea drake who is also Trua's father, in addition to being the former leader of his now long lost pod. Said beast is very well composed due to being literally thousands of years old, he is both the oldest, largest, and most wise member of his kind, often being a father-like figure to those around who befriended him.

Having vast experience in combat, he is a prodigy with water-manipulation magic. It is said that wherever Mel is present, a great tropical storm will follow, and that his aquamancy is so advanced, that he can separate the hydrogen from oxygen, and ionize it to create a burning hot plasma, which can be fired in beams. Mel is also highly proficient in the use of cryomancy since ice is just water in a different form. Despite how devastating most of his ranged attacks can be, the big guy prefers getting up close and personal during a brawl. Very heavy explosives are needed to pierce his armored scales.

Due to his massive size, only large prey is sought after, often favoring large species of sharks (including Great Whites), walruses, and rays. One exception to this is sea lion pups, which he finds sweeter in terms of taste. Despite hunting all sorts of marine life, he does not prey on humans or two-legged beings.

  • “Note taken,” Spencer murmured in confirmation, moving toward the creature hesitantly yet even as it lay still. That child-like expectation still lingered in the back of his mind on whether it might just jump up and shriek. Taking hold of the other arm, he lifted just as Tempest would, hoisting the beast partway up in order to drag it. “If you don’t mind the taste of wild game… and not the tender kind,” Spencer hypothesized, looking down at the creature as they tugged it along. He knew Irrlith wouldn’t mind in the least, and that’s all that would matter.

    . . .

The upper deck came soon enough and upon reaching it, Spencer dropped his half of the creature and moved to the railing. The beast was shouted out for, a wary glance cast over each shoulder as he looked for any sign… soon it came from the boat’s gentle rocking growing noticeable. When the water started to drain off the behemoth’s head from where it rose up above the surface, the man’s eyes darted to the source. While Tempest backed away Spencer resumed his place against the ship’s railing, watching the creature rise from the sea like a mountain taking its place. While those light blue orbs adjusted, the Ex-Rider backed away and gestured back to the unconscious creature on the deck. “We need you to get rid of something for us,” Spencer spoke in a heightened tone so that  Irrlith would hear it, whether he was prodding around in their thoughts or not.

It would take the two of them once more to drag the creature over. By the time they had, Irrlith had drawn closer. His armor-plated head dwelled near the edge of the vessel, half-submerged yet it seems. The limb-like tendrils that adorned his back were half-tucked away and dormant. Once the creature was dragged to the edge the brute inhaled. He didn’t seem to take offense yet as the creature was tossed overboard, and one of its limbs was caught in between the rows of conical teeth.  That ‘smile’ suddenly parted. Irrlith’s head suddenly rose, hoisting the creature high into the air with a gust of air that would sift either of their hair from where they stood. By the time the creature came back down it disappeared with a heavy guillotine-like SNAP, never to be seen again outside the behemoth’s maw.

Quick, clean, and painless… dead? One could assume so, but he hardly knew how the outside of the alien creature worked let alone the inside. It was seemingly no bother of Irrlith’s as he lowered into the water, his head lingering above the ship’s deck with his foreclaws kneading themselves into the waterbed.

Spencer glanced over his shoulder as Tempest started to speak, a hand sweeping white locks out of his face with his palm. He’d listen without issue as the elephant in the room took their attention once more. It had been days since the last waves, not that he hadn’t felt tremors below on occasion… or maybe he had imagined it. He glanced up to Irrlith from where he towered, droplets still coming from his armored plates.

