Hello Writer’s Realm Testers!

Did everyone have a good New Year? 🎉 We've been busy on the backend preparing new features for you—and we're still not done! More surprises are coming later this week, but for now, let's focus on the important stuff: bugs first! 🪰

Today’s Updates

Credits Are Back

• The credits system is finally repaired! Members can now purchase subscriptions using credits once again.
• If you previously attempted to purchase a subscription with credits but had your request denied, this was due to a bug that prevented admin approval.
• All pending requests have been cleared during the system refresh.
• If you used credits to purchase a subscription in the past and didn’t receive it, please resubmit your request now!

Member Subscription Icons

• Member subscription icons have been enabled, replacing the outdated "Member Subscription Status" that previously cluttered profile pages.
• Now, a simple badge will display a member’s subscription status. (All icons are currently a template and will be changed at a later date.)
• Note: Members without a subscription currently don’t have an icon assigned, so this section may either not appear or display oddly.

Photo Section Configuration

• The new Photos section has been under construction for about two weeks, and we’re still tweaking it.
• We’ve moved the photos on member profiles into a tabbed section instead of the left-hand sidebar.
• A new Album of the Month section has been added to the Albums homepage! This feature will now rotate monthly.

Forum Page Layout

• Forum pages have been restructured to improve mobile-friendliness. While it’s still a work in progress, it’s currently one of the most mobile-responsive features on the site.

New Music Feature

• The music feature has received a major overhaul with brand-new pages!
• Important notes:
  • All previous music and players have been wiped to avoid conflicts with the new system.
  • These pages aren’t fully configured yet and may not be mobile-friendly.
  • Some template categories are temporary and will be replaced with site-specific categories soon.
  • We’re aware of the issue where the activity feed spams every time a song is played—this will be fixed later this week.
  • The profile music player feature is currently unavailable. We plan to bring it back or replace it with a new "Music" tab on profile pages. Stay tuned!

Requests Panel

• A new Requests Panel has been added to both the homepage and user profile pages.
• This allows members to view friend requests and group invitations without having to sift through notifications.

Other Updates

Notification Errors

• We’re aware of a bug causing gift notifications sent using credits to display incorrectly. This is being worked on and may take some time to fully resolve.

Mobile Issues and Responsiveness

• Since each section of Realms is built and configured individually, mobile responsiveness is being updated section by section.
• While many areas aren’t yet 100% mobile-friendly, we’ll continue rolling out updates to improve mobile usability.

Important Notes for Members (Please Read!)

Subscription Reminder

Subscriptions are available to all beta testers, but please note:

• Certain features are still under testing, so you may experience:
  • Photos/albums being deleted or missing
  • Slow or missing music uploads
  • Features not functioning as expected
• Please report any bugs you encounter so we can fix them quickly!

Spending Money on Realms

We deeply appreciate your support during beta testing! However, since we’re still in the testing phase:

• Proceed with caution when spending real money.
• We recommend using credits for now, as features and offerings may change during beta.

Comment System Updates

Our custom commenting system is currently under development! Stay tuned for updates.
Additionally, we plan to change the default comment layout so that newest comments appear first.

Subscriptions with Credits

If you’ve purchased a subscription using credits:

• Admin approval is required to activate your subscription (this is to prevent hacking or abuse of the system).
• In the future, we plan to automate this process to make it more user-friendly.
