Hello Writer's Realm Testers!
We're moving right along with site work today. While the credit system will likely remain under maintenance into next week, we have some other exciting updates to bring to you today! Let's dive in!
We’ve adjusted group creation limits! While all members can still create groups with the same features, we’ve reduced the number of groups members can create to reduce future spam and blank groups—a problem many members remember from the old Writer's Realm site.
Regular Members & Realms Protector Subscribers: 1 group per account.
Realms Knight Subscribers: 3 groups per account.
Realms Guardian Subscribers: Unlimited groups.
We’ve streamlined email notification settings! Irrelevant options have been removed, and only notifications that apply to the site are now available in your member settings.
A new pop-up notification system has been added! This feature allows members to see notifications instantly without refreshing the page.
Notifications appear in the bottom-left corner and hover for 10 seconds before disappearing.
The notification bell remains the main way to view all notifications, but this adds an extra touch for active users.
With the new photo update underway, Profile Photos and Wall (Cover Photo) Albums have been disabled from view on any photo page. These photos are periodically cycled and deleted to preserve site storage, so they no longer need to occupy space on the new photos homepage.
We’ve revamped album limits based on subscription tiers:
Realms Knight Subscribers: 5 total photo albums.
Realms Guardian Subscribers: Unlimited albums.
This replaces the previous time-based album creation limits, making album management more flexible.
We’ve introduced custom categories for photo albums! These categories have been tailored to fit the site’s theme and can be found in the Albums tab on the homepage navigation.
You can now view other members’ photos directly from their profiles in a convenient pop-out display.
This new feature is located on the profile sidebar above the "Member Info" section.
While the default location may change, this functionality will remain.
To prevent abuse or harassment, we’ve added moderation tools to the gifting feature. Please remember to gift with kindness! Additionally, work has started on configuring the Community Leader Role (CLs), which will function as site moderators.
To better reward our hardworking staff, monthly credit payouts have been increased:
Admins: 10,000 credits.
Mods: 5,000 credits.
Design Staff: 2,500 credits.
Blogs and albums were never intended for groups but were mistakenly enabled for some members due to subscription settings. These features have been removed to keep the site’s focus on the main blog and photo sections. While not entirely off the table, we believe this is best for now.
We’ve resolved an issue where members couldn’t send messages unless they were friends. This fix makes it easier to contact site staff or other members as needed.
Album category graphics and icons are currently in development. Thank you for your patience as we replace the placeholder black boxes.
The new photo overhaul pages are still being adjusted for layout and functionality. Some features may appear irrelevant for now, but we’re working to streamline everything for better usability.
We’re aware of an issue where gift notifications sent using credits aren’t displaying properly. This is being worked on and will take some time to resolve.
Subscriptions are available to all beta testers, but please note that some features are still under testing. This may result in:
Photos/albums being deleted or missing.
Music uploads loading slowly or disappearing.
Certain features not functioning as expected.
Please report any bugs you encounter so we can resolve them!
We deeply appreciate members who want to support the site during beta testing. However, we encourage you to:
Proceed with caution when using real money as this is still a testing phase.
Use credits for now, as features and offerings may still change during beta.
Our custom commenting system is underway! Stay tuned for updates. Additionally, we plan to change the default layout to show newest comments first.
If you’ve purchased a subscription using credits, please note:
Subscriptions require admin approval (a hack prevention measure).
This process may be automated in the future for easier access.
