Character History/Story

Skuld is the youngest of the three Norns (three deities who decided human fate), the oldest being Urd (Norn of the past), and the middle being Verdandi (Norn of the present), making her the Norn of the future. She does not remember how she was cast to Earth. Now she goes by Skye Futursdottir ("future's daughter"). She wants to find allies to help her get back home to her sisters, and possibly find love.

~~HYDRA Base – Eastern Europe~~

Intel came in that HYDRA had another base in Eastern Europe, Mount Elbrus, Caucasus Mountains, Russia. The AVENGERS suited up and headed to that area. Inside the QuinJet were Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Winter Soldier, and Falcon. Iron Man was flying alongside the QuinJet and provided recon. Once they got within a few hundred miles of the base, Iron Man took off and surveyed the area, he reported back to Cap.

Iron MAN: “Cap, the place isn’t well fortified, looks like they just started to set up shop, but they do have some heavy artillery. I’ll take out the artillery while you land the QuinJet.”

“Tony be careful, I’ll set down the QuinJet a few yards from the main entrance to the base. By your estimate, how many men do you account for down there?”

Iron Man: “From what surveillance is picking up, no more than 100 men, but they are armed, go in with extreme caution.”

With that last transmission, Cap banked the QuinJet to the left and landed it safely in a secluded field a few hundred yards from the base entrance. Once they landed Tony got busy, there were explosions to the north of their position. That was their queue to move out. They made their way through the forest and Cap signaled them to stop. He pulled out his binoculars and surveyed the area, there were at least 10 men heavily armed with HYDRA weapons, and there were sirens blaring into the mid-afternoon day. He signaled for Falcon to go high, as the rest of them moved out on the ground. Once he gave the signal, they all moved out and Iron Man joined up with them, meeting Falcon in the air and deploying the bombs to make the ground assault easier.

As they reached the forest’s end, Cap crouched down, and noticed a heavily armored tank. They needed to take that out first, so Cap signaled for Black Widow and Hawkeye to go to the right and Winter Soldier went left. Once the tank was taken out, the rest of the base would fall easily. Cap and Winter soldier reached the tank, and quickly Cap jumped up, broke open the hatch and waited as Falcon threw down to him a back of C4, it was primed and ready to go. He caught the bag, threw it down the hatch and then shut it, quickly jumping off as the tank exploded.

That was all that had to be done, as the HYDRA forces quickly began to lay down their weapons, but something wasn’t right. Cap felt as if they were being watched. Out of the corner of his eye, to his right he thought he saw movement, but he wasn’t sure and as they rounded up the HYDRA personnel, a plane took off carrying what he believed to be the Red Skull and his trusted right hand man Baron Von Strucker. This was a small victory, but the fact that Red Skull and Baron Von Strucker got away, that made the victory a little less satisfying.

Cap radioed back to SHIELD and informed them that this HYDRA base was ready to be destroyed, as Fury notified them to get out of there, as there is another base, they located that needs to be eliminated, this one is in the Carpathian Mountains, but this site is fully functional and will need a debriefing before they can attack. So, Fury instructed them to come back to AVENGERS HQ in Manhattan, NY. SHIELD will take care of the HYDRA prisoners and destroy the base.

On the flight home, Cap just couldn’t get that feeling out of his head that they were being watched. He brushed it off for now, but there was definitely someone else there, but who, he didn’t know.
