Born in the secluded forests of Katalam located in Russia, Maya lived a relatively normal life for a Fairy. Her tribe consisted of mostly Earth Fairies. Still, her clan accepted her just as they had her mother all those years ago. With no mentor due to elemental differences, Maya has barely begun to scratch the surface of her Fae abilities.

As the past would state. Maya's mother fell from the Heavens long ago. A Fae servant to the Angels she'd no longer be. Maya's mother had always seen the logic in Lucifer's ways and thus made a choice. This lead her mother through trials like no other.

Some believe Lucifer was the reason for her Mother's death. Other's say Ceres (Maya's Mother) lost touch with reality when the Void corrupted her.

Either way, Maya was young when her mother "abandon" her. A dangerous quest became her downfall. Only now that Maya has chosen to venture out of Katalam's Woodlands and into civilization has she begun to unravel the great battle that was fought on the very grounds she thrived.

The Golden Child..

  50% Arabic / 50% Unknown

Not such a Golden Child after all. Maya's birth was a complete accident. Not only that, it was completely against her mother's will. Her father not only ran experiments on, but raped Maya's mother on several occasions in order to create the "Perfect" Hybrid. Unfortunately, Maya was not that prize he sought.

Once her mother escaped to freedom, she kept Maya a secret from everyone except her Fae Clan. While Maya was completely unplanned and conceived under the worst of conditions, Ceres still loved Maya dearly.

While Maya does not know this history, it's expected that one day she will find out. Perhaps the origins of her half-brother will come to light. While Maya has heard rumors of a half-kin, she's yet to see or discover more about him.

Her mother has left her specific instructions. Being the good daughter she is, it's likely Maya will follow. "Find Jett, Stay with him, and don't trust anyone else."

"The Stars, They Call to Me"

10213041079?profile=RESIZE_584x

Maya is a Water Fairy, thus her abilities mirror her origins. This doesn't stop her from having a deep affinity with the stars. She's always been not only fascinated but drawn to them. While the answer lies in her father's genes, Maya is not yet aware of this. The recessive traits of her father have left her with virtually nothing but his looks. Maya is still learning and has barely begun to develop her elemental nature. Most abilities will appear as her story progresses and she learns!

Abilities

Basic Water Magic: While still under heavy development, Maya has managed to form small water spears and other projectiles. Unfortunately, her control is very unstable and often isn't reliable in battle.

Fairy Dust: Often Sought after by hunters and witches alike. Maya has never used this dust on anyone and doesn't actually know the effects of it. The dust naturally forms and collects on her wings only falling off when there is excess. It is said to be highly popular on the black market.

Water Healing: Maya can use bodies of water such as Rivers, Lakes, etc. to heal herself or others.

Water Dancing: An enchanting dance that holds little to no beneficial effects. It is said to cure minor ailments such as poisons and other sicknesses. This ability has also been known to grant rest to the warry, and overall produce a calming effect.

Charm Dancing: A secret dance that Maya has discovered the effects of overtime. Once practiced alone for her own peace and comfort, the Fairy quickly learned of its alluring effects on other creatures. While it seems to affect animals and beasts more strongly, her dancing can soothe and draw in most anyone; some may simply feel a sense of ease while others could be afflicted enough to where Maya could impose her will on the target. It is her version of a Siren song. She's only ever used this ability on Jett per his request.

The Talisman of Absolute Law10230697886?profile=RESIZE_400x

Once a well sought after piece for its power. The necklace was stolen from the King of the Stars and passed to Maya's mother, Ceres. It is said the necklace was once guarded by an ancient Ronin Tribe in the mountains of present-day Japan. Maya's mother guarded this with her life, only parting with it before the Great War began. With the help of several Fae elders, Ceres buried the powerful artifact inside of Maya. The Necklace no longer exists, but its power remains. It is a power Maya cannot wield herself. In compliance with the rules put into effect by the elders, the Talisman will only show its face when its owner trusts a wielder.

Absolute LawThen & Now

10230694463?profile=RESIZE_400xThen: The Talisman of Absolute Law was a once heavily guarded object, that could only be channeled by extremely high magical abilities and immense stamina. The Necklace had the ability to bring lesser beings to their knees in unwavering compliance. Stolen by the King's servant in order to maintain balance and safety for others, Maya's mother acquired and protected the artifact in this state.

