 Character transformations, character development, epiphanies and lessons learned. Good stories rarely follow linear fashions; there are ups and downs, moments of peace and high euphoria, and the downs of mistakes and actions that characters wish they could forget.

What does your character regret?

What sins do they carry with them?

How have they learned from those lessons and carried that knowledge to where they are now? Did they even learn anything at all?

✨PROMPT:

Write out a scenario where your character confesses to sins or wrongdoings they have committed, or any lingering regrets that they cannot shake.

Make them reflect on these. They can confess either to another character (either one of your own making, or you may collaborate with other writers), a religious leader or deity, or simply to their own selves in a moment of self-reflection or coming to terms with something that happened.

It can be a forced confession, or one your character willingly releases.

You may also include a ray of hope for your character at the end of it all; a hope for redemption, or ways they can learn from their past mistakes and become a better version of themselves.

Or, on the flip side, is your character unremorseful of the sins they have committed? Do they confess with a boastful air, and care not for their wrongdoings? Are they even aware that the things they did were wrong?

This prompt is purely up to your own interpretation, so have fun with it!
