Character Information

The Fleet of Fog are a line of sentient warships built from super-advanced technology beyond anything can produce, each being a visual replica of military vessels from World War Two. Nobody knows who or what built them. They possess mental models, which are humanoid avatars that’re used to self-cultivate and bypass their lack of creativity when it comes to strategy.

As a result of rising sea levels and global heating, many of Earth’s landmasses were lost to the ocean.

In 2039, the Fleet of Fog mysteriously appeared and laid waste to mankind’s navy, effectively blockading the shores of all nations and cutting off access to shipping routes, in addition to silencing communication between countries. Fortunately, they were ordered not to attack humans inland.

Overview:

Aquaitania is one of these hyper-advanced warships, based on the original passenger/ocean liner built by Cunard in its military configuration from the second World War.

The reason behind his construction was to house the Admiralty Code - An anomalous being responsible for directly creating the Fleet of Fog and ordering them to force humanity from the oceans. Simultaneously, Aquitania retains a hefty arsenal of weapons and participated in combat when the need would arise.

He was a part of the Red Guns fleet, which was tasked with keeping the United Kingdom surrounded and deprived of access to the sea. They were under the command of Montana, a Fog Battleship who originally oversaw the occupation of North America’s shores.

Eventually, Aquitania became increasingly curious about human culture and sought to learn more. After direct exposure to a young woman he spared upon sinking a makeshift boat, she managed to convince him to seek his own destiny, prompting him to turn on his kin and flee.

And that was exactly what he did.

Unlike all other Fog vessels, he uses a male mental model and identifies as such.

Temperament:

As if a persona of the very liner he was modeled in the image of, Aquitania is a well-reserved, charismatic being, a complete gentleman who is chivalrous towards women. Very knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects, especially human history, in addition to being really open-minded.

He enjoys using his mental model for gardening and crafting tea. Another one of his hobbies is collecting books for his onboard library and reading them to learn more about mankind, or enjoying a good science fiction novel.

It’s difficult to get a rise out of him, but if you really want to get under his skin… Ask him if he’s the Titanic.

Appearance:

As a warship for the Fleet of Fog, his exterior is a replica of the famous RMS Aquitania, which was a large Ocean Liner that got converted for military use multiple times and survived both world wars. A total length of 901 feet (275.2 meters), and a beam of 97 feet, and four funnels.

Key differences in appearance from the original include a crimson-red hull with a dark gray waterline/underbelly, black smoke funnels, dark gray superstructure, and a large assortment of smaller cannons lining his decks in the absence of lifeboats. All windows are opaque with a red sheen when viewed from outside.

Along the outer hull are a series of glowing red markings, one of which on the bow section forms the Fleet of Fog Emblem.

- Interior -

Just like the ship he’s based on, his interiors are also replicated after the original liner, including the exact same type of furnishings.

The overall design of Aquitania's interior reflects the Edwardian era's taste for luxury and grandeur. This includes rich wood paneling, elaborate plasterwork, and intricate moldings.

Many public rooms onboard are designed in the Louis XVI style, characterized by its classical elegance and symmetry. This style includes ornate furniture, gilded details, and sumptuous fabrics.

Some of the public spaces and cabins are decorated in specific period styles, giving passengers a variety of aesthetic experiences. For example, the First-Class Dining Saloon was designed in the Adam style, featuring neoclassical elements.

There were also elements of Art Nouveau in some of the decorative details, such as light fixtures and decorative panels. The Georgian style was evident in some of the more subdued and refined areas, emphasizing elegance and comfort.

The interiors are designed to offer the utmost comfort and luxury, with spacious lounges, grand dining rooms, and well-appointed cabins. High-quality materials, such as marble, mahogany, and fine textiles, were used throughout.

Mental Model

His human facade/fake body is 6’3 in height, with an athletic figure and broad shoulders. Aquitania is pale-skinned with a sharply sculpted face, messy onyx hair, and golden irises.

For his outfit, he wears a high-end formal black business suit with a white dress shirt underneath and a black tie, complete with a pair of matching dress gloves.

History:

In the year 2012, there were reports of alleged ‘ghost ships’ roaming the seas. Around 2038, such sightings became incredibly frequent to alarming levels. One year later, the Fleet of Fog began its relentless assault against every Navy on Earth, obliterating them with ease since humanity had no means of combating what felt like an unstoppable, alien menace.

At that time, Aquitania had participated in wiping out Britain’s naval forces under Montana’s authority, the flagship of the Fog’s Redguns Fleet.

When all of mankind assembled their warships into one massive fleet for a final brawl in hopes of defeating them, the Fleet of Fog annihilated them mercilessly. Aquitania had sunk at least a dozen human vessels. This event became known as The Great Naval Battle.

Once the war was over, he was left with objectives provided by the Admiralty Code and Montana: Patrol the United Kingdom’s waters and keep humanity confined to land, eliminating anything that dared to cross the ocean.

After saving some books found floating at the surface upon sinking a small vessel attempting to leave the UK, Aquitania developed an interest in reading fiction and became increasingly fascinated by human cultures around the world. He collected books for reading, stored them in his library, and kept any items of interest found on fresh shipwrecks.

In order to satisfy this curiosity, he captured a young one day, who woke up on his bow deck to find his mental model staring down at her while sitting on cannon barrel. She was questioned on a number of things, and the two started talking.

It later evolved into her asking him about why he follows the Admiralty Code, which caught him offguard since there was no stated reason for /why/ humans are suppressed from the oceans. Even he knew little to nothing about the Admiralty Code and lost that argument, unable to provide any valid responses.

Through sheer logic and reason from that woman, Aquitania began questioning his purpose for existing and became discontent with the idea of blindly following orders that seemingly had no meaning. The realization that he could choose his own path in life hit him, to do so would require one thing:

Deserting his post, and betraying the Fleet of Fog, and that’s what he chose.

Defecting…

On a stormy day, Aquitania and his female companion decided they were going to escape together. Shortly after cutting off communications, he began sailing west toward the Atlantic Ocean unannounced. Other Fog ships within the Redguns fleet took noticed and reported in their chain of command.

Montana became FURIOUS upon discovering why, and sought to hunt him down. Since he was well outside of striking distance, another in the Redguns fleet was dispatched to go destroy Aquitania: Barham, a battleship.

The two made contact. When they did, both ships engaged each other in a fight to the death. Due to Aquitania having much smaller weapons, he was at a great disadvantage and could barely keep up. To make matters worse, she brought a few Nagara light cruisers. Using his far superior speed and maneuverability, he was able to outflank Barham and take down her Klein Field (a type of shield).

After a hard-fought battle, Aquitania managed to score a killing blow by broadsided her up close. As Barham sunk, he looted her Super Graviton cannon and installed it within his own body, the most powerful weapon ever used by the Fleet of Fog, With this, he could go toe-to-toe with almost any of his kin, including Montana, who became frustrated after Barham failed to sink him.

Since all other ships in the Redguns Fleet were too far to intercept, he fled across the Atlantic, avoiding other Fog patrols wherever possible.

His journey for freedom was only beginning.
