Born in the secluded forests of Katalam located in Russia, Maya lived a relatively normal life for a Fairy. Her tribe consisted of mostly Earth Fairies. Still, her clan accepted her just as they had her mother all those years ago. With no mentor due to elemental differences, Maya has barely begun to scratch the surface of her Fae abilities.

As the past would state. Maya's mother fell from the Heavens long ago. A Fae servant to the Angels she'd no longer be. Maya's mother had always seen the logic in Lucifer's ways and thus made a choice. This lead her mother through trials like no other.

Some believe Lucifer was the reason for her Mother's death. Other's say Ceres (Maya's Mother) lost touch with reality when the Void corrupted her.

Either way, Maya was young when her mother "abandon" her. A dangerous quest became her downfall. Only now that Maya has chosen to venture out of Katalam's Woodlands and into civilization has she begun to unravel the great battle that was fought on the very grounds she thrived.

The Golden Child..

Not such a Golden Child after all. Maya's birth was a complete accident. Not only that, it was completely against her mother's will. Her father not only ran experiments on, but raped Maya's mother on several occasions in order to create the "Perfect" Hybrid. Unfortunately, Maya was not that prize he sought.

Once her mother escaped to freedom, she kept Maya a secret from everyone except her Fae Clan. While Maya was completely unplanned and conceived under the worst of conditions, Ceres still loved Maya dearly.

While Maya does not know this history, it's expected that one day she will find out. Perhaps the origins of her half-brother will come to light. While Maya has heard rumors of a half-kin, she's yet to see or discover more about him.

Her mother has left her specific instructions. Being the good daughter she is, it's likely Maya will follow. "Find Jett, Stay with him, and don't trust anyone else."

"The Stars, They Call to Me"

Maya is a Water Fairy, thus her abilities mirror her origins. This doesn't stop her from having a deep affinity with the stars. She's always been not only fascinated but drawn to them. While the answer lies in her father's genes, Maya is not yet aware of this. The recessive traits of her father have left her with virtually nothing but his looks. Maya is still learning and has barely begun to develop her elemental nature. Most abilities will appear as her story progresses and she learns!

Abilities

Basic Water Magic: While still under heavy development, Maya has managed to form small water spears and other projectiles. Unfortunately, her control is very unstable and often isn't reliable in battle.

Fairy Dust: Often Sought after by hunters and witches alike. Maya has never used this dust on anyone and doesn't actually know the effects of it. The dust naturally forms and collects on her wings only falling off when there is excess. It is said to be highly popular on the black market.

Water Healing: Maya can use bodies of water such as Rivers, Lakes, etc. to heal herself or others.

Water Dancing: An enchanting dance that holds little to no beneficial effects. It is said to cure minor ailments such as poisons and other sicknesses. This ability has also been known to grant rest to the warry, and overall produce a calming effect.

Charm Dancing: A secret dance that Maya has discovered the effects of overtime. Once practiced alone for her own peace and comfort, the Fairy quickly learned of its alluring effects on other creatures. While it seems to affect animals and beasts more strongly, her dancing can soothe and draw in most anyone; some may simply feel a sense of ease while others could be afflicted enough to where Maya could impose her will on the target. It is her version of a Siren song. She's only ever used this ability on Jett per his request.

The Talisman of Absolute Law10230697886?profile=RESIZE_400x

Once a well sought after piece for its power. The necklace was stolen from the King of the Stars and passed to Maya's mother, Ceres. It is said the necklace was once guarded by an ancient Ronin Tribe in the mountains of present-day Japan. Maya's mother guarded this with her life, only parting with it before the Great War began. With the help of several Fae elders, Ceres buried the powerful artifact inside of Maya. The Necklace no longer exists, but its power remains. It is a power Maya cannot wield herself. In compliance with the rules put into effect by the elders, the Talisman will only show its face when its owner trusts a wielder.

Absolute LawThen & Now

10230694463?profile=RESIZE_400xThen: The Talisman of Absolute Law was a once heavily guarded object, that could only be channeled by extremely high magical abilities and immense stamina. The Necklace had the ability to bring lesser beings to their knees in unwavering compliance. Stolen by the King's servant in order to maintain balance and safety for others, Maya's mother acquired and protected the artifact in this state.

