Character Appearance

He appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties, yet there is an unmistakable weariness in his eyes, a depth to his gaze that suggests he has lived far longer than his youthful appearance would indicate. His hair, streaked with grey, gives him the air of someone who has weathered many storms, both literal and metaphorical. Though his face is still youthful and his movements swift, there’s a quiet heaviness about him—an unspoken weight carried from years of hardship, loss, and survival. It’s as if the passage of time has etched itself into him in ways that are not immediately visible, but which become apparent to those who look closely enough. His outward youth is a mask, a shell that doesn’t quite match the man beneath.

Character Personality

He might look like the kind of person you’d steer clear of—stoic, serious, and a little intimidating, with an air of someone who doesn’t suffer fools gladly. But in reality, his tough exterior is more of a shield than a true reflection of who he is. Beneath that rough-and-ready surface, he’s surprisingly warm, with a dry sense of humor and a playful streak that emerges once he feels comfortable around someone. While he can be blunt and direct with people he doesn’t know, those who get close quickly realize he’s far more easygoing and fun-loving than they first expected. He has a way of lightening the mood, even in tense situations, and is the first to crack a joke or pull off some mischievous prank just to see people laugh. Despite his jovial side, though, anyone who’s earned his trust knows that when it matters, he’s fiercely loyal and protective of those he cares about. He’s the kind of person who might joke around one minute and be ready to lay down his life for his friends the next

Character History/Story

Drauf’s story began in the harsh wilderness of Scandinavia, around the year 750. He was born to unknown parents, his origins a mystery that would remain unsolved for much of his life. Left to die in the forest as an infant—abandoned either by fate or the cruelty of those who had no use for him—he was saved by the wild creatures of the land. A pack of wolves, sensing his fragile pulse among the trees, took him in and raised him as one of their own. For years, Drauf lived alongside them, learning to hunt, to survive, and to communicate in the primal language of the wild. It was a life of both freedom and danger, where every day was a fight for survival.

But even the wilds could not protect him forever. Eventually, Drauf was discovered by a group of hunters, tracking the elusive beasts in the forest. He was no longer the helpless child left to die, but a feral young man, wild-eyed and strong, unrecognizable as human in his ragged, wolf-like appearance. It took a squad of elite hunters to subdue him, but capture him they did, bringing him back to civilization—not as a man, but as something closer to a beast. For years, Drauf was enslaved, forced into grueling labor by those who saw him as nothing more than a tool to be used and discarded. His body, honed in the wilderness, was a weapon, and it was put to work until he could no longer bear it.

Then, as fate would have it, a band of raiders attacked the village where Drauf was enslaved. The roar of battle and the clash of steel freed him from his chains. Drauf, seeing an opportunity for freedom and adventure, joined the raiders, his spirit finally tasting the life he had once known in the wild—a life of movement, of war, and of honor. His new companions taught him the ways of their people—how to fight with a sword, how to navigate the seas, how to craft his own future from blood and steel. Though it was a world far removed from the one he had grown up in, Drauf quickly adapted, his wilderness instincts giving him a ferocity that few could match.

By his mid-twenties, Drauf had made a name for himself within the settlement he now called home. He was a fearsome warrior, respected by his peers, and his reputation spread far and wide. His skills in battle were unmatched, and his stoic demeanor earned him the admiration of those who fought beside him. He had learned to temper his wild nature, and he found a place among them that was more than mere survival—it was a home, a community, a family. The elders of the village saw in Drauf not just a fierce fighter, but a man of rare strength and character, and they welcomed him into the fold.

Yet, despite the bonds he had forged and the respect he had earned, Drauf could never shake the restless hunger that burned deep inside him. The wilds still called to him, the open road whispered his name. He had never been a man to stay in one place for too long. After earning the blessing of the village elders, Drauf set out on his own, determined to carve his own path once again. His departure was bittersweet, as he left behind friends who had become like family, but Drauf knew that the road was where he truly belonged.

For years, he wandered, moving from one land to another, seeking something he could not quite name. At times, he would return to the settlement, checking in on the people who had once been his kin. But as the years passed, those he had known began to grow old, their faces fading into the past. The elders who had once guided him were gone. The friends he had fought beside were no longer there. Drauf found it increasingly difficult to return, unable to face the inevitable passage of time and the death that came with it.

The pain of seeing his past slipping away was too much for Drauf to bear. He stopped returning home altogether, choosing instead to roam the land, a shadow of his former self. The world had changed around him, and he had changed with it. Where once he had been a part of a close-knit community, he was now a lone figure, wandering the wilderness he had once called his own. He had become a legend in his own right, his name spoken in whispers by those who had heard tales of the wild man raised by wolves, the fierce warrior who had once fought for honor and glory.