“-We don’t know what we are dealing with, not really,” Spencer interjected at some point, his eyes out to sea as if they could show him just what. “We have a hypothesis… we have one calamity. We don’t know what beast triggered it, or where it might be down below…” Devil’s advocate. It was an easier role to take when it was their lives on the line, let alone his homeland. “We need to know more before we do anything… and we can’t afford to be hasty.” Translation? He hadn’t come as far as he did just to land himself in a watery grave. Whether death was even a possibility for him or not, no matter, it wouldn’t be his resting place. “The shore can only withstand so many waves like the one almost a week ago now. We’ll lose entire nations and whatever lives within th-

The man’s worries were interrupted by a low, reverberating hum that left the behemoth overhead. It was meant to silence, and while not meant to calm, it broke Spencer’s train of thought before it had gone too far. Irrlith’s head lowered a fraction, chin tipping downward toward the vessel. The sound quieted to a lull, and the brute’s eyes closed. All of a sudden those on the ship would feel a sensation. It was a rush of blood, the senses of where they were disappearing until…

It was a vision. They weren’t on the Invictus anymore. They were under the water’s depths, the murky blue tint obscuring their vision aside from the silhouettes of rock formations that protruded down below. They were moving, or in the least, what they were seeing was. The light filtered in from above yet until they delved deeper. And deeper. The sea turned to full dark soon enough, and it was almost as if the vision cut from one to the next. Midst the darkness now there was an even hazier patch of black ahead of them. As either of their eyes adjusted, it was the mouth of a cavern that rivaled those of the empires on land, pillars carved into the ocean stone one either side, serpentine patterns trailing up their chiseled columns…

    The vision was suddenly over.

With another rush of blood both Spencer and Tempest were left to gather their bearings. The Ex-Rider grabbed ahold of the railing as a result, holding his head which was still spinning now for more reasons than one.

“-So that’s where you went!?” Spencer uttered frantically, looking almost accusingly up to Irrlith who was now peering back down silently. Mercury hues cast to Tempest then, reassuring himself that the sea drake had seen the same thing. “I know that place,” He spoke abruptly, “I mean- I haven’t seen it, but I know of it, those pillars… they’re the same,” Listen to yourself, you’re prattling on like you’ve found Atlantis...

“That was the entrance of the Water Nation’s empire, I’m sure of it,” Spencer stated plainly, looking toward Tempest. “Our Leviathan is hiding out there.” Having got the words to spill out, his gaze shifted down to the ship’s entity then, still at his side. The obstruction in his pocket was noticed thereafter. Quietly he slid a hand in to retrieve it, his head tilting slightly.

  • With a smooth slice, Apollo separated another chunk of apple from the core and plopped it into his mouth. Icy blue eyes never once leaving the serpent before him. Daylight glinted off his platinum hair, danced along the sands and waters, and reflected back in that icy gaze like iciles in sunlight. He allowed the question to linger in the air until he was satisfied enough to answer it, first making his own casual conversation. "I can't say I've ever met a serpent before," he tilted his head to the side as he examined Tempest. Sharp teeth and talons that no doubt once they had gotten ahold of what they wanted could rip it to shreds.

In a smooth movement, Apollo stood, chucked the apple core over his shoulder and sheathed his knife in it's case. Icy blues examined the scales of the beast as he moved. Nostrils flared as he caught wind of the scent. Oh it was definitely him. The same one that attacked him. "Let alone one that could change forms." Apollo glanced to the water behind Tempest. The serpent had come from the water. If Apollo made a wrong move, he might lose the upper hand too quickly. Granted, if he moved too fast he might blow his whole chance at getting back what was his.

'You're a pain to track you know that?" A single eyebrow raised and Apollo put both his hands in his pockets. If he seemed less threatening he might have a better chance at getting what he wanted. "The thing is, you took something from me, and I want it back."

  • Apollonius had bigger fish to fry than to personally go hunting for the scaled beast that attacked him. Figuratively speaking anyways. No one ran a growing empire like his without having a crew to delegate too. He delegated this special task to Cedric, also known as Ricky, his tracker. Ex-military and Ricky was the best there was among his kind. The newborn vampire had a skillset even the oldest among them did not. Sharper senses and a sharper nose than Helena who specialized in finding her own prey. He also had a temper that rivaled Apollonius and Helena’s together. Apollo blamed it on the vampire’s adjustment and growing attitude about being what he was. As much as vampires had heightened senses he had seen in females that their emotions were also heightened. Some males presented this too depending on what part in their lives were turned.