Now: Currently resonating with Maya's soul. The Talisman is dissolved, its power reduced to a weapon. While the weapon bares great strength and unknown abilities, it can no longer be wielded by just anyone. Maya makes that choice unknowingly based on her trust levels. A sigil, hidden to all eyes, will slowly become more and more visible to her trusted companion with time. Only when fully ignited can the weapon be summoned from the sigil located below her neck, between her collarbones. Maya is unaware of this power buried within. It only adds to the confidence her mother had in her. While this helped Ceres, the elders had another motive. When Maya dies, the Talisman as well will see its last light.

Relationships and Meaningful Interactions

dDNwbTQ.jpg?profile=RESIZE_180x180 VASHARTI "VASH"| BROTHER | ALIVE

Maya's half-brother. Vash boasts a different mother, but he's yet to reveal who that is. The two have recently met and not yet shared much information with one another. Maya is much weaker than him, but Vash seems oddly accepting. He appears to have a brotherly protectiveness about him. While he's eager to take Maya to his home planet in the stars, Maya has thus far declined. Perhaps this explains her affinity to the Stars all along.

JETT.png JETT | GUARDIAN | ALIVE

Maya's protector. Jett had vowed to fulfill a favor to Maya's mother while she took her last breaths. However, Jett was not expecting a child of all favors. While Maya's mother trusted Jett with her life, she trusted no one with the knowledge of Maya's life. Thus Maya followed her mother's orders and sought Jett out. He protects her with his life, and she tells him stories of her mother from the past. These stories somehow comfort the Lost Soul

CERES.png CERES | MOTHER | DECEASED

(My Retired Character of 9 years) Maya's Mother. Ceres cared for her daughter dearly and her quest for power was the final piece she needed to keep her daughter safe. Ceres ended up claiming the Void's power. This eventually drove her to gentle insanity. With a crazy plan to face the King of the Stars, Ceres and Jett eventually became Amir's downfall. This came at a cost; Ceres did not leave the battle alive. However, she entrusted Jett with Maya's wellbeing and happily said her final goodbyes knowing her daughter was free of her looming Father.

AMIR.png AMIR | FATHER | DECEASED

(Retired character of Vasharti's Player) Father to Maya. She's never met him and was quickly hidden away from him by her mother. She retains several features of his physically, but virtually none of his Cosmic abilities. While Maya knows of his wrong-doings as well as his passing, she has no interest in learning more about him. Maya was his first attempt and creating the perfect Starcaller. Unfortunately, she was a failure. While she's technically Royalty, she has no interest in claiming her father's fallen title of King "Queen" of the Stars.

Hello ^-^ I love writing with just about anyone so don't be afraid to ask. I can plot or wing things. I'm probably better at winging storylines since I suck being put on the spot for ideas. I'm just now getting back into the RP world after about a year long break. I'm happy to meet some new people and hopefully make some good friends :) - Mel

  • Santiago & Janos―their conversation prior

Before the second contact with Maya. Santiago had attempted to get something out of Janos. But no amount of words made the Devil react how he'd wanted him to. Not a word was spoken either, just silence and it was unbearable to the Vampire. It irked him to no end and he'd honestly thought that he was beyond this. After so long, anyone would think so. Santiago thought so but here he was, still triggered by this tyrant. Could it be that Santiago had found a shred of hope and now it had rekindled something? Was there a possible chance that he'd finally be free from here, from him? One could only hope.

This seemed hopeless, trying to make Janos talk. If anything, he almost seemed like he knew something that Santiago didn't. The Vampire's expression twitched with a different kind of fear. Not for his life, but for that chance. He could keep his immortal life and be free, but if Janos knows something of this, of his findings. Then, maybe he would lose his chance. Anxiety takes hold. He would accept true death was he at the side of his lover, forever at her side in death. But even that chance has been stolen. Gripping at the reality of this, the gravity of it, Santiago screams at the top of his lungs. " Say something! " His words are spat, fangs snapping at the same time as he felt the would-be blood rush to his neck.