But in the quiet moments, when Drauf sits alone by the fire or gazes out over the horizon, he cannot help but wonder if he has been forgotten—if the people he once cared for have moved on, if his name has faded into the mist of time. The world keeps turning, and Drauf, the warrior who once fought to find a place for himself, continues his journey alone.

  • Rey's smile began to fade as soon as she saw Drauf's reaction. She continued to watch as he turned away from the rest of the group and started heading back to the ship. Their victory didn't seem to faze him at all. Rey's brow furrowed with confusion and she also stepped away from the Rebels who would also start to follow from a ways back.

"Drauf! Hey, Drauf!" Rey called out, trying to get his attention as she lightly jogged over to him. It wasn't immediately obvious to her that he wanted to be alone. But she thought he could use some words of encouragement. "What's the hurry?" she asked with a small smile, but when she didn't received one in return Rey contemplated her next words carefully.

"Look, um..." she began as they continued to walk together. "I just wanted to say that you did good back there. I know it didn't exactly go...according to plan," she added with an awkward clear of her throat. "But we did what we came here to do, and I'm sure Leia will be impressed. I know it might not feel like it, but we made a difference today." 11072083859?profile=RESIZE_180x180

  • She was glad to see him somewhat feeling like himself again, although she could sense the inner turmoil underneath and knew that would be a conversation for a different time. Right now they needed to hurry and blow up the base before the First Order caught wind of what they were doing. "You see those support pillars?" she asked, pointing to one in each corner of the room, making four in total.

"Attach the explosives to each one. When the bombs go off, it'll cause the building to collapse, destroying the base and the weapons all in one go." Rey kept one for herself, and gave the other two to a couple of Rebels who were not quite as disturbed about what had just happened. Rey instructed the other Rebels to wait outside before getting to work. One by one each bomb was placed, and Rey waited until everyone was back outside before reaching for the detonator.

Once she was positive that everyone was out, Rey pressed the button that would set off the explosives in thirty seconds. "Get to the trees!" she called out, making sure that they were far enough away not to get hit by the explosion. Everyone retreated to the woods, and not a moment too soon. A deafening blast sounded throughout the field. The base exploded into thousands of pieces, with chunks of wall, weapons and dead Troopers scattered throughout. After a few seconds of letting this sink in, the Rebels then gave a triumphant cry and started high fiving and patting each other on the back. Rey smiled at their celebration, but looked over to Drauf to see if he was enthused as well.

  • Rey gave a jolt and a gasp when Drauf held onto her wrist. It wasn't at all what she had expected him to do and so she was completely unprepared for it. With her free hand she ignited her saber out of instinct, and for a brief, terrifying moment she thought that she was going to have to kill Drauf in order to save herself.

However, just when it seemed like she would have to defend herself, he returned to his normal self and she saw the moment the real Drauf came back. For a moment, Rey was quite speechless and didn't know what to say. When he asked the question, she turned and saw the others that had gone with Drauf as they came in through the other door, following the trail of wreckage and blood he had left behind.

The young Jedi gave a soft sigh, as it seemed that everyone had been accounted for. That was good news at least. "Just the Stormtroopers," she said with a nod as she offered her hand to help him stand back up. As he apologized, Rey's expression softened in deepest sympathy. She couldn't possibly find it in her heart to be mad at him, or even disappointed. She was just glad he was alright, as well as the rest of the team.

"Hey, Drauf...it's okay. It's like you said, you didn't mean to. What matters is that we're all safe." She then paused and looked around at the weapons in the storage room. "There's still one more thing we have to do. Are you with us?" Rey asked, reaching out and offering him one of the explosives that they were going to use to blow up the base. As she did so, she smiled faintly, as if to silently convey that she forgave him, and knew that he was capable of helping them finish the job.11062755055?profile=RESIZE_400x

  • On Rey's side of things, everything seemed to be going well. Her group was able to make their way through inside the base; taking down Stormtroopers along the way. It was definitely more heavily guarded than the intel had suggested. With Rey and Drauf on their side, however, it was more than enough to turn the tide and keep the odds in their favour.

However, the closer they got to the weapons storage...a looming sense of unease began to build in Rey. "Something's wrong," she whispered to herself. It was then that she realized she could sense Drauf, and that he was somewhere up ahead. She could feel his presence but not his energy, as if he was asleep...or perhaps even dead. She gasped and ran forward, praying that the latter scenario was not the case.

As her group rounded the corner, they saw him laying on the floor; surrounded by a huge puddle of blood. Rey glanced at the half-eaten Trooper and swallowed hard, trying not to be sick by it. She had seen worse on Jakku, at least. Unfortunately some of the other Rebels were not so lucky. Two of them immediately retched at the sight and went off to vomit in the corner.

Trying to keep her composure, Rey made sure that the coast was clear before kneeling down and reaching out to pat Drauf on the back. "Hey...Drauf? Are you okay?" she would ask a couple times while lightly shaking him. She had a feeling he wasn't dead, but she got the sense that something had happened here; something he hadn't anticipated or wanted.

