OC Process
There are several steps involved that require quick, simplified answers. Every answer or choice represents a general theme or specific subject.
First Step - Element and Essence
Every character is a fundamentally a soul during this process.
That soul goes through a series of reincarnations, which slowly alters their state (Element) while always maintaining their general nature (Essence).
Choose one Element for their life's phase: [Fire] [Water] [Metal] [Wood] [Earth]

Choose one Essence for their ongoing cycle: [Sun] [Moon] [Star]
Sun: Forward/Dominant; Emphasis on pursuit and leadership.
Moon: Backward/Reflective; Emphasis on wisdom and structure.
Star: Lateral/Supportive; Emphasis on collaboration and diplomacy.
(If there's an existing system that uses this concept for Essence, I haven't found or seen it. I tried looking it up.)
Second Step - One of Three
The following terms are seemingly random during the initial process, but a specific concept is assigned to each of them. There will be short explanations for each one, although the exact interpretation depends on the earlier Element and Essence.
Choose one of three for each. These explanations are watered down and incomplete.
1) [Physique] [Mystique] [Discreet]
Physicality/health, spirituality/science, or communication/culture.
Elements represent passion, Essences represent aptitude.
2) [Pillar] [Foundation] [Frame]
Developmental, foundational, and referential mentalities.
Elements represent immediate perception, Essences represent direction/reaction.
3) [Bird] [Squirrel] [Turtle]
Each animal is roots a particular poem or short literary work.
Elements represent genre, Essences represent tone.
4) [Temple] [Booth] [Bell]
Shirley Temple, John Wilkes Booth, and Alexander Graham Bell.
Elements represent accomplishment, Essences represent mannerism.
5) [Plane] [Car] [Ship]
Elements represent a concept based on engineering. Essences represent a concept based on the transport's purpose and features.
6) [Igneous] [Sedimentary] [Metamorphic]
Elements represent resilience, Essences represent adaptability.
7) [DPS] [Tank] [Healer]
Elements represent confrontation, Essences represent resolution.
8) [Communicate] [Deliver] [Manufacture]
Elements represent responsiveness, Essences represent retention.
9) [Red] [Blue] [Green]
Elements represent preferences, Essences represent expectations.
10) [Bronze] [Silver] [Gold]
Bronze, silver, and gold ratio. Elements represent aesthetic, Essences represent attraction.
Third Step - Fill In The Blank
Each of these are quotes from a musical/literary work. Do not use the original word for each quote.
1) "When the stars make you drool just like pasta fazool, that’s ( )."
2) "( ) makes the heart grow fonder."
3) "It takes two to ( )."
4) "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun the ( ) Bandersnatch!"
5) "Beyond this place of wrath and tears looms but the horror of the ( ), and yet the menace of the years finds, and shall find, me unafraid."
6) "Take up our quarrel with the foe: to you from failing hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it ( )."
7) "When I come home at night, I bolt the door real tight. People call me on the phone, I'm trying to avoid. But can the people on TV see me, or am I just ( )?"
8) "The minutes calling through the years, the universal ( ) rises up above his earthly burden."
9) "If the Lord should come for me before I wake, I wouldn't want to go if I can't see your ( )."
10) "Don’t be down, my own, but rough it, And distinguish buffet, buffet; Brood, stood, roof, rook, school, wool, boon, Worcester, ( ), to impugn."
The answers are meant to inspire thought and response. This can be used to help challenge the type of consistent/potential language your character may choose.
Fourth Step - Match the Pair
Match a [Term] from the pool A with a term from pool B. Do not choose the same term twice.
A: [Rarely] [Usually] [Frequently] [Passionately] [Mysteriously] [Reluctantly] [Comedically]
B: [Mature] [Ferocious] [Studious] [Alluring] [Logical] [Lucky] [Cunning]
While the initial steps are broad and abstract, the remaining steps begin to funnel narrow and specific concepts. This will hopefully inspire revision and consideration with previous choices before getting too far.
