It's been a long time since we've had a proper announcement, and it's well overdue. Although I hate to start off with this as an excuse, many of you know I have a chronic illness that sometimes pulls me away. These past three weeks have been especially hard — hospital visits, testing, and rest have been my reality. Anyone who knows me knows how much I push myself with work in specific, and it’s painful for me to walk away from a project mid-process. But I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things, and I’m ready to finish what we started. So here’s the news wall of text:
The site has officially moved from staging to live!
We are no longer operating on a test domain — this is our final and permanent home.
While my original plan was to wait until mobile layouts and all pages were finalized, I realized there was no benefit in keeping the site private any longer. You’ll see continued updates and improvements as we go — but the writing, interaction, and creative fun can officially begin now.
The former website, hosted at roleplaylife.ning.com, will be removed forever on July 15.
Please take this time to transfer all of your important content — threads, photos, blogs, inbox messages, custom code, etc. Once it's deleted, there will be no recovery.
You may have noticed you currently can’t subscribe or make purchases. This is because the payment gateway is tied to our domain name, and with the move, it needed to be disabled temporarily for safety and reconfiguration.
It will be turned back on soon — I’ll post an update when that’s done.
Due to the site migration, all credit-based subscriptions were corrupted and automatically downgraded to the free member level.
To make up for this:
All members will receive 4,000 credits
You will be able to resubscribe manually anytime as the issue has already been resolved!

The live chat feature is still in development. We expect to have it installed within the next week or two. There were a few unexpected bugs, but progress is being made and it’s on the way.
Some features of the profile comment system are still under construction:
You currently cannot delete or edit your own comments. Nor do page owners have the option to delete another member's comment from their comment section.
This functionality is coming in a future update
We know this is inconvenient and are working on it.
Our music player system is live for certain member levels!
You can now:
Upload music
Create playlists
Add music to your profile
However, there's a current bug where songs are sometimes crossing over between profiles. That’s being worked on.
Also, music-related posts will soon be filtered to reduce clutter on the activity feed.
We’ve purchased our SSL certificate, and it will be installed soon. This will:
Remove browser “not secure” warnings
Improve overall site security
Fix some smaller site bugs
We’re continuing to improve how the site looks on mobile. Some things are still being cleaned up, but it’s already much more responsive than our old platform.
Additional fixes still to come:
Replacing the random lady! login page stock image
Completing the remaining CSS layout updates
All of your content has been transferred except for the photos inside the custom HTML boxes on profiles.
These didn’t carry over because:
The HTML boxes and comment sections were custom features, not part of the core platform
They were overlooked in the migration process, oops..
The good news? the site will never be moved again — so you won’t lose uploaded images this way in the future.

Let me explain why this move was so important.
This site is now fully owned by me. That means our old host — Ning — no longer has any claim over your writing, your characters, your blogs, your creative content... nothing. While most people don’t think about the fine print, the truth is: because we were using their platform, they technically had legal rights to anything created there. At any moment, they could have swooped in and taken ownership of something you poured your heart into.
That was never okay with me.
That’s why I pushed so hard for us to leave as soon as I found out.
That’s why I’m releasing this new site — even in its unfinished state.
And that’s why the old one will be deleted as soon as possible.
Because your writing should be yours.
Your creative works should belong to you.
No third-party nonsense. No vague policies. No limitations.
In addition to that — we’ve leveled up. We now have access to:
A dedicated server that only we use — not shared with strangers, not slowed down by outside traffic. That means faster loading times, even for members overseas.
Full control over our files, which means I can now create custom features that weren’t even possible on Ning. Such as some of the things already created:
Profile music
Custom commenting systems
A working credit shop
Premium forum signatures
Blog ownership and layout tools
Personalized CSS sections for profiles
...and there’s still more to come.
If you were ever one of the poor souls who had to reset a password on our old platform, you already know how limited we were. We didn’t even own the structure we were building on — which made it impossible to truly grow.
Now we do. And now we can.
So, even if it’s a little rough around the edges…
Even if we still have a few bugs and polish to apply…