Teenage vampires were the worst. They were forever on an emotional rollercoaster. Half of their thoughts and emotions were dictated by feelings no matter how old they were. Ricky’s achilles heel was how much he complained and how he let his emotions get the best of him. So it was no surprise that when Ricky finally called Apollo to notify him of his find that he started it off with, “I swear Apollo if you ever send me to get you fish I will rub it in your face,” Ricky scrunched up his nose. Heightened sense of smell appalled by the stench around him.

“Is that a threat, Ricky?” asked Apollo.

“A promise. You trudge through muck, filth, and disgusting days old-” Apollo chuckled and tuned him out until Ricky finally got to the good part, “just to end up on some god forsaken beach side hole in the rocks.”

“Good. And did you find him?”

    “Fuckin empty.”

“Even better. Keep a distance and an eye on it. Send me the coordinates and I’ll meet you there as soon as I wrap this up.” A muffled whimper sounded down the phone line before it went dead. Ricky kicked at some rocks and swore before finding his perch to wait on.

Apollonius arrived two hours later. He allowed Ricky to wallow in his bitterness until his attitude improved. By the time Apollo came to relieve him, Ricky was apologizing for his outburst and muttering as he went off to avoid the sunrise. Apollonius grinned, scouted the area, left, and returned mid day after taking care of his remaining errands. The only day-walker among the vampires he knew, Apollonius made his home on a small rock outcropping by the entrance to the cave. He was in the midst of cutting up an apple when Tempest broke through the surace.

With a raised eyebrow, Apollo cut into the apple and plucked the slice off the knife. “Well then, that was not what I was expecting,” Apollo said through chewing.

  • Spencer grimaced. More? He hadn’t wanted to deal with one; that’s what he got for closing his eyes in a strange place... It didn’t matter. For now, it was how to deal with the first. “If she has questions then say it was meant to be,” Spencer murmured rather unapologetically toward the third party that wasn’t there to begin with. Time had its effect on the vessel, but just how long had the creature been roaming? “If there were any beast to take care of it, it might as well be a dragon… and of any dragon, he might have the strongest stomach.” Quick and painless, or so he thought. He didn’t know the outside workings of the beast, let alone inner.

“We should get on it before the spell wears off… its half-life is an hour or so, after that it won’t be out so cold...” But now what? When Tempest had his suggestion he raised a brow. The flashlight found its way into his back pocket. “Grab an arm, I’ll take the other,” Spencer responded. He wouldn’t let the other out of it that simply.

Thus began the process of dragging the creature out of the ship’s hull, little by little, even step by step when it came to it. He kept an eye out for whether it would move; he didn’t know how the creature responded to magic after all. By the time they hit the surface, the sun was starting to rise to leave the horizon at a slight glow instead of the pitch dark it had been. There was still a slight chill in the air but Spencer paid no mind. The breeze sifted through the man’s hair as they pulled it up and out of the final doorway, across the ship deck before his grip loosened, signaling to leave it be. “Now where was the space beast..?” He murmured.

Irrlith-?” The Ex-Rider shouted as he approached the edge of the ship’s deck, hands in front of his face to project it. His voice threatened to crack a little with how little he ever shouted to begin with... and then he waited.

It wasn’t the shout that roused the beast from its resting, it was the intent. He heard it through thought, just as the two might hear the behemoth’s own words like they had inside the Invictus. The response came as a low rumble in either one of their thoughts. Beneath the vessel, the water was moving slowly. A dark mass off to the ocean-end of the ship was rising to the surface little by little, towering in scale just as Irrlith had when he first appeared from the underground. It was his full form, appearing far less Draconian and far more foreign. By the time Irrlith’s head was visible, multiple sets of eyes gave an eerie bluish glow through the water. By the time it breached the surface, all had closed but one. The row of conical teeth making the brute’s grin was clamped shut with water trickling through the gaps.

