(Characters are still a WIP but here's the basics for some of them)

Korrin:
When your left in a back alley with your throat slit ear to ear it's easy to give up and die. Korrin almost did too, but as he began to black out he came to a stunning realization. It's his blood so why doesn't he just.. put it back. It was a dying man's deranged thought, but on that night it actually worked. As he thought about it the blood reversed it's flow and life filled him again. After that he learned to use his new found power to hunt down the 'friends' who betrayed him. The wound on his neck never fully healed so he wears a scarf most of the time hiding it and when he uses his powers this is where the blood comes from.

Draven:
Draven comes from a land where his people were nearly exterminated when the surrounding kingdoms turned on them for the gold mines that run under the mountains. His people retreated into these mines and using the narrow passages they were able to survive as they built out cities deep under ground. There they flourished once more in safety and were able to reclaim their once lost homeland with Draven leading the armies. This new found golden age wouldn't last as it seems that gold wasn't the only thing buried under the mountains. An ancient evil was awoken in one of the deeper cities and after weeks of loss and confusion Draven led his personal Guard against the beast and came out victorious, but when he destroyed it's mortal form the beast took up residence in his body. To prevent the beast ever escaping again he exiled himself and now travels the lands looking for a way to seal it for good.

Andrew:
Some people just really don't like to be told what to do. Andrew was one of them. Growing up in the foster system wasn't easy and he ended up with a bike gang not long after he turned 18 and moved out on his own. Now at 27 he is the leader of the gang and has grown it to be one of the largest in the southern states. Now he has all he could want. Money, Women, Power. Though he could use a little more excitement now and then.

Brokai:

Looking at him you'd never tell he had once been a jedi, unless you noticed the light sabers on his hip that is. At one point he seemed to be a promising candidate for master and had made quite a name for himself before he became disillusioned with the order and dropped off the radar. Many thought he was dead until rumors began surfacing that he had become a smuggler and was living a simple life free of the restrictions of the order. In the years that followed many jedi and Sith alike had come after him both for revenge and to get rid of the stain on the order. So far he's managed to fight off or escape any and all of his would be assassins and still travels the galaxy.

Conner:

Conner has always been rebellious. Thrown out of every school he was sent to he finally dropped out completely and after a few years living on the street he turned himself around and joined the military. There he found his place and joined the special forces. During his time there they were subjected to numerous experimental drugs and conditioning programs until they were the perfect soldiers. The drugs were derived from the results of the weapon X program and gave them superhuman healing as well as increasing their endurance although not even near the level of the origional subject, and the conditioning left them all but unable to question their orders. Weather it was a stroke of luck or Conner's naturally rebelious nature he came to his senses after a particuarily brutal mission and couldn't belive what they had become and the things they had done. He knew he couldn't go back to that and before the others realized what was happening he killed his squadmates and fled off into the desert. He's been on the run ever since waiting for a way to repay those who had turned him into the monster he is now.

Thomas:

Thomas alsways knew what he wanted to do with his life and the first chance he got he joined the Green Lantern Corps. He was just a young kid in over his head throughout training but did well and slowly began to make a name for himself. This changed however when he and his team was ambushed out in the field and he was the only survivor. Watching his friends, and girlfriend at the time, was too much for him and he was left a broken man. It took months of theapy for him to don the ring again. He's still trying to move on and gain the confidence he once had, but he's worried it will never be the same. The only thing that keeps him going is the hope that he can make sure that no one else has to go through what he did.

  • Although Rey's mind was also busy with endless thoughts, she did somehow manage to ground herself in this moment and clear her thinking. However, she became very aware of Brokai's unease and anticipated he was about to admit something to her.

Upon finally hearing it, Rey's eyes opened as she looked up at him from the floor. She smiled ever so slightly and nodded. "I was wondering when you were going to say that," she said before slowly standing up and wipng her knees off. "I'll help you any way I can...what do you need to do?" she asked, her tone becoming a bit more serious as she wondered what it was he wanted to deal with.

  • Brokai's response seemed somewhat confusing. Rey felt the conflict and incongruency within. He said he needed to go alone, but she had a feeling it wasn't what he truly wanted. On the other hand, she feared that if she pushed to go with him, he would resist and push back.

"Well then," Rey said quietly, almost to herself before watching him stand up and walk over to the bench. She wasn't afraid of the danger, she could handle anything, but she was afraid of crossing his boundaries or doing something that would upset him. Rey stood up and slowly followed him over to where he was.

She saw that he was trying to meditate and decided to join him. It had been too long since she had done that, and figured now was as good a time as ever. Rey sat down on the floor with her legs crossed before closing her eyes and concentrating on her breathing.

  • "I see," Rey said with a nod. It was probably something similar to the current base then. The mines would certainly be interesting. No doubt they would offer ample protection against being spotted or any potential attacks.

As the Falcon began to lift off the ground, so did all the other ships. It would have been an exciting sight if one was on the ground; two dozen ships taking off all at the same time, expertly piloted so no one was at risk of hitting each other. As they flew higher and higher into the sky, the Resistance then began to split off into two sections, one following the main transport, and one following the other. Rey had ultimately decided to follow Leia's. Yes, she would be away from her friends, but something told her that being with the General would suit her need's best.

With the coordinates set, everyone made the jump to lightspeed. The Falcon gave a familiar lurch before quickly stabilizing, a ring of bright blue surrounding the ship as it moved through hyperspace. It was then that Rey listened in when Brokai told her he would have to leave.

At first she thought he was trying to run away again, but she knew and sensed his willingness to help the cause. This was something different. After he was finished talking, Rey gave a soft sigh of understanding. She wouldn't stop him, and how could she anyway? He had already helped the Resistance in more ways than one. The fight wasn't over, but he had certainly done his part.

