"It's harder than you thought, right? I chose something that I wouldn't normally be able to do because it requires lots of certificates and degrees. I can't imagine staying in a classroom and learning things day in and day out for a decade," he commented as Aeya went on about her work, how she did art and taught martial arts. "I'd like to see your art, subjective or not. As long as it moves the right people, it doesn't need to be perfect," He thought aloud while thinking about artists he knew from his travels. The issue with art was that it was usually fragile, and crafts didn't really count toward it, according to most.
The next question was interesting enough for him to nod lightly, licking his lips as he thought about it. "Well, currently, I drive a 1970 Chevrolet Camaro with a few modifications under the hood. Things that make it more fuel efficient alongside more horsepower, as well as legal necessities, of course," Gerwulf stated while thinking of her supposed Ducati outside, perhaps he had seen it on the way in, yet, he couldn't really picture it at the moment. His mind stayed on the one topic at hand, which was the woman talking to him.
"They probably do, though not the kind of fare that one can get stuffed with. I'd suggest a diner or something on the way. I think there is one that stays open late, though it depends if your place is in that direction," Gerwulf said with a chuckle, still not really knowing where Aesa actually lived, nor the direction. He just randomly agreed to walk as long as the distance required of him. It wasn't like he had a job or anything that he had to get to in the morning. Right now, this was his style of R&R. Though, he'd have to figure out how to get his car along for the ride. It was heavily modded, so he doubted anyone would be able to smash and grab it without being caught.
Aesa gave an impressed whistle when he mentioned what kind of car he drove. That was nice. She liked classic cars. But she'd never owned a car once in her life. The MC had forced a bike on her at sixteen and it was all she'd driven since. It worked for her. It was fast. Could go places cars couldn't. If only the people who wanted to get their hands on her drove cars and not bikes. She was a good rider, and they didn't drive bikes made for speed like she did, so she still had some advantages. "If it's outside, you can point it out. I suppose we could leave my bike here and take your car, but... I don't think you're legal to drive at this point. I don't know how you're not on the floor or at least struggling to to talk properly. It's like you're drinking water."
There should be some dings going off in her head. Won't talk about where he's from. Ex-military or something similar. Way friendly. Almost kind of perfect. This was too good to be true. She finished her old fashion quick, motioning for another. Now she could feel the buzz starting to hit her. "You sure you're a real guy? There's got to be something wrong with you." She laughed softly. "Are you AI?"
Hopefully it was obvious she was joking. Mostly. It wasn't a big enough concern for her to be worried. It wasn't as if she couldn't take care of herself. Though with his size it'd be moves to get him off his feet and then run. Or go for the gun on her bike. Either one worked. She shushed the paranoid voice and went back to just enjoying the conversation. "There does happen to be an all night diner on the way to my place. It's not to far from here. About three blocks west of here." The bar was on the edge of a gentrified industrial area. Warehouses turned into apartments. Or businesses like hers. "Do you have a place to stay or do you need to borrow my couch?" She wasn't trying to give him the idea that she was willing to do anything, but she hated the idea of sleeping in his car tonight. It wasn't like he'd get to drive to a hotel with how much he was drinking after all.
"Well, you know it isn't water, you tried some yourself. As for struggling to talk, I'm basically someone whose blood is mostly alcohol most of the time," Gerwulf jested as he laughed deeply, though he did nod to her other point. "Yeah, I can point it out. Though it'd be easier for me to get back to my car than it would be for you to leave your bike out," Not even sure what he had said even made a lick of sense, even if he didn't get drunk easily, he could still be affected by alcohol. Blinking then as she downed her old-fashioned before waving for another from the waitress.
"Well, I'm pretty sure I'm real, though you could check later for yourself. As for something wrong, plenty of things." Making the statement with a shrug, as he wasn't going to say what kinds of things. Just that he wasn't perfect, given how he was acting or reacting, it wouldn't have been hard to point out certain aspects. For example, if Aesa wasn't too buzzed, she'd have noticed details including the beginnings of a scar he had on his neck going down the side of his collarbone and disappearing under his tank top.
Raising a brow as she offered her couch, he remembered her talking about it before, with how she let guests or others take it. "I'd honestly do one of three things: sleep in my car, find a motel, or just look for a park and sleep under the sky. However, your offer of a couch sounds nice." He wanted to say more, though it was unspoken that he wouldn't try anything with her while she was hammered. Maybe later on, if she sobered or they came to an understanding in the morning. Gerwulf had danced this dance with others before; it bled into each other after a while, yet he was still entertained and loved meeting new people like Aesa. Strong, confident women with the ability to put people in their place.
Aesa laughed and looked down at her glass when he offered to let her make sure he was real. "I might take you up on that. We'll find out when later comes." She hated the idea of him sleeping in the park or in his car. And motels were expensive. All of her money went to paying the mortgage on her building. The rest went to bills, food, and bike upkeep. She had enough left over to usually come to the bar once or twice a month. Thankfully most of the work on her Ducati she could do herself. She'd been working on motorcycles since she was a teenager. No way her grandpa was going to part with money to help her upkeep it. Even if she was doing work he we asking her to do. Rather demanding.
"Well, you're welcome to it. Just remember to put the seat down. I only have one bathroom." She gave him a grin, before sipping the new drink the waitress brought. She didn't want to get trashed, but she did want to loosen up a little more. She needed to stay sober enough to make clear decision. "I'm not sure what song to sing next. Got any suggestions?" She'd do some country, but she didn't know enough of it anymore to pick something. She could drop back to 80s and 90s songs. Some of those were really fun. She got a little lost in thought, blue eyes gazing out at nothing for a moment.
Aesa shook herself. "I'm sorry. I got lost in thinking about songs." A soft laugh left her. "So you really don't know where you're going after this town? Just gonna hang out until something pulls you away or boredom drives you out?" It seemed like a sad way to live, jumping from city to city, but then again he seemed like someone who liked to meet new people and experience new things. It'd probably be right up his alley. She'd been forced to move after short stays for a while. Now she was far enough from the West coast, she thought she'd settle down. "Think there will ever come a time when you'll settle down or do something different?"
The idea was there since she propositioned him in such an innocent manner previously. What she didn't know was that he loved sleeping outdoors, camping, and just reveling in nature. It was where he came from and where the world made a lot more sense. The issue with it nowadays is that if you slept like that in the confines of a civilisation, within a city or town. You were treated like nothing more than an unwanted transient. It annoyed him somewhat, however, you couldn't really change what the future would look like, and those who did were the types he didn't want to ever become.
As for the toilet comments, he just chuckled but didn't give a response. It was weird for people to worry about things like that. Perhaps the joke was supposed to be endearing, "At least you hav a bathroom, I've lived out of my car for a while before and had to go to trucker stops hoping they had water" He commmented as she began to ask for a suggestion for songs, his own mind wandering over the types of songs that she could go for. Not knowing her too well, he wasn't sure he could give a good one. "Could you sing some more rock, or did you want something softer?" Gerwulf spoke out before she seemed to lose herself in thought.
"Don't worry about it. Where to go after? Yeah, that sounds about right. I sorta just travel whenever I want, and entrench myself whenever I find something interesting to do. With that style of life, I've been all over the world." Unexpectedly asked about if he'd ever think of settling down, which made him laugh in that deep bellow. "Not laughing at you, but the idea that I'd settle down. Perhaps I'd have some place to return to. I just wouldn't be the type to stay still. I've done a lot of things in my time. What I do now is something that feels good, you know what I mean?"