  • Rey was silent for a moment. At first it might have seemed like she was trying to decide whether or not she would think less of him, but that wasn't the case at all. "I haven't known you for very long, Drauf...but I can say this. If you continue to show the same honour and courage that you have shown us today by joining this mission; if you fight by our side and support us however you can...then I couldn't care less what you look like. Who you are inside...that's what really matters."

She almost seemed surprised at herself by what she had said, as though she hadn't expected it to come out that way. But it was really how she felt, and she knew that the other Rebels would feel the same. Or at least, she hoped so. When things grew more analytical again, Rey would nod as she listened to his response, going over everything in her head to make sure they had all their bases covered. She also gave a small laugh at his joke, as did some of the other fighters.

"You three, with me...the rest are with Drauf. Let's do this," Rey said, taking her lightsaber hilt off her belt and igniting it. She then took her group and went along to the west side of the building. They successfully snuck up on the Troopers, and with the Rebels providing back-up, Rey let loose, swinging her lightsaber and taking out her enemies with swift, aggressive efficiency. 11038337090?profile=RESIZE_180x180

  • Drauf's shift in behavior didn't go unnoticed by Rey. When they were just a few minutes out from the base, she walked closer to his side and leaned in to talk quietly. "How are you holding up?" she asked. Through the force she could feel that something had changed, almost like he was changing into a completely different person. His energy felt more primal and beast-like, which would make sense considering what he had told her so far.

Pretty soon the weapons base was within eyesight, and the group took a second to pause in the trees before making their way over to it. With her binoculars, Rey could see about four or five Stormtroopers patrolling the outside of the base, and no doubt there would be more inside. "Okay, I'm thinking we do this quietly. I can lead some fighters to the west side of the building, you can do the same for the east side. And then we can take them out stealthily. How does that sound?" she asked, wondering if he would approve or opt for the more direct approach instead.

  • When he talked about Hosnian Prime, Rey immediately sensed some strong emotions coming from him. She could tell it was a horrible memory and that whatever had unfolded was something Drauf could never change. It would likely haunt him for the rest of his life, just like the day when Rey's parents left her forever.

"I'm sorry," was all she would say, not wanting to pry about it any further. When they were on the ship, the other Rebels turned and nodded when Drauf spoke about his abilities, giving quiet responses like "Sure" and "Okay, sounds good". During the trip, Rey would also close her eyes but in a different way. She was meditating and drawing strength for the battle ahead.

In a couple hours the dropship would arrive at Endor, flying over the trees before promptly landing in a small field. From here, it would be a straight shot to the base, about a 30 minute walk. "We should be far out enough for them to not suspect anything," Rey said as they exited the ship. She took a moment to appreciate the beauty of Endor, the sound of chirping birds and the woodsy smell in the air. She then waited for everyone to leave the ship before walking in the direction of the base.

  • "Alright, if you say so," Rey said with a nod as she led him to the armory anyway. She wanted a new thigh strap for her blaster and a couple thermal detonators just in case. She offered a couple to Drauf as well. "These aren't for blowing up the base, there'll be more powerful explosives on the ship," she said, just in case she needed to clarify.

When she heard his next statement, she smirked a little and placed a hand on her hip. "Well, you'll fit right in with us then. Many of of us have lost someone we loved to the First Order, or our homes. Either way, you're not the only one who wants some payback," she assured. Checking the time, Rey would see that it was almost time for their ship to leave. "We should get going."

As they entered the ship, Rey exchanged "hello"'s with the other Rebels before sitting down in her seat. There were two rows of seats facing each other on either side of the ship. One door led to the back of the ship where the explosives were, and on the opposite side was the cockpit. The other Rebels were friendly towards Drauf, but they didn't make much conversation and mostly kept to themselves. Soon the ship began to rumble and vibrate before soaring into the air and breaking atmosphere. After a short time, the ship would give a lurch as it made the jump to lightspeed.

  • {Hello. If you wanna talk plotlines hit me up in private in box messages. And we can discuss it. But I probably wont respond until tomorrow. Sorry about that. I'm just heading offline now.}

  • Upon hearing his question, Rey would slowly shake her head. The galaxy was full of strange people and places, but so far Rey had not heard this legend and she was interested to know more about it. She then watched as he was able to change the appearance of his hand. She tried her best not to look startled but in truth she had never seen anything like that before.

Rey felt her sense of ease return when he joked and playfully hit her arm. "Well...thank you for telling me. I promise to keep it a secret, just like Leia." With her thoughts now turned towards the near future, Rey crossed her arms and thought about it. "How do you feel about your weapons? We could take a look at our weapon storage and see if there's anything you'd like to bring?" Whether he had anything on him or not, it was probably still worth taking a look and seeing if there was anything he wanted to swap.
