"Sam...Samael...you must wake up now...Samael."
I heard my name being called out to someone, I tossed and I turned until I could no longer ignore that voice. When I opened my eyes I realized that it was mother who looked upon me with concern. I was curious to why she had such a look but then I shook my head to remove the haze of sleep. 'What is it mother, is everything alright?' I signed with my hands before tilting my head.
"I have come to get you, Lucifer needs to see you near the gate. Something has changed and he needs you for this. Go now my dear, before he leaves without you." Before he leaves without me, why would he leave and where is he going? So many questions were floating in my head but in the end I got up from my slumber and starts to head toward the gate.
Once I arrived I was met with Lucifer, Michael and...Abathar? I was baffled to see him here along with our elder brothers. I was going to question this meeting but Lucifer beat me too it in the end. "I am glad the two of you are here, I’m gathering a group of angels to investigate an unknown phenomenon. Something has formed between Realms."
"Its existence is something not made from Father's design. Its purpose is unknown to us, Samael— you and Abathar Muzania will be joining the party to see what lies ahead." This made me skeptical; curious to why was I going in the first place. Before I could ask, it was Abathar who beat me to it. "With all due respect sir, why are we taking part of this investigation?"
"I still have not achieved my halo, and Samael has not yet taken his vows." Abathar's words hold weight even though they were harsh. Vows; an Oath made by Angels, to swear to uphold balance and to protect the innocent in The name of Father and the Holy Spirit. A halo; a spiritual element that takes the form of a disk. An Angel achieves such a boon by taking part of what we call the Divination Pilgrimage.
"On the contrary this is why we brought you here, to achieve both feet's at the same time. Since this new enigma appeared Michael and I thought this would be the perfect chance to bring you two closer to accomplishing both goals." This perked us both up, to take care of two tasks such as this was like a dream. However Abathar was quick to show his skepticism toward Lucifer's reasoning. "Isn't that too convenient, that would mean Belevis and Levias will be part of the party."
Michael would nod his head confirming what Abathar had just mentioned. "The Majilis Qwas Qazah will be taking part of this mission. With them it should prove to be a fruitful adventure wouldn't you agree?" The Majilis Qwas Qazah; The Rainbow Council, they are known as the seven below Lucifer. One alone could take on any foe, with them together could lead to endless possibilities.
This only made Abathar more concerned, but I was mostly in awe at the thought of being in the same mission as the Majilis Qwas Qazah. "I sense your concern young Abathar Muzania, fear not for this mission will be beneficial for us all." Michael spoke up to calm his nerves which slowly but surely did. Though I remain skeptical I did not show it, even so I trusted Lucifer and Michael. So we made are way to a great tower, where the Rainbow Council await outside.
There I see Master Malazeth who was busy calculating the amount of new angels that were born by memory using his abacus. He is the Yellow shade of the council; he tends to angels measuring their worth and giving them their ranks, but not before testing them of course. By his side was Levias who was leaning on his shoulder watching him closely. The Blue of the council and always watching his fellow council members and always in motion, he never seems to stop for anything whether it be tasks, exercise or even talking. There is Hexacris the Green, who was watering nearby flora, he aided God in the development of plant life and helped with my green thumb.
"Young Samael, it's good to see you again, how is your tree growing?" Hexacris asked in a cheerful voice, I was happy to respond by giving him a thumbs up. "Ah wonderful, I am so proud of you. I hope it will grow into a beautiful apple tree in Eden." Such praise gave me hope for a future where that very tree that I have grown would one day bring great knowledge from just a simple bite.
The sound of metal can be heard as Belevis the Red sharpening his blade with a golden stone. A smirk was no his face as he gazed upon me and Abathar. "So these are the recruits in this mission? Hah I don't think they can even handle Nihilus if he put some effort in a fight!" As if being summoned from his name alone, Nihilus the Indigo emerged from the shadows next to Belevis only to place his hand on his shoulder just to get a good scare from him. "Nihilus in Father's name don't do that!"
Nihilus simply shrugged while crossing his arms. Then laughter can be heard as Xolofel The Orange would hovering down toward the group with a smile on his face. "You're just in time Abathar Muzania, Samael. We welcome you to join us." The Orange would humbly greet the both of us, I was nervous by their presence alone, feeling like a pebble sinking into a deep pond.
Finally there is the final member of the Rainbow Council, Azazel the Violet who was standing before the gates of heaven. He looked upon it with wonder, his face calm and collected as he pondered what was beyond those gates. When he finally acknowledged our presence The Rainbow council was fully gathered and encircled us. "We are gathered here to test the might of Young Abathar and Muzania and Samael, for this trial Samael with the aid of Levias shall take your vows to decide which rank you'll receive. Abathar Muzania; you shall face against Belevis in order to claim your Halo and become an Archangel."
