(Characters are still a WIP but here's the basics for some of them)

Korrin:
When your left in a back alley with your throat slit ear to ear it's easy to give up and die. Korrin almost did too, but as he began to black out he came to a stunning realization. It's his blood so why doesn't he just.. put it back. It was a dying man's deranged thought, but on that night it actually worked. As he thought about it the blood reversed it's flow and life filled him again. After that he learned to use his new found power to hunt down the 'friends' who betrayed him. The wound on his neck never fully healed so he wears a scarf most of the time hiding it and when he uses his powers this is where the blood comes from.

Draven:
Draven comes from a land where his people were nearly exterminated when the surrounding kingdoms turned on them for the gold mines that run under the mountains. His people retreated into these mines and using the narrow passages they were able to survive as they built out cities deep under ground. There they flourished once more in safety and were able to reclaim their once lost homeland with Draven leading the armies. This new found golden age wouldn't last as it seems that gold wasn't the only thing buried under the mountains. An ancient evil was awoken in one of the deeper cities and after weeks of loss and confusion Draven led his personal Guard against the beast and came out victorious, but when he destroyed it's mortal form the beast took up residence in his body. To prevent the beast ever escaping again he exiled himself and now travels the lands looking for a way to seal it for good.

Andrew:
Some people just really don't like to be told what to do. Andrew was one of them. Growing up in the foster system wasn't easy and he ended up with a bike gang not long after he turned 18 and moved out on his own. Now at 27 he is the leader of the gang and has grown it to be one of the largest in the southern states. Now he has all he could want. Money, Women, Power. Though he could use a little more excitement now and then.

Brokai:

Looking at him you'd never tell he had once been a jedi, unless you noticed the light sabers on his hip that is. At one point he seemed to be a promising candidate for master and had made quite a name for himself before he became disillusioned with the order and dropped off the radar. Many thought he was dead until rumors began surfacing that he had become a smuggler and was living a simple life free of the restrictions of the order. In the years that followed many jedi and Sith alike had come after him both for revenge and to get rid of the stain on the order. So far he's managed to fight off or escape any and all of his would be assassins and still travels the galaxy.

  • ( Hi there, just wanted to check in and see how you were doing. Everything okay? )

  • *quarters

  • Of course, Rey knew that he wasn't being completely honest. But that was okay, she had seen the way he had looked at Leia and it told him everything.

"Really? That would be incredible if it's true... I bet it is," Rey said excitedly as she led him down a hallway. After a few twists and turns, they came upon a white hallway with several rooms lined across it. "These are the living quartes, where most of the workers retire at the end of the day. I think this is your room," Rey said as she unlocked the door and then handed Brokai his key. "I'm sorry, it's not much, but I hope you find it comfortable," she said. In the room was a small bed, a bedside table, a desk and a shelf with some books that were collecting dust. There was also a closet and a small bathroom. Rey looked slightly ashamed as if she expected Brokai to get mad at her for the condition of the room.

  • Rey couldn't help but smile upon seeing Brokai's reaction and response. There was the man that she knew he really was. Not a fast-talking scoundrel, but a humble volunteer who was willing to sacrifice his time, maybe even his life, to help with the fight.

"Thank you, Brokai...we appreciate you coming to help. These days it seems our list of allies has grown very thin," Leia added sadly before glancing at Poe and Rey, who nodded solemnly in agreement. "Currently, I do not have an assignment for you, but I suspect things will change very soon. For now, make yourself comfortable. Rey will show you where your living quarters are. I'll keep you informed," the General nodded gracefully before returning to her work with Poe.

Rey smiled and led Brokai down another hallway, one that had few workers running about. "So? What do you think of her?" Rey asked, always eager to learn his thoughts.

  • "Not just a criminal, you're more than that...and I have a good feeling about you; the force is seldom wrong" Rey said with a small smile before they continued walking again.

Despite his many attempts to bring her mood down, Rey continued to stay optimistic and hopeful in regards to what her new friend would do. She really didn't want him to leave, she hated it when new friends left as quick as they came. But she would keep that to herself for now.