"I understand," Rey said after a time, nodding slowly as a silence filled between them. She perked her head up again after a while and looked over at Brokai. "I take it this is something you must do alone?" she asked, wondering if there was any chance he might consider taking her with him.

  • Leia acknowledged Brokai's last statement before leaving to board the ship. Now it was time for everyone to leave, and everywhere they looked Rey and Brokai would see people either boarding the transports or climbing into their own ships.

Rey was pleased with Brokai's decision. She wouldn't have judged him either way, but she was glad that he would be coming with her. "Sounds good," she said before turning away and leading him to where the Falcon was. She wondered what he wanted to talk to her about and hoped he wasn't upset by something.

Once they were on the ship, Rey went straight to the cockpit and began to prep the ship for take off. The coordinates for one of the hideouts was given to her via transmission and she immediately put them into the ship's computer. "What kind of environment should we expect from this one?" Rey asked, curious as to the climate of the new base. She was used to a hot environment, anything else would take some adaptation.

  • As Rey looked over at Brokai and the drive in his hand, she felt his hesitation and wondered if he would act on it. In the end she knew that he would hand it over, and she was proud of him for doing so given his comment about how much it was worth.

"Thank you," Leia said as she accepted it. "We will return it to you after we have reached the base, you have my word," she said before passing the drive off to the transport pilots for them to analyze and put the coordinates in. Sensing Brokai's wondering about where he would be placed, Leia decided to give him the choice. "You may come with me on my transport, or join Rey on the Falcon. I leave it up to you. Either way, we are deeply grateful for your assistance in these dark times," Leia said with a respectful nod before turning away and boarding her transport.

Rey stood there and watched her leave before turning back to Brokai. "Well...I guess I'll go get the engine started, what will you do?" she asked.

  • "Oh..." Rey suddenly realized that Brokai had a point. She hadn't considered it before, but she was technically a pilot, and a few other things as well. She turned around to look at him. "You're right, and either way...the Falcon will have to get there somehow. I'll talk to Leia about that," she said with a smile before leading him outside.

Already there was a large crowd gathering outside the base. People were hurrying to put equipment on transports. Pilots stood by their X and Y Wings, ready to follow the main ships they were assigned to. The air was heavy with many goodbyes and farewells. Everyone knew that they would make it safely, but it was still hard to seperate from one's friends, even temporarily.

Rey walked up to Leia when she was done speaking to one of the officers. "General...I had a question. I know I'm supposed to go with you on your transport, but..." Leia raised a hand to stop Rey as she nodded her head with a warm smile. "Yes, I know Rey...you may take the Falcon. I told him not to make the announcement so vague," she said with a slight roll of her eyes but she ended it with a chuckle.

It was then that Leia turned to Brokai and addressed him. "We'll need some sort of documentation of those coordinates, Brokai. Do you have an electronic drive? Even a piece of paper will do..." she explained as the two officers who would fly the main transports came to her side.

  • As Brokai explained where his sabers came from, Rey took a moment to examine her own lightsaber hilt. Her weapon had quite a history to it, so she could hardly say that it truly belonged to her. On the other hand, Luke had no interest in claiming it, so perhaps it really was hers for now.

Hearing Brokai's comment, Rey nodded with a sincere look. "Yes, I agree...I hope I can figure out the rest of it someday," she said, before a loud announcement came over the speakers above them.

"Attention all Resistance: Engineers, officers and pilots are to join Commanders Finn and Poe aboard their vessel. Ground troops and all other personnel will board the General's transport. Report to your designated ship in 10 minutes time."

Rey felt a twinge of sadness knowing that she would not be joining her closest friends as the base was split in two. At least she would be with Leia and Brokai, plus anyone else she was familiar with. "I guess we're 'other personnel' she said with a slight chuckle as she looked at Brokai. "Come on, we better go," she said, turning away and walking towards the entrance of the base.

  • "No, I'm afraid not..." Rey said with a sad sigh when Brokai asked about a translator. "3po says he's never even heard of that language before, it's too ancient," she explained as she watched him flip through the pages.

"Hm," she vocalized before crossing her arms and thinking about his next question. "Not that I've read so far...but I haven't finished them yet so there might be something," she said with a hopeful gaze and a smile. "I'd also like to build my own lightsaber, maybe we could figure it out together?"

  • Turning her focus back to the Jedi texts, Rey pulled the first volume out and offered it to Brokai with a kind smile. "Here, you can read it if you want...I got them from an ancient library on Ahch-To, the location of the first Jedi temple," she explained. "It's a mix of english with some ancient scriptures that I don't recogize, and Luke made all sorts of notes and additions," she said as she pulled out another volume and flipped through the pages briefly.

Hearing Brokai's story, she looked back at him. "Yes...it's amazing that they're still in good condition, I wonder if the force has kept them that way," she paused. "I feel....a responsibility to these, as the..." she paused again, as though struggling to comprehend what she was about to say.

"The last of the Jedi...I need to preserve this information and pass it on. I had R2-D2 scan it so if anything were to ever happen, at least he would have a copy."

  • As Rey slung the bag over her shoulder, Brokai's question made her realize that she never actually explained what the texts were. "Oh, these? They're the ancient Jedi texts, the very last pieces of information from the days of the Jedi Order. I've been reading them as part of my training," she explained with a nod as she walked over towards the door.

However, Rey stopped as she heard Brokai express his gratitude. This sentiment surprised her a bit as she turned to look at him. Her surprise soon turned to warmth as she smiled in response. "Of course...thank you as well, for everything you've done here. I know it might not seem like it, but it really has made a difference."
