      "I DID something!

I made you believe in the world I created, and I showed you parts of yourself you were too afraid to visit!"

            - Josh Washington

The son of successful film director Bob Washington and passionate social rights activist Melinda Washington, Josh enjoyed a luxurious childhood thanks to his father's wealth and as an adult, he still recalls their yearly summer retreats to Blackwood Pines and the baseball games he played with his family on the lawn of their mountain lodge, side by side with his sisters, mum and dad.

However, his happiness didn't last, his parents became more and more preoccupied in their work, which left Josh feeling neglected. As a result, Josh formed a very close bond with his sisters, Hannah and Beth, relying on them for the emotional support his parents could not provide.

-Chris "You know how Josh and I meet? OK, third grade, Josh sat in the back of the room, I sat in the front. We didn't even know each other existed. But the kid sitting next to Josh started strap snapping the training bra on the girl in front of him, so the teacher made him move to the front - where I was sitting!"

-Sam"Okay so?"

-Chris "So I got moved to the back!"

-Chris "And next to Josh, that's how me meet.

And became friends. To this day!"

Sam-"A match made in heaven."

In third grade Josh meet and befriended classmate Christopher Hartley, eventually drawing him, and his sisters into a larger circle of friends consisting of Samantha, Mike, Jessica, Emily, Ashley, Matthew and Zach.

He and Chris would basically grow up together, spending many weekends and days together. Dialogue between the two suggest they went through a sort of pyromanic phase sometime growing up as they mentioned deliberately setting fire on things or melting dolls using a makeshift flamethrower.

After an "incident" at school, Josh was referred to a psychiatrist in 2006 and was wrongly diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder. Over the course of the next few years, he was referred to a number of other medical professionals and prescribed a number of antidepressant drugs; often, the effects of the drugs tapered or simply failed to help Josh at all, forcing his doctors to change prescriptions. By 2013, he was self-medicating with progressively larger doses of Amitriptyline in a desperate attempt to improve his mental health.

During the fateful winter getaway at Blackwood Pines, Josh spent most of the evening partying and getting drunk with Chris, his best friend, and as a result he was not included, nor aware of the prank his friends played on Hannah, and was left passed out on the kitchen counter while his twin sisters left the lodge, never to be seen again.

Josh took the disappearance of his sisters very badly.

Medical records from around this time suggest he came dangerously close to committing suicide, and his ongoing state of delirium quickly resulted in him being committed to Oceanview Hospital for observation while his current doctor, Alan Hill, considered possible treatments. Though Josh was discharged two weeks later with a new prescription of Phenelzine, he had changed for the worst: though outwardly good-humored and sociable as ever, he had become obsessed with the idea of solving every single one of his problems simultaneously. This is where he came up with the one thing that he knew would solve his problems. The prank.

Drawing upon his family's wealth and his father's contacts among practical effects artists, he spent most of the year planning, designing and commissioning the props necessary for his grand prank.

Eventually, he returned to Blackwood Pines and rigged the Washington lodge with all the props necessary for the ultimate practical joke - including video cameras to ensure that the events would be recorded and uploaded to the Internet.

He then invited his friends back to the mountain for another winter getaway.

Josh had planned for anything, arranging everything from animatronic ghosts to fake bodies, even creating evidence of a slasher villain. He himself played the part of this particular character who came to be known only as 'THE PSYCHO'. However he had no desire to actually kill them, and carefully designed his pranks to ensure that nobody would actually be hurt by them.

After having had his 'fun', he reveals himself as the mastermind behind it all, and confronted by his friends, Josh reveals the details of his prank, gloating how well he fooled them and boasting of how the uploaded footage will make them Internet sensations. Mike, enraged and believing that Josh is responsible for Jessica's death, knocks him unconscious; after tying his hands, Mike and Chris drag him to the shack, intending to keep him there until they can call the police, all the while ignoring Josh's protestations of innocence. As the confrontation goes on, Josh's behavior begins to degenerate: already high-strung and prone to grandiose bragging, he slowly declines further into madness, first into increasingly crazed denials, then vicious insults aimed at his captors, before finally dissolving into deranged, barely-coherent mumbling. Chris departs, saddened, leaving Mike on guard.

          "Hello children..."

