Β

We can skip the fairytale, can't we?

" Let's cut to the chase. I was just a girl living in her own little world. I was my mother's pride and my father's joy. At least... that's what they told me. That's as much as I can remember. I grew up peacefully at the bottom of the upper class in Lyons, France. Yes, I was the child of lace, silver spoons, and strangling corsets that dictated the everyday life façade my family lived within. This was long before thoughts of revolution within the country came and went.

Above all... I was a dancer. An award-winning dancer. By nineteen, I had nobles and aristocrats eating out of the palm of my hand, if only for ten to twenty minutes a night. By the time the last song finished and the violin strings stopped singing, I had every set of eyes on me that the spotlight could reach.Β

I don't remember much from that night. I remember the lights, the applause. I remember the flowers that fell on the stage edge and the sound of the stagecoach pulling up in wait for us that night. The show was over and the concert hall was packed up. That, my friend, is when the story ends.

"

Β

You and I both wish.

" It was dark. I remember well the dreaded burning sensation that made me want to peel off my own skin. I remember screaming, but not being able to move. There were voices, I couldn't remember from what, or who. It felt like fire. I didn't know for how long. One thing I know is that in those early years... time was a strange thing.Β

I woke up inΒ that place.Β It wasn't France, certainly not home. For the longest time, I didn't know where I was.Β I was no longer the little girl. I was no longer a daughter, a dancer, my father's joy, or my mother's pride. I wasn't anything I recognized besides a pale shadow of myself.

Months passed. They turned into decades, and then centuries.Β From time to time, we were nomads across Europe. Before long, I knew more about the world than ever despite existing in the shadows of it.Β Β They kept us alive and hungry by their doctrineβ€”their protocols. I knew those words by heart before I ever knew anyone by name. Their hierarchy wasn't up for discussion. The rules were as real to us as the perpetual burning in our throats, and as for their punishment..?

I spent years in that place.

I spent decades in those trees... until?

Well, I never did listen.Β

"

Β

What matters about our story,
Love, starts now.

" That night the sky was clear, the stars overhead were bright as if they themselves were watching. I don't know what snapped in me.Β He told me not to... I knew I had to. All of a sudden I wasΒ running. I let the trees become a blur, trees that were so familiar that I memorized the shapes of roots over the years. Just as suddenly as the territory edge came, for the first time in centuries, I passed through it alone. The trees changed. To my surprise, there were no immediate footsteps to follow. The stars above came and went. By the time I had stopped running, the sun had risen. And with each time the sun set, I kept running.

He couldn't stop me.

SheΒ couldn't reach me.

Their rules couldn't even touch me.

Not if I kept moving.

"

Β

If it takes a monster,
I'll be one.

" Thirty years later, and no surprise I'm still running. The Coven has been on my heels every step of the way, or at least however often Abram proves he can keep up. That man taught me everything I know. Everything I never wanted to learn. Everything that I had to, in order to survive this existence that I never asked for. Maybe I owe Abram my lifeβ€”but not my future.

No matter what I say, no matter what we've been through, deep down I know he'll never. He's a fool for thinking he could convince me otherwise. He doesn't see it, none of them do... And for the others? They might never listen.

I know one thing for sure. Help or notβ€”I'm going to burn this whole fucking system to the ground.

And when it comes to an end?

I promise you.

I'll be holding her head.Β

Welcome to the story of the elusiveΒ Lucienne De Norcio.Β Ever since abandoning her coven and effectively starting a manhunt for her head, Lucienne is constantly on the move from location to location. This newfound freedom has taken her to different corners of the world, ducking and weaving through major cities for as long as they provide her cover. Just as hellbent as Luci is on escaping, she also has her eyes peeled for any assistance she can grasp onto in her grand scheme of dismantling the coven system that she was raised within. Are you along for the trouble, or is she wrapped up in yours?

Most would describe Lucienne as... difficult. Β She is a ball of defiance and stubbornness that even the coven's ritualsΒ and brainwashing couldn't keep contained.Β She is naturally headstrong and independent in nature with a knack for getting what she wants, no matter what.

Lucienne bleeds charisma when she enters a room and has no shyness about herself.Β A large personality balances out, however. She also has a fiery, often red-hot temper that can be explosive given the circumstances.Β  Her moods can change from high to low in a way that seems almost manic at times.Β

The vampiress is no stranger to taking risks and running head-first into situationsβ€”all with the utmost confidence that she will make it out. Her unpredictable and sometimes chaotic tendencies mean that she is just as likely to pick up new trouble with strangers wherever she ends up.

Lucienne isn't afraid to pursue someone of interest to her, and romance is no different. The vampiress is non-committal, but no stranger to finding company where the opportunity arises. Much like anything anything else, when she feels something, the fire burns hot. Her past is riddled with one-night stands and short, fast-burn relationshipsβ€”no harm no foul?Β  mostly.Β  At the first feeling of being boxed in, she has a tendency to run.Β

Very open to communicating ideas to steer the plot.