Now: Currently resonating with Maya's soul. The Talisman is dissolved, its power reduced to a weapon. While the weapon bares great strength and unknown abilities, it can no longer be wielded by just anyone. Maya makes that choice unknowingly based on her trust levels. A sigil, hidden to all eyes, will slowly become more and more visible to her trusted companion with time. Only when fully ignited can the weapon be summoned from the sigil located below her neck, between her collarbones. Maya is unaware of this power buried within. It only adds to the confidence her mother had in her. While this helped Ceres, the elders had another motive. When Maya dies, the Talisman as well will see its last light.

Relationships and Meaningful Interactions

dDNwbTQ.jpg?profile=RESIZE_180x180 VASHARTI "VASH"| BROTHER | ALIVE

Maya's half-brother. Vash boasts a different mother, but he's yet to reveal who that is. The two have recently met and not yet shared much information with one another. Maya is much weaker than him, but Vash seems oddly accepting. He appears to have a brotherly protectiveness about him. While he's eager to take Maya to his home planet in the stars, Maya has thus far declined. Perhaps this explains her affinity to the Stars all along.

JETT.png JETT | GUARDIAN | ALIVE

Maya's protector. Jett had vowed to fulfill a favor to Maya's mother while she took her last breaths. However, Jett was not expecting a child of all favors. While Maya's mother trusted Jett with her life, she trusted no one with the knowledge of Maya's life. Thus Maya followed her mother's orders and sought Jett out. He protects her with his life, and she tells him stories of her mother from the past. These stories somehow comfort the Lost Soul

CERES.png CERES | MOTHER | DECEASED

(My Retired Character of 9 years) Maya's Mother. Ceres cared for her daughter dearly and her quest for power was the final piece she needed to keep her daughter safe. Ceres ended up claiming the Void's power. This eventually drove her to gentle insanity. With a crazy plan to face the King of the Stars, Ceres and Jett eventually became Amir's downfall. This came at a cost; Ceres did not leave the battle alive. However, she entrusted Jett with Maya's wellbeing and happily said her final goodbyes knowing her daughter was free of her looming Father.

AMIR.png AMIR | FATHER | DECEASED

(Retired character of Vasharti's Player) Father to Maya. She's never met him and was quickly hidden away from him by her mother. She retains several features of his physically, but virtually none of his Cosmic abilities. While Maya knows of his wrong-doings as well as his passing, she has no interest in learning more about him. Maya was his first attempt and creating the perfect Starcaller. Unfortunately, she was a failure. While she's technically Royalty, she has no interest in claiming her father's fallen title of King "Queen" of the Stars.

About the Writer (OOC)

Hello ^-^ I love writing with just about anyone so don't be afraid to ask. I can plot or wing things. I'm probably better at winging storylines since I suck being put on the spot for ideas. I'm just now getting back into the RP world after about a year long break. I'm happy to meet some new people and hopefully make some good friends :) - Mel

  • "Sadly no. My clan is far off. Bit of a turf war with other Fae and some elves. I have a safe haven near by I can take you too. If that is what you wish. Not safe here."

He would offer a hand to her and if she took it. He would transport the two of them to a safe house twenty blocks away from their current location. It wasn't much. Modest size but clean with basic amenities.

"Now. Care to tell me why they were after you? And do you have any sort of combat training?"

  • Bloom moved over and out of nowhere. Have Maya a kissed on the lips and held her hands. The kiss was medical in application. Was not lustful or romantic. The kiss was a delivery system for the heat radiating in Bloom's core. Head would transfer from her mouth to Maya and her body. The heat would give her a nice warm up boost and Bloom have her a big hug and squeeze.

Apparnetly she seemed very comfy in Maya's presence and why wouldn't she? Unlike a small few Fae she met. She seemed nice and wasn't afraid of her.
"Hi!  No. I dunno where that is. I'm a Changeling. So it's all new to me. Hi!!! I'm Bloom! Nice to meet a fellow Faerie who is not afraid of me. "

  • ~ Okay sounds good! Take your time. :) ~

  • The two might be fast, human adrenaline pumping through causing the couple to scramble back in a hopeless attempt to reach the shore. The massive reptile was faster, however. Positioning itself right beneath the dock, simply buckling its scaly body was enough to pop most of the supporting wood into pieces. The man was caught up first in the mayhem, curved fangs sinking so quickly right in the middle of the torso that his screams were abruptly cut off, literally ripping through the soft flesh in a shower of blood.