That's something else to ponder. How was he keeping alive? He hadn't tapped a vein in years. Realization dawns on him. He didn't need to take in the pleasures of drinking blood. He never had, in fact, he had supply reserves for that. Decanters were filled to the brim with blood provided from donations. He took from the willing, nothing more. But that kind nature was robbed and twisted when Janos had assumed his place. Pretended to be him because of her...his Sasha. Santiago dropped his head, putting his entire weight upon that which held him in place. Twisted, black roots hugging his form relentlessly, tightening every time he would struggle against them. Their thorns bit into him, even piercing him at times. This is how he was fed, forced fed if you will.

He felt utterly defeated. Janos was grinning just watching and listening to the Vampire. Receding into the dark for a moment, giving Santiago the impression he had left. Though the Devil was still there, quietly waiting...watching as he has been. After what seems like an hour, Santiago finally attempted his next contact. He was tired, mentally though not physically. With a few breaths and grasping concentration, he is able to make contact again. This time he was able to do a bit more. Jumbled words that sounded more like a noise than words. Regardless, it was something, progression, for a better word.

    3:00 a.m.―Present

Santiago is once more able to see her, attempting to communicate more so than before. Succeeding to an extent, there was no way that Janos, who was there, could see the Fae. Thankfully. Else, the Devil would be on her heels for whatever reason he might have. Instead, the Devil is staring at the back of the Vampire's head. What he was waiting for, was beyond anyone at this point. His intent was never known unless he made it known. This was just one of those cases.

There was that word again, 'Aigura'. Maybe, just maybe, he thought. Should he repeat it for his sake? If not voice it, word it with his lips. And they recede, his lips as he tries at the word. He wouldn't be sure if he were saying it right, but it was a try. Janos tilts his head. Aigura? he would repeat in thought, eyes narrowing. Now, this might be something Santiago cannot see as of yet, but it was something that Maya could. She had already spotted him behind the Vampire, confusing him for someone that she knew, this, Lucifer. That would be a Devil that Janos has never heard of, Hell was deeper and darker than the Fallen Angel has made it seem. Cracks in the layers where other creatures of the depths lurk. Or perhaps, other versions of it that they all tie together? Who's to say, this was something the little Fae had to wonder and want to ask for herself at some point.

Santiago on the other hand was shaking his head to the question. Is that Lucifer? What did she mean by that? This was all scratching at the back of his mind, nothing he was uttering verbally. Not yet anyway. This was all assuming she was referring to him when she was asking of course. Which she wasn't.

Janos was too curious. So, he gave Santiago a little hand in his plight. Suddenly, Santiago's voice comes a bit clearer for the Fae. Because Janos hadn't an inkling who the Vampire was talking to. Or if he had just gone mad. It couldn't be the latter, no. With him coming forth clear for Maya, he spoke, answering that lingering question of hers. Are you here to help me? This was the question he would reply to. Regretfully no, he was not, but he needed her help instead.

" I need YOUR help, " he said to her, tone of voice holding a measure of desperation. Like he'd been calling out to no avail and by some miracle, Maya was put in his path. Finally, fate had smiled upon him. Or had it? Because Janos was still pulling the strings. By the looks of it. Allowing Santiago his small bit of communication with Maya. Maybe if Janos lingered a bit longer, he could get a name out of this. Hopefully, it wouldn't be like times before when Santiago would just call the name that made the Devil wrench in anger, Sasha.

" Help me and I will help you in turn, you have my word! " This was all he could promise. His chances are slim because there was no way anyone, not even Maya, could trust the words of a stranger. Oh but how trusting Santiago was, has been. Which had led him to his downfall. His breath catches in his chest, better yet, his heart stopped. Unfortunately, that stopped a long time ago. Santiago hung his head slightly, desperately needing her to say yes. Hair cascaded over his face, hiding him in that darkness that surrounded him. " I'm desperate... " he trailed the words in almost a whisper. But they are words that reach her nonetheless.