Violence, mischief, and 18+ should be expected.

Any large city for a setting? Middle of nowhere? We'll make it work. Very flexible.

π–›π–†π–’π–•π–Žπ–—π–Šπ–˜.

Everyone has their own system for vampirism, here's mine.Β

This is my baseline, part of which I owe to Apollonius Grimm.
if you have questions then let's chat.
Β 12270090697?profile=RESIZE_400x

  • I treat the change as a genetic mutation that alters the body by eradicating red blood cells while letting white blood cells (and other bodily structures) mutate.
    Β
  • White blood cells kick into overdrive and double. Vampire's body becomes a higher concentration of 'fast twitch' muscles which aids in strength.
    Β  Β
  • Vampires are cold-blooded due to the lack of an effective circulatory system, and feed on blood in order to replenish those missing red blood cells.
    Β
  • Vampiric strength/speed etc. comes from the mutation and the body's ability to push past pain receptors that no longer fire in the brain. Increased senses and awareness also come from this. Likewise, a vampire's ability to heal quicker is genetic and depends on how often they feed.
    Β
  • I treat vampires like theyΒ do have a circulating system, it's just so ungodly slow that it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. The more fed they are, the quicker, but it's hardly a measurable change.

12270090697?profile=RESIZE_400x

  • I rank a newborn between 0-125 years. Longer depending on upbringing.
    Β
  • I see vampires between 200-500 years as mostly having their shit together with a varying degree on how likely they might make mistakes.
    Β
  • I rank an Elder at 1000 years.

    12270090697?profile=RESIZE_400x
  • Breathing is not necessary to survive, but is necessary to take in scents and be able to speak. Air needs to reach the lungs for either of those to happen.Β
    Β
  • SleepΒ is not necessary, but could be done as a meditation to give the brain a mental break, or to speed up healing.
    Β
  • Fidgeting is done only to blend in. Vampires shouldn't be able to have a physical panic attack, but their minds can go fast enough to get in a cycle of over-fidgeting.
    Β
  • Eating human food is done to be social or blend in. Their metabolisms burn it off rather quick.
    Β
  • Things like hair and nails grow at a very,Β very painfully slow rate. Similar to how I handle the circulatory system. They would also be more pale and lackluster.

12270090697?profile=RESIZE_400x

  • A stake/puncture wound to the heart can be fatal enough to beat out a vampire's healing. They can be revived if given blood quickly after to combat it.Β
    Β
  • Sunlight can be lethal, but not instantly. Vampires are in a constant state of deterioration if they do not feed, and strong UV rays speed that process up. I have it get worse as the vampire ages.
    Β
  • Fire can be lethal (and efficient for disposal).
    Β
  • Beheading is lethal and can beat out a vampire's healing.
    Β
  • GarlicΒ may detour a vampire, but it's more so because the smell is potent enough to throw them off guard. Any strong seasoning or herb that isn't expected also falls under the category. Younger vampires with less control over filtering their senses would have more issues with this.
    Β
  • Holy water and crucifixes do nothing. Sorry.Β
    Β
  • Vintage mirrors containing silver will not show a vampire. Modern mirrors and digital cameras will. Social media nowadays is probably a vampire's kryptonite.

12270090697?profile=RESIZE_400x

  • Drugs and alcohol have no effect on vampires. Magic spells or magical hallucinogens may be possible to alter a vampire's perception.
    Β
  • A demon's blood would be potent and even sought after. The blood of someone possessed by a demon would be considered tainted.
    Β
  • Animal blood is B-tier but will work. Generally available in higher volume than human blood.
    Β
  • The blood of a corpse will cause sickness and is a last resort.

12270090697?profile=RESIZE_400x

Alright my heathens, let's talk aboutΒ sex.

  • First of all... no.Β
    Β
  • With everything I have told you about a vampire's nerves and blood flow in this version of lore, there's not a whole lot possible! No vampire by those rules should be able to get erect, have a rapid heartbeat, sweat, or do all the other things that coerce mortals into having sex with one another.Β

HOWEVER,Β

  • That doesn't mean they wouldn't be able to indulge a living partner with those experiences. I view sexual romance as a bonding activity over an act of passion for a vampire.
    Β
  • I'm sure there could be some magical ways to loophole this (none of which I care to write).
    Β
  • Vampires areΒ sterile, change my mind.

Β

Phew! Now we're all the day down here.

If you have any questions, just ask. I'm fine with adapting what I do in order to make it work for a thread, or keeping some details out so that wires don't cross. If you have questions or want to chat about lore let me know.