The shrieking woman who already had fallen off into the waters followed suit. The leucistic leviathan dove after her, the formerly tranquil spot now a mess of broken wood and splinters, with only the darkness of the night veiling any trace of blood in the saltwater.

It was an attack that happened within three minutes, with the serpent enjoying the bits of its warm meal in no time. Though slightly shredded, with that amount, it might even keep that belly filled for a while without having to hunt anytime soon.

That tiny shriek did catch its attention, however.

A sharp turn was made, glittering orbs finally hatching a glimpse of the terrified figure by the sandy shore, and the glimmer of light that shone so briefly, which quickly dimmed. Its next movements can be deemed predictable, with the snake now rushing forward to her direction. It towered over the fairy woman within moments, harsh shadows and sea spray cast beneath the light of the moon. Icy blue eyes glowered back. Now poised to attack its last witness, the serpent brought itself down, fangs bared, gleaming sharply like daggers.

It stopped midway, however, even before anything could even come close.

    Water.

The instinct came, so sharp and so clear.

The image flashed, so briefly and yet it was clear enough to be remembered. A quiet strain of a song. A gentle, bubbling spring, hidden in a dark, gleaming cave of sparks… somewhere far-- somewhere not here.

What in the world was that?

Did she even know this woman at all?

The serpent already paused within arm’s length, just in time before it connected. No, it didn't seem like it. A long hiss was emitted, its eyes narrowed down into slits as the beast slithered forward, popping its gaping mouth shut and away from her. That glare didn’t die off any time soon and nothing was still in the clear, but at least it didn’t seem so intent on chomping at her anymore for the time being.

Was it suspicion? Intrigue? Either way, Maya was now its next object of interest to investigate, eyeing at her so intensely. If anything, it seemed quite confused, studying her with what those sharp, predatory senses can offer, or anything complex around her that could be used as a clue. Scales rubbed against each other in brief agitation, creating a very distinct, scratchy noise amid the breeze. There was something nearby that faintly smelled edible, something that didn't smell like blood, its feral senses could only say so, but the size difference made that quite difficult to locate. A rumbling growl was emitted at this, escaping loudly from its massive throat.

With a low huff, gills flaring out, the serpent gradually withdrew, sinking back down into the waves-- and yet with how the waters churned about in the dark, one can be quite sure that it was still there, with flecks of pale fins and spikes briefly showing through the foamy surface. It didn’t take long before that enormous snout resurfaced with a flick, tossing something in the air.

If she hadn't left yet, or scurried far away in terror, a severed leg would land down close to the fairy’s feet with a low thud, just narrowly missing her by a few inches. Ripped out from the knee with the broken joint still showing, it was still bleeding in some areas, but now it was mostly caked with sand.

Icy blue eyes observed her intently, its horned head gradually bobbing from side to side. Those serpentine features can’t really reveal anything that’s going on inside that mind. At least at that moment, a beast this monstrous remained curious. Almost… expectant.

Perhaps it was trying to share whatever that was left of its food?

  • ~ Okay great! Modern fantasy works for me. If you could start that would be great! I can place Mal anywhere. :) ~

  • (Maleficent is also uncomfortable with the modern world. She refuses to adapt. Hmm maybe Maya could see Maleficent use her magic one day by accident? She realizes Mal is not human and follows her in curiosity? Maybe she wants to learn from her and feels more comfortable meeting another fairy despite it being someone as malicious as Mal?)

  • While Spain boasted a beauty of its own that has charmed many throughout history, its islands weren’t one to be forgotten so easily. Majorca just had so much to offer that it couldn’t be missed.

There was the scenic stretch of coastlines and resorts enough to set a hydrophile’s heart adrift, hiking paths to lead someone astray from the city’s commotion, the cathedrals that cradled a history of its own, and the bustling little places inland that showcased its warm essence. The place never ran out of reasons to beckon to anyone. On a usual day, for many others, it was paradise.

Then, there were the typical, destroyed fences with missing animals. The human disappearances that went for months, without a specific pattern. There are adults, both local and tourists that just went missing one night, never found again after a long night of coastal parties or alcohol, or long walks at the more secluded areas -- morning or not. CCTV cameras didn’t offer any clue aside from proving the innocence of the venues surrounding the place.

As of yet, it wasn’t the cause of widespread alarm in the entire islands. It was enough to raise some speculations and warnings, however. Anyone friendly enough will perhaps, tattle that.