  • Once the force struck the creature the hallway luckily returned to silence. He was frozen for a moment until the echo settled down, mercury hues watching… not that he expected it to get up. Once the hallway settled down to calm, Spencer exhaled heavily. He let himself lower down slowly to take a seat, putting his back to the wall. His head leaned back against it, watching Tempest come out of his own hiding and rise to his feet. An attempt to grab the flashlight was made, hovering it more certainly over the creature slumped on the ground. As if his part was done, he watched Tempest approach it for investigation. When it didn’t move, he closed his eyes momentarily.

“...She kept that thing as a pet?” He murmured skeptically. As if Spencer’s own plant sprites weren’t hand-created, but in the least they were appealing. He ran a hand over his face, wiping the sleep from his eyes in the process. “You said they… are there more?” He questioned next with a tilt of his head, studying the heap on the ground. He then glanced to Tempest while the sea drake deliberated, Spencer doing his own in the meanwhile. “I don’t know what these things could do to Nightwing if just released… the way I see it my job is preservation, and when our highest predators are missing…”

“Let’s feed it to Irrlith,” Spencer murmured simply. He glanced toward where the creature lie, unmoved. His eyes were half-lidded whether it was his tiredness returning or the spell that had been cast. “I have it in stasis, it won’t wake unless I release it… it wouldn’t feel a thing.” Slowly, the man rose back onto his feet while Tempest was left to deliberate on that.

  • From the moment the light was flicked on, Spencer’s face went slack. His expression drew a blank in reaction to it, searching through his memory of just what he had seen... the result was inconclusive and kept him at the point of staring at what they had discovered. He truly thought he had seen everything by this point in his existence, but the world had ways of reminding him otherwise.

And so, they watched and waited, frozen where they stood for just a little while longer as the creature adjusted to the bright light now shone on it, as well as the new figures in the corridor. That had been watching them? While they slept? Just how many were there on board? No time to think, suddenly the creature let out a screech that caused the flashlight to drop free from Spencer’s hand as he covered his ears and jumped back, rolling to a stop on the ground giving them a now obscured view of the primitive figure and what was behind it.

True to his quiet nature to begin with, Spencer wasn’t an easy screamer. Although his mouth opened to shout nothing short of a small sound came out initially, flinching as the shards of ice meanwhile hit their marks behind the creature and shattered. With plenty of shrieking, ice shattering, flashlights clattering and the creature’s own bumping against its surroundings, Spencer stepped back while Tempest fled behind the corner, leaving the Ex-Rider in the line of fire. And the creature was moving. It was making its stampede quick enough to jog the man’s brain and it was to the point of either acting or not.

    “Im anír- cin na post-!”

Spencer shouted with his hand held out, done so with intent as the foreign words left his mouth. The spell struck by the way the creature would fall back with a sharp cry of surprise before its eyes fluttered shut. Within the next second or so it stumbled on its feet before falling into a heap on the floor, ultimately still. The mage caught his breath in the meanwhile. A wisp of white trailed from his fingertips like a fog afterward, but dissipated the moment he closed his hand hastily.

“Are you alright..?” He murmured back to Tempest with a look over his shoulder–He certainly wasn’t asking the thing that lay unconsciously on the ground across from him. He turned just a little to glance back at the drake while not taking his eye off it quite yet. Good morning, he thought. His hand swept his hair back with a slow exhale. “Well… it’s your boat...” Spencer repeated loosely, some shakiness still in his tone. “...So what is that..?

  • A frown came across his face to the irony of it when Tempest shouted out. No water? Really? It went to show how armored the vessel was when the outside elements weren’t at the other’s disposal. He blinked when the alternative of choice was the wooden chair; better than none in the least. He watched the drake expectantly, eyes flickering down the hall on occasion.

“Because it’s your boat,” Spencer chided under his breath passively, a touch irritable yet from being rattled awake by the presence. More so wary than anything. He waited for the answer on whether the drake recognized it with his senses or not. When he shook his head the Rider’s eyes went beyond him again, watching the hall as he took a step after. “Noted, go on,” He spoke again quietly, hands still up offensively if need be. Who knew after the centuries that he could still be as surprised by the unknown?