They entered a large observation room. Holographic images displayed on a table, depicting First Order ships and fighters on the move. General Leia and Poe Dameron stood, debating about what their enemy would do next. Leia's attention turned away when she sensed the presence of another force user besides Rey. The two stopped what they were doing to greet them.

"Rey, so good to see you," Leia smiled and gave the other woman a gentle hug. Poe smiled and nodded in greeting. "And...who do we have here?" Leia asked, her kind eyes meeting Brokai's face as she waited for him to introduce himself. She was a woman who had suffered more than enough grief in a life time. The General's face was soft yet strong.

  • Rey nodded in response. "Yes, I trust you now." She couldn't help but let out a chuckle at his playful and slightly dark joke. "I know you wouldn't do that, Brokai. I admit at first I wasn't sure what you were going to do, but I really think you could have a place here," she paused before saying something that she hoped would not happen.

"If you find that you really don't want to be here, then that's fine...you can leave. But...I hope that you will stay, at least until the fight is over," she said sincerely, taking a small step closer to him.

  • Although his comments were rather harsh, Rey wasn't exactly surprised. She disagreed with him, but she also saw a strength in his words. Not only was he a very keen observer, but he seemed to know exactly how a successful base should be run. This would make him very helpful indeed. Rey simply smiled and returned her gaze straight ahead.

"Well, you can let the General know, if you like...but I will say this: everyone here has complete faith and trust in me, that's why no one is questioning you. I trusted you to come aboard my ship for several hours, would it be so bad for you to do the same? Even just a little bit?" She asked with a tilt of her head.

  • "Leia and Poe are inside," Finn said, nodding his head towards the base underneath the mountainside. "They'll be so glad to see both of you."

"We'd better get going, thanks Finn," Rey said with a kind smile and left her friend. Once they were inside the base, the walls were lined with all kinds of technological devices. Everyone was doing something and the busy atmosphere made Rey very motivated. She hoped it did the same for her new friend as well.

"Well, what do you think?" Rey asked Brokai, anxious to know his opinion about their new home.

  • "Just mind your manners and be nice, you'll do just fine," Rey said as she undid her seatbelt and found BB-8. "I bet you're glad to be home," she said to the droid, who beeped with enthusiastic agreement.

Rey grabbed her things and walked over to the door before pushing the button that activated the landing platform. The three crew members walked out into the sun and made their way towards the heart of the base. Along the way, Rey was greeted quite often, and although she would never refer to herself as such, she had become something of a hero since the battle of Crait.

The young woman smiled happily at her friends and acquintances, but really there was only one person she was dying to see. Suddenly gasping and running forward, Rey saw her best friend and collided into him with an open hug. "Rey!" Finn called out as he returned the embrace. They talked and laughed for a few moments, when Rey suddenly realized that she should have been introducing Brokai.

"Oh! Um...Finn, this is Brokai...he's a Je-....I mean, he's just like me," she explained while looking over at her new companion. Finn nodded and reached out his hand for Brokai to shake.

"Nice to meet you, Brokai. We really appreciate you coming here," he said sincerely.

  • Very soon a voice came through on the ship's communicator. "This is Commander Dameron, Rey, is that you?" Rey smiled upon hearing Poe's voice; she felt like she had not heard it in forever.

"Hi Poe! Yes, I'll be on the ground shortly. And I've brought help," she explained while engaging in the landing cycle.

"Finally some good news! We'll see you soon, Rey," The crackly voice cut out and the Falcon took a sharp dive downwards below the atmosphere. In what felt like no time at all, the ship had broken through the clouds, and Brokai could see the small outline of a rebel base, sitting against the mountainside. All members of crew were rushing back and forth, transporting material, sending messages, and performing many other tasks.

With undeniable skill, Rey landed the Falcon in one of the docking bays, and she sighed slightly in relief. "You ready?" She asked, knowing that this would be a very big change for him.