"Prepare yourselves, for your trials begin...now." Levias would step toward me and guided me far from the other council members. He then started to speak to me like a long time friend. "The vows you take are passed down to every Angel. They represent prosperity and order through divinity."
"The vows will choose your role or now a millennium: hierarchy for you. Now you remember each hierarchy correct?" The hierarchies, I know them well for they determine what will become of us angel which are in the lowest while Archangels come after; Abathar had already taken his vows and was chosen to be one. Then there are the Principalities A new rank for the low for Eden that would maintain it. Then in the middle class are powers, Virtues and Dominions.
Finally the high class are Thrones, Cherubim and Seraphim. They are the most prestigious and valiant of them all. There are Two Seraphim's that I know (Dumah and Hutriel)and one Cherubim (Cassiel). I know several Powers and dominions and many archangels and thrones, Virtures are pretty rare albeit a small group. "Young Samael please stop inner monologuing or else you might lose focus." This made me made so embarrassed that I wrote a mental note to stop overthinking every single thing...even if it is never going to stop.
Levias would sit me down on the cold golden floor, my legs crossed as I begin to close my eyes. I would begin to focus while he circles me, measuring me up and scanning for any weakness in my posture. "Now do as I tell you Samael; imagine the sun, feel how it touches your skin...don't get too close or it will burn you. Can you imagine it Samael?" The description was easy to describe but for some reason I imagined the sun differently, instead of a golden light i saw a purple hue that seems to form from the sun which was covered in a dark shroud.
I felt its touch but what I expected was the heat of the sun or at least a warmth sensation...but instead I felt nothing but sheer freezing cold. It was an odd sensation but as I try to focus on that feeling something draws me in, the sound of fighting when I directed my gaze to the sound I witnessed Abathar clashing blades with Belevis who was relentless with each strike. The foot work and precision of the Red seemed to have the intention of not to train but to kill. Each swing was rough and thought out giving Abathar no time to counter every attack. Scars could be seen on Abathar's open arm revealing golden ichor. "If you don't attack then you'll end up dead, angels must always be ready to die in the name of our Father and protect the righteous!"
I watched on with awe, but as I do so I realize that the eyes I am using now in this trial were far more opening than my own, as if this was true sight. What I see are gold auras coming from both angels, Belvis Aura has red streaks while Abathar's was feint White. The feintness started to glow brighter as Abathar leaped at Belvis swinging his twin blades toward Belvis neck and chest area. However Belvis much quicker then he let on holding his blade up to counter the attack. Once their blades collided Belvis didn't even flinch instead he would simply thrust his blade causing Abathar to be pushed away like he was nothing but a feather. "All that calculation, all that instinct yet no heart."
"At this rate Abathar Muzania, you'll never gain your halo if there is no meaning!" Belvis aura began to become a dark red, his aura was overwhelming making me want to vomit. Is this the power of one of the member of the rainbow council? I am horrified to wonder what it would be like if they all released their potential. My thoughts were soon dashed away when Belvis began to swing his sword straight toward Abathar's neck making me feel—-something, something that drove me to scream and lash out...was this...fear?"
"ABATHAR!"
*My voice came out of me- through me as I called out to Abathar. I came out of my trance and looked at Levias wide eyed wondering what just happened. Then I would get up and ran off. "Samael wait!" I heard Levias scream out to me but i ignored him and made my way to Abathar where he and Belvis was at an open field where everything around them was barren and ruined but they combat. When I arrived I noticed something strange, the outcome that I witnessed in my trance was reversed. Abathar was standing his back facing Belvis back who just stood there before golden ichor splashed out of his chest as a large gash can be seen in the shape of a blade.
Belvis would fall to one knee holding his wound tightly while gritting his teeth. He should have been angry, upset or aggravated by this but he seemed to be smiling through the pain as he started to laugh full heartedly. "Well done boy, you managed to lay your mark on me. I am impressed, looks like you deserve that Halo after all." With that said, Belvis would stand up and starts to limp off the battlefield to go and give in the results of his rear to his fellow council members.
I would look confused, surprised even- how did things change in my perception so drastically, was I imagining it all? That must have been it, I was worried for nothing. With a sigh of relief I would turn away and started to walk back to Levias to continue my vows. That is until Abathar grabbed my hand stopping me in place. When I finally looked at him I saw his face as pale as milk, eyes wide and glossy, he looked upon me with awe and—that look I never seen such a look before that it made me feel petrified.
"Samael....what did you do?"