During this time, Emily is fleeing from the Wendigo, making it back to the lodge, her screams get carried as far as the shack, prompting Mike to investigate - leaving Josh behind in the process. Soon after, the Stranger arrives to explain the true nature of the threat on the mountain, introducing the group to the concept of the Wendigo. Too late, Mike realizes that Josh has been left alone in the Wendigo's hunting ground, prompting Chris - accompanied by the Stranger - to attempt a rescue: however, on reaching the shack, they find it deserted and covered in blood; presuming Josh dead, the two of them leave - only to be ambushed by the Wendigo. The Stranger is instantly decapitated, and Chris is forced to retreat to the lodge. After this, the Wendigo drags an unconscious Josh into the forest. Refusing to wait until dawn to escape and knowing that the cable car won't work without Josh's keys, Mike resolves to find him. Meanwhile, Josh is dragged into the abandoned mines and deposited in the Wendigo's lair.

There, abandoned by his hallucination of Dr Hill, Josh suffers a complete mental breakdown: taunted on all sides by the voices of his psychiatrist, his sisters, his friends, and even himself, he swings wildly between fear, grief and utter despair as his mental health rapidly deteriorates. His hallucinations take a dark turn, confronting him with the animated corpses of his sisters, Hannah encouraging him to join them, Beth blaming him for their deaths.

While hallucinating giant pig's heads, showers of intestines, the skinned bodies of his sisters and giant Wendigos, Josh is finally located by Sam and Mike - the latter of whom is able to bring Josh back to reality by slapping him across the face. Upon realizing that his friends are with him, he willingly hands over the cable car keys. Sam then proceeds to tell Josh about Hannah, and that she had been down in the mines for a long time, something that later on saves Josh's life.

And though Sam is able to climb out of the cavern on her own, Mike clearly recognizes that Josh won't be able to climb in his current condition, and decides to help him find another way out. However while wading through an underground lake, they are ambushed by Wendigo Hannah and Mike is dragged under the water and flung aside while the creature attacks Josh, who noticed the butterfly tattoo on the Wendigo's shoulder, and realized that the creature is actually his sister, Hannah.

He cries out her name and Hannah, apparently recognized her brother and choose to spare his life, but she nonetheless drags her screaming brother Josh back to her lair where he remains until the next day.

"Is there anyone out there? ANYONE?! Help me. I-I'm all alone..."

Josh is a human, and as such possesses no superhuman powers beside the average strength of a man in his twenties who work outs occasionally.

He does have an incredibly keen intellect, and is able to concoct complicated plots, learn quickly, and solve problems in a heartbeat. He also has a wide knowledge of special and make up effects, and knows how to work electronics. He is shown to be able to create movie quality props and complicated devices like saw traps, holographic imagery and has even realistically pulled off faking his own death.

He also has basic medical knowledge and knows how to properly and safely administer sedatives as well as various other medical practices.

Josh's father owned multiple firearms so growing up Josh has trained himself to be an expert marksman, rarely missing his target.

Appearance wise, Josh has short chocolate-brown hair, much like his sisters Hannah and Beth.

He has a caramel complexion and emerald green eyes, and is often thought of as very attractive.

Josh's interactions with others tend to be humorous, and generally very positive in nature. He cares deeply for his friends and acts as a brotherly figure to Chris, and loves taking the helm, organizing cool events and making sure that everybody has an awesome time, and that no one feels excluded. His dreams of following in his father's footsteps in becoming a film producer make him very knowledgeable about special effects and movie props and as such, he constantly uses phrases and words from movies, indicating that he is a big lover of movies in general. He is a also a charitable person, and isn't stingy about sharing

Josh definitely has a bit of a party-animal streak (honed in his freshman year of college), but his warm and friendly personality will win everybody around in the end. Sadly, however, there are more to be added. Despite being an extremely extroverted individual, radiating with positivity and happiness, Joshua has another, darker side.

He was diagnosed with Major Depression Disorder when he was 11 years old and has been taking anti-depressants ever since.

His actual problem however wasn't depression, but Schizophrenia, a brain disorder. Schizophrenia is characterized by a disassociation from reality. Its symptoms are visual and auditory hallucinations, delusions, social withdrawal/paranoia, and disorganized speech.

Josh is extremely unstable at times, and even attempted suicide after the death of his sisters.

//This is where I stray from the original ending of 'Until Dawn', as I felt distressed that there were but two choices for my boy Josh. Either his head is caved in by his wendigo sister, or he's taken away into the mines, where he'll be left alone with nothing but his hunger, eventually resort to cannibalism, and turn into a wendigo himself.

So I felt that Josh deserved a second chance at life.  Because at the end of the day, he is a victim too.

GameTheory explains it best in this video. Please, do watch.

In my mind Josh survives, and THIS is what really happened.