Many would guess that it’s simply a saltwater alligator, which seemed quite outlandish considering the location. Perhaps a shark. Myths of dragons, serpents, and the tale of Santa Margalida were whispered by the older folk. Some would say that a killer was on the loose, or some syndicates and human traffickers, just to keep the local police on their toes. Closely-knit communities never really run out of gossip to pass around, nobody knew anything about it, however. All that ever there was were hearsays and the skirted word of mouth. Maybe that’s all that it ever will be.

Nevertheless, these stories never really put off the tourism that bustled around the place, and to that, the locals were thankful. Despite the typical patrols and the searches that went discreetly in the background, the island still teemed with visitors, new faces and eyes of all colors gracing its beaches. Palma de Mallorca still received and bid its farewells to new people every day, without fail, despite the declining weather and the approaching cold at the end of the year.

The waters hardly revealed anything, save for the squeaks of some children reporting a huge white snake circling the coves, with those falling into deaf ears. After all, who will believe that?

    . . .

    11:45 pm.

During this time of the night, the main streets were still littered with people and lively vendors. Music still blared in some areas, the lights were still lit in various gaudy venues, ready to receive visitors.

This specific spot, however, wasn’t like that.

An old, tiny docking harbor, it was, sporting aged, weathered wood on the ramps that already saw through time. These little spots still peppered some parts of the island, some of them hosting smaller boats from time to time. This one didn’t seem to have anything much, however. Just an introvert’s little hub to briefly get away from the overwhelming noise, facing the dark stretch of the horizon, cold, rolling waves, and the clear skies filled with stars.

It was the perfect spot away from prying eyes, just enough to entice a couple to stray away for a while. The guests of the night were a man and a woman-- perhaps in their early thirties, drunk and addled with stimulants, hooking up so briefly from a party. They were giggling their way off the crowd, already frisking each other on the way, hoping for a brief, romantic getaway.

Nobody noticed the sheen of glowing icy orbs blinking beneath the waves, observing the two figures, with hands unable to keep it to themselves.

Nobody does until it was too late.

Even before the two started stripping, whispering sappy clichés to each other’s ears, the predator made its move. A pearlescent frilled tail jerked swiftly, enough to buckle the entire ramp, just enough to settle the uneasy silence. Within a few moments, the serpent idling below made its strike. The wood bent and splintered, slivers sent off in all directions. It was a towering figure of opalescent white that shot out of the waters, bringing out a flurry of seawater. A creature that seemed quite enormous due to its length, its meandering body tearing straight through any obstruction.

The two scrambled away, barely evading the massive horned head that made its descent, curved fangs bared and inches away from latching into someone’s flesh. There was screaming, of course, shrieking and profanities that followed soon after.

With the platform now collapsing, however, it wouldn’t take long before these two will certainly fall prey to that massive, gaping maw.

    ||Hello! Sorry if it took me long, but I hope this starter is okay! ヽ(・∀・)ノ ||

  • Russia. Such a cold place. Welcoming it was. When your temperature was the same as a nuclear power plant. Cold air of any kind was a welcome relief. Grozny. When he traveled, he used a mixture of his own fairy wings and shapeshifting into a swarm of bees or a bat. There was teleportation but normally he liked to know where he was going to end up or been in the location he wanted to teleport too.

So he mainly chose to fly or ride on horseback or use some vehicle. Though he seldom did the latter. All the neon lights of the place made him feel better. For he could walk the streets in his usual state. Glowing green skeleton looking being and people may think it was a wicked neon costume. Until the heat and radiation began killing them that is.

His outfit was a kefka. Bulletproof made by fabricators. He had a long cloak cape like attire on as well. It was an ensemble he tend to wore almost all the time. Always dressed at the ready it seemed. Now had the woman taken into an alley had been human. He would have ignored it like so many others.

But this was different. The scent of Fae, heavy in the air, hit him clearly and his pupils widen when he detected one of his kind nearby. Moving through the crowd of people he would come upon the scene of a woman accosted by three men. Men with killing intent radiating off of them.

Aleksander wasted no time gathering shadows around him as he prepaired for the cut.

He fired off the attack that would bisect the three men. Their bodies falling tot he ground with a perfect cut that left no organs spilling out. The hand that held onto her was now just an arm without a body attached to it. Slowly he walked over to her with a stoic expression on his face.

"How do you fair, comrade?"  He said softly and showed his wings to her to let her know he was a friend and one of her kind. Least in part. His wings were blood red and jet black. The red having a sinister shine to it but it was part of his dark Elf and dark Fae nature that resulted in the look.