  • Santiago―the eternal vampire

Backs of his hands were prickling but his mind was pushing away the unwanted sensations. He needed this contact and saw for his own eyes that he had landed a grand opportunity. Fair and innocent enough but would she be willing enough, strong enough? Of course, he was asking a bit too much from whomever he was to come across and plead for their help.

She was looking directly at him and speaking no less. Regardless the foreign word that would she spoke out didn't sound offending. In fact, it eased his troubled heart, as one would say. With that eagerness that overwhelms him, trying to break free himself from his prison, disrupts his link. His shadowy form looks to fade in and out and gradually becoming more and more transparent to the eye, even her own. When she brings herself to translate this word to him, it causes him to close his eyes with a sigh of relief following suit.

Yes, friend. He would say to himself wordlessly. Soon enough, pale lips part to word that solitary word back. Friend. Maybe she needed some measure of reassurance in return for his odd appearance.

Though he leaves her abruptly, without any other form of clue or information. He is gone but surely to return. This, however, isn't something she is made aware of and his reappearance will happen as sudden as this one had. Perhaps at a much later time in the day, or another.

He had turned away from her before he faded, looking to his left. His expression is contorted with a show of aggression because he had a visitor. Of all times, why today? It has been years upon years since he was ever visited. Just as he was able to link outside this oubliette, he visits. HE of all things. Her unannounced visitor disappears like a disappearing cloud of smoke. Carried away so easily with the soft breeze.

Being forced back into his prison, face to face with his jailer, Santiago, who had only moments made contact with Maya, stared at the creature of his nightmare. Janos. At least that's what he called itself. It had taken everything from him and simply thinking on that made the Vampire seethe in his forever enclosure. Lips curl upward to reveal aching fangs. His eyes deepened into a molten golden hue, penetrated by hints of red. There had been a time, he thought, when this thing resembled him. To the last hair on his head. But now, who was it he resembling now? That heated gaze wanders from head to toe, " What do you want? " That was all Santiago could manage to ask Janos.

Janos on the other hand says nothing. He would just oppress the other with his presence, knowing how much he loathed him. He had no one else to blame but his Uncle. The Elder had a deepened greed to him that knew no bounds and had condemned this young Vampire for eternity. Santiago would simply know a Demoness that Janos would later want and did what he did best to have her. In this case, take over Santiago's very existence. It hadn't been hard, at least that's what he thought at the time. But the Demoness soon found out and encased herself in stone, an eternal slumber, if you will. No amount of power or tricks would break that spell she had cast upon herself. A secret she would take with her.

In the early hours of the day, 3:00 a.m.

There was more determination within the Vampire this time around. He would appear a bit more hostile but not towards her. Hopefully, she would be able to see this, if she could see him properly at all. Santiago looked no different than he did before, but perhaps a bit more solid, nothing more than that. However, there was something more, not with appearance but something else. Did he manage a word? Maybe more? It's clearly uncertain because at this point it was jumbled, incoherent. She might as well interpret that as simple mumbles or groans if anything.

Noticing that he was capable of this much at this point, Santiago strikes an amount of panic. One born of desperation. He'd been known to be like this back in his day. And the one to calm him, thoughts of days now lost to him.

Was she awake for this whole ordeal? That's a possibility. If not, it was a loss for him entirely. But there is something amongst all this. That Maya would see something that would not be looking at her in return, was she awake for this. She would witness something that didn't look like it belonged there. A creature baring horns, more angelic than anything. It's the aura that says otherwise though. It was far from a pleasant being. And it was staring directly at Santiago and it didn't seem like the Vampire was aware of their presence. If Maya was a fae with an abundance of curiosity, then she could piece this picture together. Clearly, Santiago, her visitor, this 'friend' was a prisoner to the one behind him. The question now was, what were her thoughts on the matter? Was she going to do anything? Or just wait...?

  • Santiago―the eternal vampire

Eyes open again to darkness, silence is what greets him and nothingness that ebbs him to the unknown. His gaze draws up at nothing and yet, at something only he can see. With a drawn breath, he rolls his eyes to a close. Within that split second, he is hurled into a distant memory that remains fresh within his mind. It was something that was summoned from the depths of his subconscious. Though he does not condemn it, he welcomes it.

