They were beginning to reach the new stages of life, and they will need guidance; guidance that God and The Imperium will benefit from. So they made an agreement; God will have his followers, and so will the Imperium. However the Imperium did not like sharing with one another so they went around the world making their own claim of power man makes their own pantheon of beliefs.
After the battle against Grigori there were some remnants of their followers who remained. They started to form cults and gather their own followers making separate pantheons. To remedy this the Imperium decided to slip into the ranks claiming to be Gods to be worshipped. They made sure to keep them in check so that they wouldn’t interfere.
In Kievan Ruthenia, Abaddon has claimed the land taking role of the God Chernobog. A fitting name for one who relishes chaos and evil. The people fear him and see him as the Doom of all things. They run from his shadow for it always looms.
In the Nordic lands, surprisingly there are two members who lay claim to the land. Ziminiar has taken residence into the cold ice, due to his feminine features and demonic visage they have given him the name Hel, ruler of the dead. Now other devil was of course none other than Titivillus; always inseparable. He had taken the mantle of Loki; God of Mischief and Father of Hel. This of course was his own way to anger Ziminiar into action, but nothing came out of this, for Ziminiar was as usual lazy.
In Greece, Amaymon adopted the name Aidoneus who ruled over the Underworld with riches and minerals. But mankind did not worship him, they feared him and what he represents. Fearing that his name would bring them closer to death they tried avoiding it and calling ‘He who must not be named.’ Or just call him by his domain: Hades.
The Aztecs worshipped none other than Mephistopheles, but they called him Mictlantecuhtli. They depicted him as an intimidating figure with skill for a head. They didn’t realize that he was so much more for he had taught them how to harness magic to his use but of course he made sure to manage them and make them not go out of line. Those that worship him bring sacrifices him to gain his wisdom.
In Egypt Corson has taken the role of Set. His rule was well known for his gluttony and power. He sought satisfaction through blood shed and the pain of others. No one was safe as long as he was around. His rule was unquestioned and brought war in order to quench his thirst.
Then there was Gaap who traveled to India to gain his power. But when he arrived he found it to be already inhabited by their own religion and saw through him. Without any choice he went to Greece taking the name of Dionysus and enjoy the pleasure of wine and splendors. It was all he could do after that humiliating defeat.
Although these were some of the religions they entered there are others and many attempts to claim them. But there was one who lingered in the shadows…a dark force was hanging among Babylon. One that could change the very fabric of existence.