Surviving the horror at Blackwood Mountain, a broken and lamenting Josh returns to 'Oceanview Hospital' after having broken down during police interrogation regarding the 'killer on Blackwood Pines' and during questioning he confesses to everything, telling them that he was in fact 'the killer', and that it had all been an elaborate prank, and that he was sorry for having played said 'prank'. No charges were brought against him, but he was given a court order to undergo psychiatric treatment as well as monthly psychiatric evaluations.

Despite bleeding himself dry of apologies and pointing out his terribly remorse, and despite the fact that both Sam, Chris and Mike, as well as Jessica, all came to visit him at the hospital, he still feels as though his friends will never trust him again, or that he is worthy of their trust even.

Eventually, Joshua was released and prescribed a new set of medicines designed to help his actual problem, schizophrenia.

Plagued with guilt and still haunted by the past he remains more than often locked away inside of his room.

"I-I didn't want ANY of this to happen, I swear! It's not w-what I wanted...

You were not supposed to leave. Not supposed to leave me...leave me all alone. I'm...I'm lonely. So alone.

Please...FORGIVE ME, I'm so, SO sorry!

I'm sorry for what I did, I-I can't tell you how sorry I am and, and I wish I could undo all of this craziness...-

-...No. P-please don't go again. Please don't leave me...PLEASE!?"

"Five, girl! Yeah!"

  • My character is a frail little human, with little to no real combat experience so I'd ask that you do not permanently maim him.  Beyond that, feel free to beat him to a bloody pulp. He can take it.
  • Please use grammar when engaging in a roleplay with me, as it is very dear to my heart.
  • 21+ Content. There will be gore, drugs, and....thangs.
  •  I won't always be on. I have a full time job and a LOT on my plate at home. So, please, be patient and I will get to you. Promise, bro. If, however, you think I've forgotten, give me a little nudge. I'm only human.
  • Have fun, and remember to ship either JoshxChris, or JoshxSam! It's climbing class vs Jossam!

  • Afterward… Nik did his best to sleep. Getting mostly out of soaking wet clothes, and the promise of safety from his pursuers, he figured he’d have an easy enough time. The determining factor however- the demon latched onto his soul. As it’s high alert lingered, a couple hours passed before he finally drifted off rather than staring at the ceiling. That made about four hours to little, in his late opinion.

Come Josh’s rude awakening, such deprivation meant that Nikolas was, for the most part, sleeping nearly without a pulse. Not so much as a stir when the other jolted out of bed, laying on his side facing opposite the door, burrowed under his own covers peacefully with the blankets rising and falling steadily, oblivious to the time of the outside world. Proving that he did have a pulse after all.

…he wouldn’t hear the sound of the voice either. That was, until it suddenly became shrill. Whether it was the jumping of his heart or the jumping of his body that came first, Nikolas’ eyes snapped wide open to the sound he hadn’t woken up to in- well… never. “A.. AH-“ A rush of coldness was the next sensation felt, the blanket pulled off leaving him semi-bare and suddenly pulling himself to an upright position. Was it light out!? What time was it?? Where the hell was he anyways? That last bit took a half second or so to register before he was onto the next dilemma in front of him.

    “Wai- wait I’m sorry I-… !”

He stammered abruptly, words flooding out of his mouth like a defense mechanism.  A rather defective one at that. Nikolas looked to the woman utterly horrified. Light blue hues were wide open and staring like she had a gun to his face. She might as well have been with the way he raised his hands in plain sight. “Hang- Hang on I can explain! I promise, I just- take it easy, please!...” All the while as he stumbled with his words, he cast a look over to Josh’s bed. Empty. Could he really explain? This wasn’t good.

  • Ashely grins at Sam from across Chris and mouths something to the blonde, and that grin hops from Ashely to Sam, even if the mischief makes Sam ask, "Ya sure, Ash?" Those grins stay and Sam moves.

"So, Josh, ever had your legs waxed?" Ashely asks, and Jess snickers while Mike makes a pained face. "Good luck, bro." Matt says from his spot. Sam hops up and in under a minute has dashed into Hannah's bathroom and returned with the was strips. "I will heat up the wax." Jess offers.

"Might this be a little too painful for a dare?" Sam quipped up, watching with a slightly worried, but amused look. "It is nothig Josh can't handle. Choose a spot to wax and a person to do it." Ashely says as Jessica returns with the honey scented hot wax.

    Oh boy.
  • "Jesus fuckin' Christ,Kid. Why don't ya rip my cock off and feed it
to fucking Shiva while you're at it?? For one,Michonne is hot. I have no interest in killing women.
Men,however,I could waste them all day fucking long. Why you gotta spoil my fun over a doobie a day?
    Thought we were friends,man."