Taking his hand is another much smaller than his own. Dainty in comparison, but as strong. With his gaze, he follows the fine adornment that conceals the arm, right to where it flares, the fabric forms a sort of crown upon such a delicate shoulder.

" You must find a way to escape, " the voice says to him for the thousandth time. Honestly, he'd forgotten how many times it has been said to him. The same urgency behind those soft-spoken words. He knew that voice, longed for it. When he'd first heard it, it had been fleeting. No matter the prison, it was a voice that was constant and forever with him.

Disappointment fills him as he opens his eyes. That distant memory was fading every time he would visit it. The voice growing more and more distant than the last. Something wrenches in his chest, wishing he could ball a fist over it and try to ease it. Pale features contort with a thought before his brows furrow, tightly knitting as something flares within him. He attempts what he hadn't in so long, and that was trying to break free from his bonds. Creeping up his legs were what would appear as vines, thick enough to resemble arms, which were holding him in place. They snake all the way up to his sides and already working up to his shoulders. Soon, they would be around his arms and who knows what else these things would do in due time.

His prison was only growing when he struggled within it. He had ceased long ago, for fear of something. Unable to recall what that something was, he would not dare try to remember. Something told him not to and thus, didn't. With a deep breath, he would relax and exhale steadily.

Powers that had laid dormant, stir. Projection, he'd done this as a child, leaving his quarters when he'd been told not to leave by a scolding parent so many years ago. He'd be able to sneak out and enjoy the awakening black forest that spread far and wide from the castle. To the north, his Uncle, and to the south, the Demon Horde. A child knows no better than his own whims. Innocence at its best, for better words. There were times when he would realize that he'd traveled a bit too far from his body but it did to deter him from attempting it again and again. All that it left him with was exhaustion, but nothing that couldn't be replenished with some rest.

As darkness recedes and he is met with a plane like no other, there is hesitation at first. While he could just turn back and return to that pit of darkness, he cements himself in his tracks and forces himself to venture forth. He had to do this or be forever bound to his hell. The light nearly blinds him but soon recovers. He had brought his arm to shield him, though drops it when he felt his eyes adjust. If he were in his solid form, that would be impossible? Quite powerless to the light, terribly so that it would kill him, eventually.

Looking down at his hand as he turned it palm up. There are thoughts that cloud him, observing silently as he ... marvels. To be unaffected, how good that would be, he thought. With a blink or so, he turned his gaze forward and continued to walk. By now crowds of people he had never seen pass him by. With close observation, from head to toe, he can see this was a completely different era and age from what he was used to. He'd been lost to time and to the marvels of man itself. You see, he wasn't a man, has never been such. They were a rare creature he'd only heard stories about, cattle as they were called by his Uncle long ago.

Reluctantly, he turns from them and presses on. He'd lost track of time and how long he'd been walking. Eventually, he sees he is standing at the end of the road. The smell of salt in the air fills his lungs. Again, he breathes it in, then again until his chest ached. It was much more different than the smell of ash and sulfur.

Like a beacon to him, his gaze catches quickly at something that stands out. It was the outline of a human, no different than those he'd seen along the way. But the outline of this one was completely different. It could be because of his nature that he is able to detect such or because he could smell it. Who's to say really, it's been so long even he felt like he was failing himself.

While no human could see him. To any other pair of eyes, that could be different. If it were possible that they could see him, he would appear like some semi-solid shadow. Every bit of him was in unmistakable detail. He was projecting himself as he would have been, were he not confined as he was. A loosely worn long sleeve with a pair of black slacks. Boots that meshed perfectly with the dark fabric that it is hard to decipher where it really starts. His completion was quite a contrast, alabaster, both skin, and hair. With the most striking, piercing gaze. He stood there with arms at his sides, unmoving. Almost inanimate. Though such, there was no mistaking it. He was looking directly at one and no other.

Everything else didn't seem to matter, or anyone for that matter. Something and that thing only held him fast and urged him to cease it before it was lost. Had he found his key to escape? Was this the hope he'd been led to, but had been too stubborn to find it? A gift perhaps, but of not that nature. But of salvation.

