Character History/Story

"And what do they call you?"

"Me? Me, I go by a few names in a few different circles..."

"Ah, the Bastard Kincade."

SOLOMON 'THE BASTARD' KINCADE

Who's the man that many call 'The Bastard'? On paper, Solomon Kincade is hardly the fit for such a name, such a title. An apt magician, excelling in the art of shadow magics, who's studied under many wizards, witches and warlocks. He's an 'Inheritor'; an individual tasked with the learning, recording and passing on of certain magical arts that're at risk of being lost over the years, ensuring that they can be kept and taught in many different schools of magic, to further extend a world of magic and ensure that new generations can learn. Though another job of an Inheritor is, if need be, ensuring that certain darker arts are recorded and kept away, never to see the light of day. This ranges from items, books, spells, catalysts and even the very utterance of certain words. Anything that can be used in the wrong hands to bring about harm is forbidden to all but Inheritors and High Mages, just to keep a peace between magic users and normal people, despite that peace being on the cusp of breaking.

To many in the magical world, Solomon is quite a known face. A quiet man but a pleasant man nonetheless, someone who can spend hours on end with nothing but a few cups of tea and a dusty old tome.

HOWEVER

Not all that Solomon does is for the sake of others, his reasons are far from selfless and he harbors a slightly darker intent with his actions. In a logical world, he uses what he knows to ensure that the aforementioned peace is still kept up. In his eyes, peace can be kept if those wishing to break it are not taken in, but taken out by the Inheritor's own usage of the darker arts. It made him into sort of a vigilante, doing his best to try and evade both legal forces and the more magical based enforcement. Does that make him bad? No. His intentions come from a good place.

To Solomon, it's about a sense of balance.

While yes, he kills other magical users but in doing so he taints a part of him. He accepts such a necessary dip to greater evils, as long as it ensures that he can keep those he holds dear safe, and that the unknown tensions of the wavering peacetime.