  • Sam watched with a raised eyebrow as Mike and Jessica started to kiss. Didn't it seem like this was just too cozy for comfort? She cast a look at Em before Emily is drawing Mike away. "That was steamy." She mumbles, taking another bite of her cake.

    "So, truth or dare, Sam?"

What? Sam looked and saw the bottle was pointing at her. That brief expression of shock subsided. She thought of what kind of question Mike might ask if she chose truth and shuddered. But if she said dare, there was also the risk of her showing skin or locking lips. "Choose, steamy," Jessica spoke up.  "O.K. Truth me," Sam said, snapping almost.

Mike smiled, and Sam wanted to shrink away. Did she choose wrong? "Who took your V-Card, Sam?" Mike asked, and even Emily was leaning in. Oh shit. Sam coughed a little, setting her plate down, along with the little fork. "A frat boy named Patterson, I think. That's what he told me. I was drunk and had I been sober, I can guarantee that wouldn't have happened." Her face is beet red with embarrassment, it's clear she didn't want to talk about it, and before she can gauge anyone's reactions, Sam is leaning forward to spin the bottle again.

It lands on the perfect victim. "Ashely, truth or dare?" Ashely is startled too. "Truth, I guess." A smile plays on Sam's lips. "If you had to kiss one person in this room, who would it be?" Bam. Go straight for the kill. Ashely is looking straight at Chris, and for a moment, it looks like she is going to say him. Nervous laughter bubbles up. "Uh... Myself? I mean, if I had too, maybe Chris?"

SCORE! Sam is looking proud, and now Chris is blushing! Jessica is grinning. "Go get 'em tiger." And the guys by her are joking around. Ashely moves to spin the bottle. And this time... it lands on Josh. "Truth or dare, Josh?"

  • "Are you fucking high? I swear to fucking Christ,if you've got
fucking weed without me,I'm going to fucking flip my shit. There's none of that
shit here, and I wouldn't mind getting fucking elevated for a change."

"Still, keep your fucking needle away from my body.".

  • "Why, thank you, Josh. I have never seen such nice vegan food or such a nice presentation. I'm impressed you memorized that." Sam tried to make her voice playful and it didn't work, but when she took a bite of the cake, she felt a smile quirk upon her face. The smile only vanished as she noticed how far Chris was away from Ashley. Huh. Nuh-uh. He wasn't getting away with that. "Chris, switch spots with me. I want to be closer to the T.V." She mumbled to him. He shot her a look, but she returned it equally, and in a quick second, she was where he had been sitting, munching away. She counts everyone in the room and feels her mood drop. Where was her Beth? Hannah?

Sam also slightly eyed who Jessica had brought, and even if she wouldn't admit it, she was impressed. Then Emily was turning off her show! Sam made a distressed noise but realized this was the perfect opportunity for something fun. There was a circle of teenagers at a Halloween party, but still in a private enough space for... "Truth or dare anyone?"

"How about Would You Rather? Or Fuck, Marry and Kill?" Emily retorted. "I'm not really in the mood for Truth or Dare." And for whatever reason, as if to prove Mike was her's, Emily leaned into Mike. It took everything she had for Sam not to roll her eyes. "Well, it's whatever anyone else wants to do. I'm cool with whatever games you guys are up for." Jessica coughed. "Truth or dare does seem more appealing. No parents and I am sure some of you guys are a little sloshed. It could be fun." Jessica said, nodding at Sam. And Mike, who had Em tucked under his arm was backing Sam up too. "Yeah, truth or dare, Em." For a moment, Emily seemed annoyed, but her face un-scrunched up. "I'm glad you didn't veto, Class Prez!" Samanatha joked, taking a bite of the crust from the cake.

"What do you think, Josh?" Ashely asked, trying not to look at Chris. Sam caught that from the way Ashely's face was a little red, and how even Chris seemed to be avoiding eye contact. Awww. This could be a great opportunity to open them up to each other! Sam looked over at Josh, and coughed, her eyes darting to Chris and Ashely.

  • (Omigod; I am so sorry some paragraphs repeated in my last post!)

Sam wiped away the beer on her dress, and for a moment paused, looking in the mirror. She thought about what Angie said and how her hair should be down. Typically she could care less but after a second she took it back down, and tossed the hair tye in the near by garbage. No temptation. She heard her phone chime and walked out of the bathroom, shrugging her hood back on.

A smile quirked up on her lips. The little heart emoji caught her eye, and even though they were not there, she swore she could have heard one of the twins pretending to gag.

'I'm in Han's room, some kid spilled beer on my outfit. Wanted 2 clean up. Bring the food and come up here Joshie.' Sam shot back in a message. She looked around before sitting on the bed and grabbing Hannah's remote.