The female seemed to be minding her own, doing her own. While he was hesitant on how to go about attracting her attention, pleading for her aid. Regardless of his nature, he wasn't exactly life-threatening, never was. Ever since birth. Looking at his hands, all seemed hopeless, right up until he dropped his gaze to her shadow. Perhaps a whisper to it would have her turn around and maybe notice him. If she were as humanoid as he believed her to be, then maybe she could see him. His lips stretched out thin as he frowned to himself, hands balling into tight fists. Realization hitting him, he couldn't speak.

Oh, how it irritated him. So close, yet, so far...

A touch then...he reached what would be her shadow's shoulder. Lightly and cold, he placed his hand upon it carefully. Mindful not to startle her, if possible at all. The sensation would be no different than someone actually touching her physically. And if he were successful, she would find herself turning around. If she wasn't human like he believed her to be, then she would see him, right?

See me...he word with his lips, silently...

  •  Although it felt like hours, Ceres had actually only been unconscious for a few minutes. The little boy she was with had been thrown back in the opposite direction towards the water. His body sunk in the wet sand as he looked around desperately for his parents. By now everyone was gone having scattered in every direction. The beach was littered with empty chairs and burning towels. As he scrambled to his feet the child looked around for the young woman who had saved his life. Where had she gone?

Just as the last of the explosions occurred the so called Mistress of All Evil made her way off of the dock and onto the sand. The sight of burning chairs and towels was enough to make her smile. She had always enjoyed ruining a good time. The lack of corpses was disappointing but she had still managed to put a good scare in the crowd. The train of her gown brushed across the sand leaving a stripe in the dunes.

128562004?profile=RESIZE_710x"An exquisite end to the day, wouldn't you agree?"

At first glance it would appear as though the sorceress was talking to herself. Her raven companion was almost invisible in the night sky. He released an audible caw when he noticed the boy trudging through the sand. Tears had already started to stream down the child's face. He was terrified. The sound of the bird made him jump. That was no seagull.

"Well, well...What do we have here?" When the boy turned around he was met with the sight of a tall mint skinned woman walking toward him. Her bright yellow eyes glowed in the darkness and he could see she was smiling. The malicious grin on her face made him uncomfortable and he opened his mouth to speak only to say nothing.

  • Two AM and she was wide awake as usual. Sleep was something that didn’t really come to her, nor her father. Their kind didn’t need it or much anything else. Food, drink, sleep, such things were only done out of a psychological need and not physiological one. The Area with humans and the supernatural living side by side, was a place she visited quite frequently.  She felt like she could be herself there, be free without worry of discover or judgement for what she was.

She has been doing a little casual hunting for either food or just to pass the time until daddy needed her again . She had a target she was tracking from across several rooftops and finally cornered it when it went into an alleyway. There from her vantage point, she saw what appeared to be a humanoid female, that was now the target of her prey.  She had her rifle set up and was debating when to take aim, when she watched the little lass, dispatch of them creature in an unusual manner, well from what she has seen anyhow.

She looked through her scope as she fired off a few shots that hit dead center. Center being what counted as elbows and knees as she blew the arms and legs of the creature, clean off. Most likely some blood may splatter the other girl if she was too close to the body. Slinging the rifle onto her shoulder, she jumped off the building and landed right down on top of the creature. With one foot smashing right through the chest cavity and the other, smashing the skull, a gorey mess to be sure.  She took a second to take stock of the girl, wondering if she was at attention or in some trance state. She would extend a hand and snap her fingers before the girl to make her snap too and focus.

“You know. Going into a far off daze is never a wise move. Suppose this thing has friends and they were using it as a decoy to attack you when your guard was down. Things would not fair so well at that point. Hmmm. Also. Always best to kill your prey when the opportunity strikes. Leaving it to rise up and come after you when your back is turn, well it is just very I’ll advised.”

The woman was a young, blondish brunette with a slender but toned frame, dressed in what look like black camo fatigues, with a military grade sniper rifle slung over her shoulder.  The way she was dressed and spoke to Ceres. Could clearly indicate she was some sort of Hunter or possible military sniper or trained killer, something that didn’t scream everyday civilian or drug lord.