And they were off and moving again. Spencer waited behind the corner as Tempest peered out for a sign, standing in silence with care on whether he’d have to come forward or end up flying backwards for any reason or another. Finally, then the other gestured, he followed on ahead. One corner later he heard the thud, racking his nerves as he tried to look through the walls for the source… he always could, but there were some things better left not revealed about himself unless needed. Down the next stretch of the hallway they went, and Spencer was keeping stride not far behind the other.

Once they drew close enough to see the mess upon the ground Spencer’s eyes were searching throughout it for a sign of movement. What the hell was this thing, some form of vermin? It was his first thought to the trash that had been strewn about. He caught sight of the small creature’s form, still vague in his eyes as it moved about and seemed to scramble and devour whatever was around it before quickly changing its mind. He watched for a moment or so, silent so not to startle it away all over again. He wanted a moment’s observation before acting.

To his surprise, it seemed to be drawing closer. When it seemed close enough to either act or be seen, the man flicked the flashlight to life and shone it on their ‘visitor’, his free hand meanwhile posed to react with a spell lingering on the tip of his tongue if it was needed.

    [Back at it.]

  • “What-do you mean… ‘a big ass boat’?” Nikolas spoke nervously only a half-second after Tempest had said it, staring back at the semi-unfamiliar face for any signs he was joking… that couldn’t be happening. No, if it was, then now what? The Vessel’s mind was racing before the other could get many more words out, blue hues wide.

Oh Hell.., “You’re- you’re not kidding- are you..?” Nik called after once the other male started walking. He took hold of the railing and pulled himself back up the stairs, tugging the bag further onto his shoulder. The sound of his sneakers following after was heard as he followed the gesture. Another staircase was taken and he was fairly close behind. Through the hall, he slowed only a moment to feel the floor below him sway once more. With the little bit of context he was given, his stomach still turned. He wasn’t fucking kidding.

The next stairway led them back upward, his eyes peeled at the first sign of light that differed from the bleak surroundings he had come from in the cargo area. Whether he would manage his way back to where he’d start or not was one question… another was, did it even matter? Nikolas slowed once the other did, watching as the door was pushed open and he felt a breeze of sorts on the other end. He was slow to follow the drake out, but once he had, he did a full circle with his feet in order to look around. The mast, the metal construction around him…

Tempest’s shout shook him from his gaze up at the crow’s nest only to see he had taken off jogging. “H-Hang on, will’ya!?” Nik shouted after, but a handful of long-legged strides worked to catch up after the other. Yet, the closer they became the open water was less obstructed by the weather and the young man bristled. He felt his stomach drop whether it was himself, the waves, or the demon’s own way of scolding him. By the time they reached the bow of the ship Nikolas was walking again, eyeing the edge of it warily as if he might fall off if he got too close. Little by little that ‘adventurous’ part inside let him tip-toe closer, grasping the railing as soon as he could reach it.

...Water. Nothing but water, each way he turned his head. And when he got so brazen as to peer over the railing? You guessed it, more water below that churned before being divided by the ship’s bow. How high up was he? Nikolas grimaced and backed his chest away from where he’d looked over the edge. That queasiness was returning that forced him to take a slow breath and swallow. He glanced over to where Tempest was finally and saw him point, looking back on where they had appeared from. “......”

Nik was beyond trying to take it all in, his mouth hanging open partially with his expression seeming lost despite knowing what he was on, in the least. There was some wonder at it all, deep down, but for the time being? Slowly but surely he’d even lower off his feet to sit down, feeling lightheaded from the rocking of the vessel, and the fact that his head was spinning. The streets of New York didn’t move. Nor did anywhere else he’d been, for that matter.

“I’m... really on a boat,” He murmured under his breath. Along came Tempest’s footsteps and he glanced up from his position. A hand rose to sweep his hair back, a little damp from the rain. “What the Hell do you mean don’t flip out..? Temp, I’m supposed to be in Queens right now,” So maybe it wasn’t straight anger. More so mixed with fear as he took another sweep of the ship only to feel even smaller upon it. Breathe, Nik.