The T.V flickered to life, and she switched the channel to Animal Planet. A documentary on poachers played. Sam watched with interest growing. A shot goes off as a tiger falls in the grass. The narrators voice is flat. "What jerks..." Samantha mumbled.

She unlaces the converse, setting them by the edge of the bed, before she drew her legs up to her chet, chin resting on her knees, and face forward. Her hand reaches for the beer she brought in, and she takes a long sip of it.
  • Seventeen-year-old Sam was not one to go to parties, not without knowing her friends would be there. Beth and Hannah had stayed home for that party, to her knowledge, and she was ready to meet up with them. By Hannah's text, tonight would be a 'girl's night, just not completely alone.' She had picked a random friend, someone not too close to her, but close enough to help her get ready. Angel, also called Angie was the one who had decided that they should go with a theme. Little Red Riding Hood was all fine and dandy by Sam's standards, just as long as she didn't have to wear the fur. Angie thought Little Red Riding Hood was fine too, just as long as Sam wore her hair down. So she arrived in a simple red dress with a short but flowing hood. Her shoes were nothing special, the black high top converse look was O.K with her.

She was not expecting there to be so many kids in the process of getting drunk. Her eyes scanned the crowd, as Angie slipped away to prowl around with her boyfriend. Where were Beth and Hannah? Hazel eyes flick over those she knew, as she made a mental list of who she might go and talk to just in case the twins had flaked on her, though she doubted they did. She settled on the fact that they were probably trying to be good, sober hosts, and were probably busy running around cleaning up. So maybe she should relax a little? Those red painted nails ran through her hair before she pulled out a hair tye, and as she walked up the stairs, walking around a couple making out, and tugging all the blonde strands back into a practical ponytail.

Some poor guy coming downstairs accidentally bumped into her and spilled a bit of his beer on her dress. After a moment of a slightly slurred apology, she walked past him, and into the hallway with the rooms. Samantha pulled out her phone, seeing one text from Hannah. 'Mike invited me and a few other's to go out and watch a horror movie instead. Won't be at the party till later!' Sam could feel her eyes roll. Fine, so Hannah flaked on her. Where was Beth then? She moved over to where she knew there was Hannah's room and pushed open the door.

Sam could feel her eyes roll. Fine, so Hannah flaked on her for a chance to hang with Munroe. Where was Beth then?

'I'm stealing your room for a fat second then. Text me when you get back from the movies.'

She moved over to where she knew there was Hannah's room and pushed open the door, gently shutting it behind her as she stepped in. There was the wide, purple interior with butterflies decorating the walls, in their wings were snapshots and memories. Sam moved over to where the door to the more private bathroom was, shedding the red coat onto the bed and going to get a hand towel wet. No way was she using the bathroom downstairs. Some girl was probably throwing up in there.

    { It was good! No need to restart. :D }

  • The clothes would be left with abandon for the night. Come morning, for the other, there wasn't any problem towards tossing them back on for the way home, and throwing them back into a washer to wear another day. Nik was rough on clothes, always had been. How his mother didn't chew his ear off over it when he was younger, who knew. He might've paid anything to hear it from her just one more time. It was beside the point right about now, wasn't it? He was happy to have his skin intact, let alone his clothes. Another successful evasion. Well... near success anyways. The next challenge was in finding the words.

Nikolas stare back was something between tired off his ass and a tad sympathetic. He'd put it short. Maybe as short as possible, but more so, as safely as he could. Light blue hues studied what he could see of the other, silence unnerving on his mind just as the creatures outside the laundromat window had been. Well, not quite as menacing. He saw a grin, or so he thought. Lifting one burden on his mind for now. An arm rose and rest above his head loftily as he waited for any sort of response.

A chuckle passed through his lips. By the time Josh had started unloading his '101 of reasons not to kick him out on the street', he was laughing. And grateful. Reminding himself best that his tone was kept low, lest he wake anybody up and cause even more panic. "Good." Nikolas mumbled, grinning vividly. "Well, I'm glad you think so too... I'd hate to ruin a party on my behalf anyways, y'know?" His head turned just slightly, watching the hand fall. Naturally, his eyes fell to where fingertips dangled over the edge. Just behind it, he saw an object's silhouette underneath the bed. His eyes strained. From the contrast of black and white it took a minute or so before he could grasp even a face of it. The longer his eyes stared, the more unsettling it seemingly became. Halloween was coming up... right? Still. He'd never seen anything like it before.

"Depends... you want me to be?" Nikolas questioned softly, keeping any bias from seeping into those words. He'd wait for the answer while shutting his eyes, blanket pulled up a tad to block out some light.