  • "A risk not worth taking ifΒ someoneΒ brought me into the circle earlier." Agnes grumbled quietly with a furrowed brow. Her expression didn't change as she watched the vampiress lean forward, the demoness crossed her arms with a slight tilt of her head. "Are you fucking listening to me? I never said VittoriaΒ wasn'tΒ a threat, we will deal with her, I'm saying she may not be the only one."Β  She clarified, listening quietly to the rest she had to say quietly.

"So then...what's your next move? Convincing Dom?" Whether or not Agnes trusted Lucienne to accomplish that, she wanted him to stay more than anything. "...Anything you need from me that you'll think will help convince him, I'll do it."Β

  • (I am sorry I just saw in your profile you had listed threads are closed, I will send you a message as well in a moment copying and pasting this. I can't recall who added who but if you are unable to take this thread please let me know? I see you are online so I hope this reaches you in time, thank you.)

  • (Hello there care for a plot? Are you available for a role play?)

  • "-I know!" Agnes snapped in a volume that only those in close vicinity could hear, cutting off the rest of her sentence. She sighed a slight frown, before returning to her previous volume. "I know." Everyday she thought about how the next time she saw Dominic would be her last, that he would one day vanish without leaving any word or trace.

Agnes listened intently, her stare was kept on the vampiress until she finished speaking. Lucienne would notice her eyes widen ever so slightly when the realization came to her, then her brow furrowed that cold, icey stare returned. "You remember the night I found you in my apartment? I told Dominic how I almost asked for Dahlia's aid to take down the coven by force that night, and thats when we fought. If I had already known Dahlia was a part of this, I wouldn't have said shit to either of them." Bitterness laced her words.

Another sigh to release the tension, what's done is done. "..And how do you expect Dominic to agree? Let alone speak to Abram? You said it yourself, he'd sooner run than start a war. And how are you so sure Vittoria is the head of the coven?" Agnes inquired quietly.

"The only other piece of information about the coven he gave me, besides all of your names, is that England is just one faction, and killing Vittoria could possibly cause a chain reaction of hidden faces and names coming out of the woodwork. Are you ready for that?" She whispered with a slight tilt of her head.Β

  • Agnes was quiet after she spoke, the amused expression on her face was short lived. She sat still, as if she was trying to blend into her seat and the shadows that shrouded her. Her tracking Dominic and whether he wanted her to felt like a fight waiting to happen. The American accent and what Lucienne said next was met with a cold, unamused stare.

"It's never been an option, we both have ties to the city that we cant risk leaving or breaking off from." Agnes said quietly. The stare held up as Lucienne proposed what she was going to do next.

"And how do you plan on doing that?" Agnes inquired as she crossed her arms and leaned back in her seat.

  • (Thanks for accepting my friend request, If you're ever donw to plot out a roleplay, feel free to send a message!)Β

  • Let me know if you'd like to write sometime! Great page btw.

  • As Agnes approached the booth, the vampiress could read off her body language and attire she wasn't here for the atmosphere, the demoness wondered herself how Lucienne could stand to be in here with all this...commotion. She wore a black turtleneck, dark jeans and boots, with a jacket hanging on her shoulders. A glance was given to the performance as she took her seat in the booth. When the waitress approached, Agnes ordered a Shirley Temple, might as well have something while she was here.Β

A huff escaped her at Lucienne's first question. "He texted me, and we made up." That was all the details Lucienne was going to get about that topic. The waitress came back with her drink, placing it before her. "We don't see each other everyday y'know." She commented before taking a sip. "But I did tell him I have a lot of work to do today, if that gives you any relief." For just a moment, Agnes took a mental note if she could trace his scent, whether or not she could, her attention was on Lucienne.

"He's suspicious, he asked me yesterday if I made contact with anyone in the coven. I told him I haven't actively reached out to anyone in the coven, I don't consider you a part of it...unless you do?" Agnes inquired with a slight head tilt.

  • The day wasn't busy, she practically waited for nightfall. Her mind riddled with turbulent thoughts battling each other.Β This felt wrong...what if he knows? He'll be upset with me again, and then it'll be over for sure....but he's kept things from you. What else don't you know? He says he loves you, he wants to keep you safe, but in the end he's just keeping you in a shelter and leaving you in a room.

Louie was fed and lay in his bed as Agnes left the apartment that evening. She's always seen the place from the outside, always thinking her father might be spending his nights there, and now she had a reason to enter. The energy of the placeΒ  flooded her senses immediately, it was a good place to hide.Β Second floor, blue hues scanned for stairs, and when found them, looked around for her. Once she had, the vampiress would see her approaching in full black.

"Bon'soir." Agnes greeted, sitting opposite from her. "Let's talk."

  • A little swan summoned me with the whisper of my name and tales of a new vampire.

    Welcome to the flock.Β
